instead of dragging lines just with "alt", you can use "alt + ctrl" to duplicate and then "alt + ctrl + shift + T" to repeat them with same distance.
Exactly like you do in illustrator with "ctrl + D"
Also if you want to duplicate with different scale or rotation values, use "alt + ctrl + T" - change it with different scale or rotation - enter - press "alt + ctrl + shift + T" to repeat with that value progressively.

Thanks a lot for the detailed comment. I actually used this technique in the past but for some reason it didn't work in Ps 2020. There might be a custom shortcut preventing it to work for me.

because I am currently using ps 2020 with same shortcut.

Or even we can use the blend option from Illustrator, it will save us from the alignment and distribution command as well. Just a thought.

Insane as always, but im wondering do you really have to save the individual layer? I think you can use ctrl shift alt E to merge them into one layer and change the values then merge it again.

Hey, really like the tutorial and the cool type effect going on here. I've been able to create a cool look for my text while following along and I'm happy to be learning this neat effect!
However, I keep having an issue with this technique. I'm on my second go around, following the step by step, and both times the displacement and the place linked file don't match up.
Actually the smart object version of the text doesn't match up either when I copy and paste it in the doc.
I have to distort or change character settings to make them match up.
Is there a way to fix that?

Either every ones using a different PS CC or my ps is fubar. 1) when switch to the move tool my lines vanish. 2) when I rotate and save the psb my original doesn't show the rotation. Any clues??

I was wondering if you couldn't use Layer Comps to get the several states in the last part, then, having all the comps, to export them to files... Not an actual action, but, perhaps, could save some time. Anyway, nice tutorial!

Try inverting the colours of the map. Make sure you simplify the details of the face and maybe increase the density of the lines.

you edit your videos abit too much, you cut alot on procedures and not always your result are directly "true"
someone who does step by step reconise this, for example the linked dis map was alot smaller than the effect, you probabily resized it by hand but cut the procedure in the video
    why?
