    Let's try the rotisserie feature on a chicken: ruclips.net/video/rXi5sIl5EdA/видео.html

      After you put the drip tray below the heating elements with the rotisserie chicken, do you think the cook times will change for these items in this video?

    • @marywinter8216
      @marywinter8216 3 года назад +3

      @@jimtidmorejr7891 Hi. I would definitely think things would cook more quickly without having the bottom heating elements blocked. The drip tray still gets kind of weird over time just from having spots cleaned off. It really pays to do cleanup up immediately.

    • @marywinter8216
      @marywinter8216 3 года назад +1

      I have the same unit, but luckily got three baskets and two racks with mine. A 3 pound chicken tightly tied up produced almost no smoke. The drippings fell between the heating elements, for the most part. I think a bigger chicken or roast produces more smoke.
      I’m sure someone must’ve told you by now, but the drip tray goes under the bottom heating elements. There should be no other empty trays below the tray you were trying to cook from. It really does impede the heat and things take longer to cook.
      Doing that correctly will also improve the toasting feature. It does a great job on toast. Especially good for large slices of bread.
      Lastly, I have discovered that cooking chicken wings or tenders and fries separately works best. Otherwise it takes forever for anything to get crisp.
      I just discovered your channel. 😃

    I just got one of these and been playing around with it. one thing I've noticed in your video is you have the drip tray sitting on top of the bottom heating element and it should be under. that would help with the toasting part lol.

      The heating elements being underneath the drip tray is almost certainly the cause of the longer cooking times, as well.

    Thank you, thank you. This was what I've asked my husband for for Christmas. Quite frankly, for the cost, I wasn't impressed by the results you got. Rotissierie awesome, but air fryer smoking, dehydrator not thorough and toaster too long. No way.. Now, I am leaning toward kaloric. Thank you for saving us a chunk-a-change. I wanted to trade up from my Cuisinart Convection Oven that's been going strong for over 12 years ($99 at Costco) as it doesn't have an air frying feature. But everyone I've watched has given this Oven such a mediocre review. It strikes me as just a more advanced table top convection oven. See no reason to trade up. You helped me make my decision. We have one. It's hit or miss for us. I love it for grilled cheese, toast, reheating pizza, air fry french fries etc. So far it's a miss on roasted cauliflower, rising crust pizza, and regular pizza. The rising crust pizza was a doughy mess. The cauliflower was somehow both a dark brown and still undercooked crunchy (I even lowered the temp for the second half of cooking). The air fry basket comes clean easy in a dishwasher but I can see it being a problem if you have to scrub it by hand.

    Hi, Jeff. I just watched your review of Emeril Lagasse's Power Air Fryer 360 and I loved it. Very thorough and easy to listen to. We bought this product today and immediately made a Rotisserie Chicken. We had difficulty only because we didn't know how to truss a chicken. Too bad we didn't video that process because it was a comedy of errors. Once we got past that, we did alright...until the electricity went out in our area due to weather. It had cooked for almost 30 minutes (of the recommended 55) and we just left it in the Air Fryer for the duration of the power outage (almost 2 hours). When we were able to resume cooking, we set it for another 15 minutes. We didn't have high hopes, but it turned out great! It was a bit messy because we didn't line the drip tray as you did, but we will next time. And there will be a next time!

    Just unboxed my 360XL with accessory kit and can’t wait to get started. Note that the drip pan goes under the elements, it’s easy to put above elements but then burns pan. One thing I can’t figure is the timer, doesn’t seem to be adjustable on air fry mode so I guess you have to use a separate timer if you want less than 18 minutes. I need to play with this more and have been hesitant to purchase an air fryer but hear great reviews. Also on Emerils site I found a 25% discount code which helped make the decision. Hi Jeff, I enjoyed your review and agree with some of your conclusions. The 360 is somewhat slower to air fry a variety of foods like chicken wings than my generic 4 quart bargain air fryer. For routine air frying of small batches, my basic and cheap air fryer is significantly faster and produces crispy food. There are a few ways to improve the cooking results and reduce cooking time.
    A few comments about your set-up: At 4:50 I see that your bottom drip pan is resting above the two bottom heating elements. The drip pan needs to be BELOW the heating elements. It slips below them and thus exposes the heating elements for more direct exposure of the food to heat. This is probably why it discolored - as seen at 2:15. While you rotisseried the roast you had the baking pan with some foil to catch the drippings. Subsequently, you air fried some wings, again with the drip pan resting on top of the heating elements with the addition of the baking pan covered with a bunch of aluminum foil. All this extra metal blocks much of the radiant, convectional and convective heat from the bottom elements. It also reduces the air flow across the bottom heated elements, further reducing the heat transfer to the food. At 7:15 you can see the baking pan resting on top of the drip pan along with some aluminum foil all directly above the heating elements. Again, these elements need to be exposed to quicken and improve the cooking process. At 9:05 you seem to have figured out that exposing the elements will improve your toasting results. However, you removed the drip pan rather than have it in its proper place below the bottom heating elements. The drip pan would have caught the crumbs. The 360 oven is a poor replacement for a conventional toaster for slices of bread. However, it makes phenomenal toasted garlic bread from italian bread.
    For your dehydrating test you again had all the aforementioned stuff blocking the heat from the elements and disrupting the proper air flow of the unit. This makes a big difference. Remove all the extraneous pans and foil for much better results - Not perfect, but much better. As far as the generation of smoke, I've seen only minimal amounts of smoke from the oven. The drippings collected on the overly heated drip pan (and/or baking pan/aluminum foil) may have been been the source of the smoke you witnessed.
    1) I've found that having the heating elements unblocked and exposed improves cooking efficiency. 2) Using the top-most cooking position will help crisp food quicker by getting the food closer to the top heating elements. Use the second from top position for thicker foods to avoid direct contact with the top elements. Turning the food half way in the cooking cycle helps cook things evenly. 3) During normal air frying and rotisserie cooking, most - not all - of the drippings will miss the heating elements and land on the drip pan where they can be cleaned fairly easily. However, I've seen some smoke generated from fatty foods and BBQ sauce dripping on the exposed elements. Seems like a trade-off between some smoke vs cooking speed. The 360 oven is not a perfect appliance. I agree that it takes some "finagling" to get the results you want.

      Thanks for the very insightful comment. I completely messed up with the drip tray. I tried it under the coil originally but it didnt fit. I guessed it was a misprint. I later learned I was wrong after a few nice youtubers helped me out. Silly me, I was putting it in backwards. I ended up putting out another video correcting my mistake and putting a chicken through the rotisserie process. I also refused my impulse to put in any foil or a drip tray below the food. You are right, there should not be anything obstructing the food while cooking. I did read that in the directions but didn't listen - ha. Thanks again for your comment. Great review - Thanks!
    I received this same oven for Christmas and I am experimenting also. I do have a couple of comments. 1) According to the instructions, the drip tray should be placed on the very bottom, below the heating element. This may be the reason the paint came off. 2) I do like the toast better in this oven compared to my toaster. The oven, even though it takes a little longer, toast and dries the bread throughout - my toaster does great toasting the outside of bread, but not so great inside which causes it to be a little soggy when topped with butter. 3) I totally agree with your wife, that if possible, use the oven outside when air frying and using rotisserie (or using under the stove hood). I hate the shape of all regular air fryers and have had my eye on the one you're reviewing. The crumb tray can go below the bottom heating element so that you can toast the top and bottom of your toast at once. I got my Emeril Lagasse 360 Oven at Walmart for about $149, and it weighs less than my Sharp Microwave. I use it for air frying, and I also did make a cake with it awhile back, and it did come out delicious. I plan to make a strawberry angel food cake with it next. Today, I plan to roast some potatoes with the air frying feature, and some chicken tenderloins with it as well. I like my little oven. I found your channel and subscribed.

    I recently bought the 360 Plus. There's nothing I've seen that actually explains what the differences are with all of his models, and it looks like you have the XL model. I paid $169 for it at Walmart. I just did a 3 Lb Eye Roast in it today, with the rotisserie, and it turned out fine, at 375 degrees for 30 minutes, then I added another 15, but probably would lower that the next time. I also could not find in their "manual", how to Preheat this thing. Also my drip pan fits underneath the bottom heating elements. I've used it alot this past wk with the Reheat feature. I also love a half bagel in the morning with my breakfast, and I only have it set on 1 for quantity, and only on 1 for "darkness" and it comes out just right. I have not used any of the Air Fry functions yet. SO I bought it while my wife was out of town visiting family of hers! haha....I retired recently so I do 98% of the cooking anyway, so I will enjoy playing around and testing this. It replaced a toaster oven.

Our oven recently died and we don't mind waiting the month to replace it because we use the fryer so much. We haven't had any of the issues you had and wonder if your problems stemmed from adding aluminum foil to the drip tray? Doing that puts it closer to the heating element and may just heat the drip tray too much.

    If you're getting smoked out when using the air fryer, then you're doing something wrong. I've used the air fry function dozens of times on all types of food since I purchased my unit several months ago and never had a smoke issue. My experience with the toast function has been excellent. Kinda makes sense that you wouldn't get an even toasting or the toasting times would be altered if you left the pan & basket in the unit. You're worried about crumbs, but that's what the drip tray is for. As for the drip tray, I saw another reply that correctly pointed out that it goes under the heating elements. I believe that's in the setup instructions.

      @@Jeffreviews4u Interesting. I've used the rotisserie a few times and don't recall a drip/smoke issue. I'll keep my eye on that the next time I use it. I actually airfryed in preset time and my toast is perfect and baking and reheating are also what one would expect. I hope it all continues. I have not tried the rotisserie yet, but after your video I certainly will. The down side of this is the mfg is the same, TriStar which I didn't know until I got it home.!!! The reason your airfryer took longer is because you had the bake pan over the bottom burners. Only the drip pan should be under the burners.

      Thanks for taking the time to comment...you are right, the drip tray goes below the burners...sadly it slipped in without difficulty above it...haha

    During your cooking, there were so many edits for each item that was cooking at the time, which did not show the from start to finish for food shown; for example the Toast was in different positions on the grill (edits)

    We have one of those Ronco Rotisserie cooker. It works OK BUT now Sam's club has the rotisserie chicken already cooked for under $ 5.00. I can't buy a chicken and cook it for that price.
    That burning of the drip pan concerns me.
    I saw one of these in Sam's club and picked it up. It is very light weight as compared to other all-in-one devices.

    How's the noise level? 1 review said it's not quiet the noise got on her nerves. Not saving $ using 1800 watt 5 min for toast every day vs toaster 2min toaster
    Also a toaster oven shouldn't be left alone 6 hrs.

      It makes a humming noise - just like other airfryers.

      @@Jeffreviews4u They make noise. It has to do with the fan going.

    The new AF on the block is the KALORIK OvenMaxx ($200+ free shipping) that I just bought to replace 2+ decades of using various NuWave ovens . It has a bigger capacity than Emeralds. It also appears that one can rotisserie a much bigger chicken then the Emerald, and roast a 12 pound turkey. The OvenMaxx has a tool for removing the rotisserie bar

      @@Jeffreviews4u The manual sucks and the cookbook is weak sauce. I thought the rotisserie was bigger ;( and learning how to activate it for various cooking times/temps was not at all intuitive to me. Still struggling with it. Biggest disappointment so far is a 4.6 pound chicken is too big for the rotisserie

      @@roberthart9886 I just posted part 1 if my review. You are correct about the manual...a lot if trial and error... thanks for the info about the chicken. Check out my review if interested: ruclips.net/video/D9s1OzN1aq8/видео.html

    Dehydrator companies say you should cut everything up to just a fourth of an inch thick or they take way longer to dry out.

    I had the same problem you did... then I realized that the instructions direct you to put the drip tray BELOW the lower heating element. You will find that your heating time will be accurate and your toast will be perfect!

    • @Jeffreviews4u
      @Jeffreviews4u  4 года назад +2

      You're absolutely correct. Not sure why they made it so the drip tray fit so easily above the heating element. Thanks for sharing.

    Jeff Your drip pan is burnt because you have it in wrong it goes below the elements not on top of them.
