We love the Vroom Slide system and Tech Rv was a pleasure to deal with!
Yes, after a second Schwintek failure our Vroom install has worked flawlessly for a year and a half now. It took me a long time not to pucker up a bit after install when I ran the slide in or out. Schwintek scars run deep!

What year is your Allegro Bus? I have a 2017, but my two large slides are hydraulic. Only the two small slides are Schwintek. That said, yours looks like a newer model. Thanks for sharing the info!

For your viewers who still have the schwintek slide system... The only reliable way to resync your slide is to reset the controller. The in and out method with a slide is unreliable. To reset the controller, with the ignition in the accessory position, find the slide controller in one of your storage bays. With the slide all the way out or in, find the small black round button recessed in the controller. (I have better results with the slide all the way out) Press the button seven times and on the 7th press hold it in until the lights flash. This will reset the slide motors and the slide will track evenly on both sides and open or close flush. I find I have to do this about once every 2 weeks when traveling a lot.

This does not reset the controller, it bypasses the hall effect communication between the motors and forces them to run without its funky checks and balances. It will work but eventually will tear up the system, ask me how I know.

I’m in the market of having an RV built I see many brands but I also see many RUclips videos about horror stories the Tiffin, but it seems like more brand Tiffin is immaculate. When did you buy yours? Was it brand new or slightly used?
My biggest fear “ If I have a problem and I have paid them almost $1 million for rig and they do not stand their product. Tell me your experience with Tiffin or direct me to a brand that you recommend.
One would think that the insight shared at 4:13 is not new to Schwintek and that they would have already issued recalls and upgrades.
We love our Vroom slides. No more worries if and or when the slides will fail. They WORK!

What an excellent upgrade and the side by side comparison, wow! Tiffin should be putting these on all of the rigs they produce. It’s also nice to have a repair shop that is competent and so nice. On side note, his voice sounded so similar to Bobby’s ❤

Like others have said, Tiffin should be using this as OEM - if not across the line, then definitely on the Allegro Bus and Phaeton lines. Thanks for showing this one - good information and while costly, probably a very worthy upgrade.

Looks like a good system but how much harder is it to change out a motor with the 4 screws or bolts to get to.
I hated my schwintek slides. Good call replacing them.

So the roller bearings aren't carrying any weight, they just keep the gear engaged with the track teeth. This addresses the huge issues with Schwintek yet still doesn't address the other huge problem with slide-outs - the failure of coach manufacturers to properly support the box's weight with strong enough rollers and brackets against properly sturdy floor structures.

We had our Vroom installed in May and had some issues almost right away. The system has never failed but we are heading back through Tucson next month to hopefully square things away.

Comparing and contrasting Schwintek and Vroom is like doing the same with night and day. It seems like Vroom listened to Schwintek's customers and included all the recommendations in their alternative.

Schwinn tech is the cheapest way
My boss has a space craft semi conversion with 6 slide outs with the vroom it's sturdy and lasts
Unfortunately Thor bought tiffin and like everything Thor builds it's made cheap and low quality

I work on rv,so. Tge schwintek system is a constant battle. I have replaced complete systems tgat have chewd them selves up. I strongly believe that the schwintek system is not ment for full body slides.

We have 4 slides. Two slides are schwintek on our Allegro Bus. Two are those other ones.

Yes we are the company on this video. And yes we can do 2 slides in one visit. We set your appointment to do them back to back. So you can arrive the day before if you would like and sleep that night. Next day we install one slide system and we set you up again to sleep another night. Next day we do the second slide and set you up to sleep one more night. Next day we check everything and lubricate your slides and demo the system to you. And then you can head out😀

Do any RV manufacturers off this slide system as an option?
I really don’t know. I have heard that some are beginning to do that but I think the issue is vroom doesn’t build that many systems to support a manufacturer full-time, that’s just what I’ve heard.

Was it $5,000 for all slides or just the one you had problems with?? And, how many slides were fixed?
$5100 for the one slide replacement. As I mentioned I. The video, the other slide has not been a problem so for now just that 1.

How do the motors know when to stop?
When the slide reaches its stop points the motors stop. “Times out”
While the Vroom components look much beefier and reliable, I think the root problem is the Schwintek system is frequently installed incorrectly. I’d bet they’d install the Vroom poorly too.

I have a Swin.... never again. We need to stop buying RVs with them!! As soon as you see an RV that you are considering with one walk away and tell the salesperson why. Only when we stop buying them will the Rv manufacturers stop producing them.

Does Tech RV work on larger slides? When I talked to Vroom they told me they weren’t doing any slides over 25’. We have a Thor 2022 Aria 4000 with a very large passenger slide that has issues.
I’m not sure, if they don’t, it’s probably because the room does not have the exact parts built for that size slide, but give them a call and ask for Kim and she can advise if they do or not. Good luck, my friend.
A shame we need to pay to upgrade, why doesn’t expensive coach builder do it correct to begin with ?? $$$$$

How long did your Schwintec actually last? Already had my Schwintec replaced by dealer and still not right. Looking to go Vroom.

Thanks for the video. I am currently in Appleton Wisconsin at Fabel Repair shop having the Vroom system put on our Pasadena. Our large slide has never worked correctly since buying new.

Great Video, Tiffin should know by now. That the Schwintek can not support the weight of a full wall slide. At minimum it should have been a HTH slide. Good luck!

I'm glad I ran across this video. Much like your bedroom slide the 6' X 2' Schwintek in our old trailer never caused us a problem. Our new trailer has a super slide and every time we extend or retract it the creaks and pops make me wonder if this is the big one. I know it is not a matter of if but when it will fail and have decided at the first sign of wear I will have the Schwintek mechanism replaced.
When I first heard of the Vroom system the work was only being performed at the factory which is a very long way from me. I was unsure if authorized dealers would be of the same quality as the factory but this gives a better feeling about it.

Audis and Roxana have had our jayco 6 or 7 times for repair of our swintech slide. We had a complete system rebuild first time out it faild

We used Tech RV to swap out our one Schwintek in April after we lived with the slide closed for a total of 7 months over two separate Schwintek failures. Love the Vroom. Kim and Dwayne are awesome! They'd be the only place I'd go for general repair if I couldn't get to Red Bay for some reason.

Why aren't RV manufacturers dumping Schwintek for Vroom slides? They knowingly are putting in substandard products and forcing owners to spend even more money fixing their poor choices. Time for manufacturers to start taking care of customers! This industry needs some serious regulations.

I have a Thor Super C and I can't explain the anxiety I get when it's time to hit the slide button. And I had that exact scenario where the anchor bolt for the motor fell out and motor twisted.

Yeah, I think it really depends on what type of slide it is, we had a full wall slide that was hydraulic our first Tiffin and never had an issue with it so I think it does depend on what type of system the RV has. Hey thanks for watching🙌

Vroom looks like the proper slide system for all slides. We didn't have an issue with our Schwintek but it was a much smaller slide. Now Vroom needs to fix that price!

Looks like the price went UP. Use to be $3000 per slide. Schwintech seems to be fine on smaller slides and operated correctly. If my rig had a full wall that would be the first upgrade
