Glad you have liked it! You can view the other videos/playlists for different Statistics concepts as well. Some are a bit theoretical, on purpose. Most would be application oriented taking real-life examples.
The question is too broad. It all depends on the the specific application. Houses need to be categorized (size, amenities etc.) and Salaries vary by profile and department.
Can you include verbal text in your videos for those who learn by listening and reading. That way we can make sure we are understanding your lectures properly. Thank you, your content helped clear my question about mean, median and mode.
Your explanation is very good and informative but I suggest you to keep your appearing on one corner and keep the data on the screen so that we know what data your are taking about, this way we have data on the big screen and your commentary also visible in small box at any corner of the screen
Sir Suppose A Valve Manufacturer Produce Their Valves ( A , B , C , D ) --- > there are four valve type and error shows ( A --> 5.2 , B ---> 0.2 , C ----> 0.5 , D ----> 1 ) , so it shows a skewed graph but to get better solution what error value that should be taken by valve manufacturer ? is that median of those error values or mean ???
The fact that you have different valves, you do not have a homogenous dataset. Further, you are referring to some error in manufacturing of each valve type. What decision do you want to arrive at?! A tool need not be used simply because it is available!
@@LearningPuree Sir Valve manufacturer try to pic one value of error from that dataset that I given, thus they can make all the valves, producing minimum error
Again, it depends on what what business decision is required. You have already mentioned that all are different types of valves. So, one cannot compare apples with oranges. However, if the manufacturer wants to choose between valve types based ONLY on minimum error (and no other constraints/factors) then he is free to do so.
Identifying Mode of data, understanding distribution of the data using histogram or for understanding preferences (product, taste, flavour etc.). Additionally, please lookup the video tutorials on probability distribution.
I understand you are referring to Arithmetic Mean versus Median. To help you out, if you have understood the basic concept behind the selection of a measure it should serve the purpose.
If we have to take average air temperature on daily basis, what method we can adopt (mean, mode, median). Eg. Maximum temperature is 10 degree & minimum temperature is -2 degree. Is it suitable to take mean, as median, mode seems to be impossible here.
We cannot employ a tool simply because it is available. The domain and data is studied before employing any tool. Moreover, taking a Mean does not imply simply taking an average of 2 extreme readings. Temperature is tracked hourly, throughout the day.
@@manzoorwanigeo2335 The choice of the parameter you track is decided by the domain requirement. Range identifies the dispersion, not the central tendency. You would know that temperature is a continuous variable and a distribution can be plotted through the time period it is tracked. The distribution needs to be studied on what parameters you choose to track.
That is such a cool example at the end, for most touched objects. This is particularly interesting when thought of in the context of designing cleanroom laboratory's.
Hello @Learning Puree your contents are really helpful in deciphering practical applications. It's been long I was wondering where could I get such videos of statistics and here it is the best platform . Keep on doing the great work. Thanks :D

Mean uses when data not skewed Median and mode use when data skewed Like : 3,7,10,12,15,19, 20 in this we use mean bcz data not skewed 3,10,50,75,200 in this we can't use mean bcz data skewed Is it ryt??? But sir what is positive skewed or negative skewed???
The point to note is that when we have extreme values in the data, then Mean may not be the right choice. To an extent, the example on 3, 10 and 200 could be acceptable. Skewness refers to how much the data when plotted on a graph is asymmetric indicated by how many less frequent values towards one tail (side) of the curve. The graphic in the video is a good example of the same. A quick way of understanding positive skew is whether the tail is longer and thinner towards the right which means more frequency of values on the left. Negative skew is exactly the opposite.
Archana, all the 3 concepts are examples of an "Average" which means the middle number OR a balanced number. To initiate the concept, you could use the concept of tally marks, placing dots on a line or may be even employ pictures. Number line is another best way to initiate the concept, then get them "warmed-up" before graduating to the next level of "real-life". There is NO single way in which these concepts can be explained to this level of the student. The best way is to tailor the life example with which the child identifies i.e. either Chocolate/Pizza/Cake/Pancake(Roti)/Apples etc. Mostly, the first 3 work :)
@@LearningPuree The answer for median is evident but 50 is not representing the set. How we decide which variable will take on x-axis and which on y-axis. Plz tell me sir...
In case of correlation it does not matter. In case of regression, the independent variable will be on the x-axis.
