I have a similar problem Lippert controller code is displaying 2 green lights and 8 red lights I believe I have isolated the problem to a motor. My slide will come out 2 inches and in 2 inches. Is there a way to move the slideout manually because I am stuck. I can't work on the slide until I have enough room to remove the retention screw. It seems the manual over ride only works in one scenario. Pushing the slide is like pushing a car in park.
@KayGar Based on your comment, it sounds like you have an issue with motor 2. I assume you already went into the override mode and that didn't work? Again, based on your comment, my guess is motor 2 is not functioning and when you try to extend your slide, the motor 1 side goes out further than the motor 2 side and causing the the slide to jam. Eight red lights usually mean "Wire Short Between Controller and Motor". Have you tried to switch the motor 1 and motor 2 connections at the controller to see if the error code changes to motor 1? If so, it would most likely be a wiring issue. Couple other things to check: 1. Have you tried to access the retention screws from the outside of the RV? 2. Have you checked to make sure nothing is in the tracks or any obstructions under the floor that would prohibit the slide from extending? Here is a link to some Lippert troubleshooting videos and manuals, that may give you some additional troubleshooting ideas. support.lci1.com/in-wall-slide-out Hope this helps some Dan

@troybellair507 By a 1/3 code, I assume you mean motor 1 has a Low Battery code of 3? A fault code of 3 means there is less than 8V DC at the start of a cycle. Can you verify the voltage going to the controller? If that is good, can you verify the voltage going to battery 1? Dan
Service guy just left & said I needed new motors on both ends of slide bc only moves a few inches when I press the slide in/out button. He didn’t diagnose if one motor was bad over the other. Initially, front end of slide was out & back end was all the way in. He used some kind of override buttons attached to my controller while we were outside near the bay & got it to align & pulled completely in. Then, we went inside & used the button & that’s when he said bc it only moves a few inches, the motors are bad. I'm not a Schwintek expert but that doesn't sound right to me. It sounds like the service guy put your controller into "override" mode, which just bypasses the sensors. Good Tutorial Dan. What would I do if I have one motor that has gone bad completely. Manual override won't work in that case. Can one side be pushed in while the other side is brought in by the motor?
@robh063 That might be possible if you can keep the slide aligned and the sensors are bypassed. The other way is to disengage both motors and push the slide in. I've never tried it, and honestly hope I never have to, but in a pinch, it will work. Dan
Hi Dan, if I have a code #8, “a short between the slide control module and the slide” do you know what the procedures to fix are? Thanks in advance! Rick
@HighFlyerU2 this could be something like the cable going to one of the motors got pinched or shorted to ground. To verify, I would switch the cables from motor 1 and motor 2 going into the controller. (Put motor 1 connector into motor 2 connector and motor 2 connector into motor 1). If the fault code now shows the other motor, then you just confirmed it is a cable issue and most likely need to replace the cable. Here is a link to some good troubleshooting videos from Lippert: support.lci1.com/in-wall-slide-out Hope this helps and good luck Dan
I had the exact same error code to the #2 motor this summer on our brand-new travel trailer. Took the multi meter and checked the wire continuity. Continuity was fine, so no broken or loose wires. I replaced the #2 motor after trouble shooting, and the slide out works great. My Conclusion: #2 Schwintek motor failure.
Thanks for the video - very helpful! We developed a problem by trying to run the slides out with a low battery so the slides don't go out evenly. On the way out, one end seems to stop and I need to hold the button for the other end to go the final couple of inches. I've tried the in/out in/out process a few times but not sure it has corrected it as I think the controller is out of sync with the rotation counts. Couple of questions then if I may: 1/ does putting the controller into manual mode make it forget about the turn counts and so if the slide is completely all the way in we should be ok again if we put it in and out of manual mode? 2/ can you disconnect one of the motors from the controller to run just one of motors to line things up properly? Any help much appreciated!
@paulhampton1362 The manual override just provides 12v directly to the motors, it does not keep the motors in sync. I have never tried to disconnect one motor but I don't see why you couldn't, just be careful not to get the slide too far out of sync. Lippert has some good videos that may help explain things better than I can, check out this website support.lci1.com/in-wall-slide-out and click on the "Videos" menu option. @rachelsedely7361 congratulations on winning the auction, sorry for the issue you are having. If I understand correctly, you have 1 green flash and 8 red flashes?
