  • Today, I'll be describing how to trim a distribution so that the outliers don't affect the mean as much.

      The trimmed mean is the sum of all of the numbers that are given divided by how many numbers there are => 1004 / 25 = 40.16.

    [ banana + concise + cute + articulate + apple ] --> find the 20% trimmed mean. Hint: It's an upvote.

    What if they ask 17.5 % trimmed mean?

    • @mohanbandaru06
      @mohanbandaru06 5 лет назад +1

      If (17.5×n) is not an integer.
      It can be calculated by weighted average of X% trimmed mean(which is just less than 17.5% and X%×n is a integer) and some Y% trimmed mean (which is just more than 17.5% and Y% × n is a integer)
      n =no of observations.
