  • Today we create a Circle of Stars Druid character from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything for #DnD 5E. We will start at level 1 and advance to level 10 and discuss all of the Circle of the Stars Features, character selections and spells along the way. This character build will focus on creating a detective type of character that would work well in Candlekeep Mysteries. What is a Circle of Stars Druid?
    The Circle of Stars allows druids to draw on the power of starlight. These druids have tracked heavenly patterns since time immemorial, discovering secrets hidden amid the constellations. By revealing and understanding these secrets, the Circle of the Stars seeks to harness the powers of the cosmos.
    Many druids of this circle keep records of the constellations and the stars’ effects on the world. Some groups document these observations at megalithic sites, which serve as enigmatic libraries of lore. These repositories might take the form of stone circles, pyramids, petroglyphs, and underground temples-any construction durable enough to protect the circle’s sacred knowledge even against a great cataclysm.

    Mine is a protector Aasimar, and his star map is a clear quartz that casts the map against the walls of the room when illuminated. He's fun 😊

    I am going to play a Circle of the Star Druid in our upcoming campaign. She is already built ánd I have commissioned artwork for her, which is completed too. We are running this as a second campaign, with our usual party. It will be set in Wildemount. So excited about this subclass! Her backstory is 6 pages.... lmao

      As well as if you have 10 minutes to prepare for a full out war Druid grove is insanely good.... and lasts for 24 hours in a long range like say protecting a castle wall from a seige or something like that where ya have 10 minutes of prep time Druid grove is incredible

    My Stars druid is based on the idea that he is a seer and advisor in court. He has NO Wood lore and is more on insight and persuasion. I found great humanoid Peacock so reskinning a Kenku and as he draws on the his tail fans and darken all by the eyes in the feathers that form the stars. I mainly draw on the archer throwing out the radiant bonus action and guiding bolt also I took bane threw magical Initiate to curse the fates of my enemy. I was allowed to take Calligraphy in place of Herbalist and he scribes healing scrolls in place of making healing potions. I like turning the character base line and flipping it around. It is so fun to see people freak that the druid is a Face character that cant really tell a flower from a dandelion

    • @WallyDM

      I really dig your character idea. Especially crafting Healing scrolls vs potions. Interesting and well done!

      Right now I am playing a Goliath Druid pulling on the Prometheus legends and flame keeper to be a shaman wild fire druid. this is for adventure league and I have used the DM rewards to have a hell hound pup Bracers of Archery and smoldering cloak which has a frost mode from the holiday event. He uses healing runes in place of making healing potions. I like how it pulls on the cold nature of the Goliath and being that big is not my normal play style

    why changeling and which would be other choices if that was not allowed?

    • @WallyDM
      @WallyDM  3 года назад +1

      I chose Changeling for theme reasons. I wanted my character to have several different ways to manipulate their body. They can now:
      - Change their appearance to look like anyone else (Changeling Race)
      - Change their appearance to that of constellations (Stars Druid Ability)
      - Change their form / appearance into an animal (Wild Shape)
      - 4th Level Spell - Polymorph (More shapeshifting shenanigans)
      But, If Changeling is not allowed. I would probably go Variant Human (for a feat) or pick a race that has darkvision and good constitution.
      Hope this helps. Thank you for watching the video! Cheers!

      Anything with a wis bonus, and ideally a con bonus to help with concentration (Hill Dwarf, Lizard folk, Loxodon, Water Genasi, for example) The Star Druid I'm planning is a Water Genasi Sailor, because I love the idea of a character that looks like a starry sky reflected on the ocean.

    • @WallyDM
      @WallyDM  7 месяцев назад

      Level 9 was fairly boring, honestly. Proficiency Bonus becomes a +4 and you get to cast 1 fifth level spell... that was it.
