Tretch has the best diplomacy lines, though. So i suppose that's one saving grace. " Treaty-pact possible, but only if you stand in this exact position!"
HAIL! The Empire would like me to inform everyone this video is a fabrication for this no such thing as "ratmen" or "skaven" please go on your day in sigma's name
Tretch provides one ability that Legend didn't mention, the vanguard ability for his entire army. When I've got a weapons team army that allows for better positioning on the battlefield to start. Not that it would change the ranking but does add some benefit.
Indeed, vanguard deployment is huge, but mostly for melee oriented armies. I guess someone taking advantage of the skaven range weaponry would not mind that much vanguard deployment
I can see Ikit as Palps, considering he shoots lightning and has access to WMD, but Skrolk as Vader? Yes, he has a wheezing voice, but Vader didn't smell bad (or did he...)
Thing I like about Tretch is that he’s the sanest of the legendary skavens. The rest are (with the possible exception of sniktch) just not quite right in the head.
Just wait until Thanquol gets added to the game. Have you ever asked what it would be like if Teclis was a giant rat that snorted warpstone cocaine? Wonder no longer.
We we have no idea what you mean! Stick him dirty virulent plagues - NO antisocial disdistancing! Throw him in mutagen he needs 2 heads to think better better! strap him to BOOM BOOM rocket! YES YES!
These aren't artilleries, these are dinosaurs which happen to carry ballistas... The dinosaurs are the main thing here, the artillery is just a bonus...
I feel like Tretch should be given some credit for the ability to give vangaurd deployment to the entire army. I've had a lot of games where I decimated the enemy archers and artillery immediately because I put rat ogres and hell pits into their back line. I don't think this was mentioned in the video.
The quick faction rundown at the end was cool and I think it could be added to future lord ranking videos, sometimes a lord is better than the faction they're in and vice versa. Especially for newer players it would be interesting to have a general idea of the faction power.
Wasn't Tretch's entire thing in the lore that he was a great strategist? Like a Skaven Sun Tzu? I feel like they could have given him more unique mechanics to reflect that instead of just making him blow
Well he does get vanguard deployment for his army like Vlad which is really good for a weapon's team. I confederated him into my Moulder campaign and gave him an army just to see if I can make use out of him. He ended up being the most useful along with Throt himself.
Great to see Skrolk getting some love for a change. When I'm playing other Skaven clans, he's actually the one I prefer to grab more than even Ikit Claw. Having the ability to straight-up recruit plague priests with not just vermintide, but maxed plague and arcane conduit? Insane. Each new army from that point feels like it's online immediately. He's even surprisingly decent in melee (read: at tying down enemy units while you shoot them), with little to no skill investment.
Glad to see my boi Skrolk getting some love, i do believe he's quite underrated. Notably, recruiting plague priests at such a high level is really valuable. Also good job on including a brief comparison of the various clan mechanics at the end; these comparison vids are really useful when picking which campaign to try next, or which DLC to buy
@@michael35889 I would highly recommend playing with 2 mods - Recruit Defeated Legendary Lords + Re-Skill confederated Lords /it applies to Defeated Lords too....True it takes out the thrill of racing against time, but in my last 3 skaven campaigns Skrolk got deleted within first 30turns, there is no way I could ever confederated him in time....and you get the bigger chance to get those juicy trait of far away LL as the mods applies to AI too....
One thing in defence of Tretch - Vanguard deployment for ALL his army is very useful for arty and weapon teams, cause it gives much more options to find a good place for them. For example, there is a map, when you and enemy has a small deployment area at right corners, but there is a big high hill at the left-bottom with one narrow entrance. Putting catapults and weapon teams there allowed me to win a lot of High Elf invasions.
Hmm could be interesting yeah. Don't think it's that easy for LM besides the number 6 and 5 spot (gotta be Tiq Taq Toe and kroxi boi). Top 1 might be mazdamundi and number 2 might be kroq gar. Strongest Faction is clearly Cult of Sotek, but since that isn't factored in I'd expect Tehenhauin to probably come in third (though he'd probably be number 2 in battle power behind Mazdamundi). Mb TOP 2, but not too familiar with Kroq Gar and Mazdamundi. I'd guess Gor'Rok is number 4.
Legend said he will only make such videos if new DLC for the faction comes out. So no Lizardmen anytime soon but WE viodeo will be up a few days later.
@@sonyponygaming2471 Oh, not facetious at all. I think that's pretty widely agreed as well. Let me elaborate. We are talking purely faction here (separating it from Tehenhauin, since you can always confederate legendary lords anyways). CoS has by far the strongest campaign mechanic of the LM. Arguably, it is the strongest only by the merit of it being one out of two for LM, but I genuinely think their sacrificial altar is probably around the better ones out there in general. Now why is it actually that good? Personally I love that it boosts Red Crested Skinks to a point where they are actually viable, even on legendary, but that's not really why it's good. The main reason is that Tehenhauin gets access to a follower that reduces upkeep for the entire army ... and you can equip this on heroes as well. It's the only lizardmen faction that can get free armies basically. Which is massive for a faction who's biggest weakness is economy. There's some other good stuff there as well like global growth, movement rate or public order, but the followers are the big one.
I remember Legend saying that he won't do lords comparisons until the next dlc is out. And just yesterday I thought 'Maybe we'll get one soon. Probably skaven or wood elves.'
Over the last week or so he repeatedly said he'd like to do them before the dlc comes out on stream. Wood Elves and Skaven that is. Seems like he got to Skaven first (even though he originally thought about doing welves first).
I think we're gonna need a Starting faction power comparison video in the future, cuz some lords aren't that good but their specific faction mechanics are amazing.
Really good video Legend, I appreciate that you briefly discussed the faction mechanics and how they rank up that is something I feel has been missing from your other ranking videos. Keep up the great work.
Awesome video again! I'd really like an added faction rating as well, if you wanna make that. Because, especially with Skaven, Ikit Claw is especially strong if he has his forbidden workshop etc
I respect your decision to not put clan mechanics in for the lord comparison but you must consider that CA balance's the lords in accordance to the faction mechanic so I'm not surprised that the scaven's got these scores at all, since most of them have there own unique mechanic that is incredibly useful. Great video, love your work and i cant wait for the next.
I was actually genuinely expecting Skrolk to be no. 1 because he's such a powerful asset even when not playing as Pestilens. Weapons teams armies with a bunch of extra plague priests recruited with full summoning capability right out of the gate? Yes please!
Great video, love this series, the only thing worth mentioning and it feels like Legend is aware himself is that it would be great to have faction comparison on top of that. Maybe it is worthwhile to make a bit shorter video for all factions, like Skaven, where the faction bonuses and powers are evaluated, with some points given from starting legendary lord.
Tretch can provide a factionwide bonus, but you either have to start as him or acquire him before he gets his Lucky Skullhelm. During the quest for the Skullhelm he gets a choice which applies a trait which provides a factionwide effect. Because the AI doesn't do the quest it doesn't get the trait. They're not very good, but one does give -5% build cost factionwide.
Thank you Legend rn isnt the greatest time but I've been watching all your videos every day and catching some of your steams which a nice break from everything else
After 1.1k hours of playtime I did my first Skaven campaign ever as Clan Skryre and on legendary difficulty. Never thought I'd say that, but it was super fun as they're a straight up broken race. Lots of utility, always ambushing and super strong units. The fact that you can boost up main cities to level 5 is insane, too. Funny thing was that Rictus defeated the Dark Elves and ruled the north, Mors and Eshin did their thing in the south, while I went up to the north into Reiland so in the end basically the entire map was Skaven.

@Несгибаемый Оджас It was recruitment capacity for Chieftains +2 (new hero type). The special building in the capital should also make them availible from the start, if I remember correctly.
Skrolk as the #2 isn't surprising to me. I've always said he was a really strong LL, and the faction plague mechanics really do strengthen the faction as a whole and make what would otherwise be difficult battles trivial.
I kinda figured Tretch, especially with tomorrow having all stormvermin give Encourage on Skaven (counterintuitive to his retreating and losing buffs, but still) would put him higher than Queek at least
Nice video. Agree generally. Maybe I'd give +1 point to Queek's factionwide score for public order bonus. Also Tretch has vanguard deployment for the whole army. It's super useful for weapon team army, so I'd give him 7/10 for commanding.
Was anyone surprised Ikit landed first pick, he's everything that's great in the skaven roster and is exactly how legend likes to play. Range, range, and more destructive range.
But i want to be sneaky-beaky like :C. Snickh my waifu. He so many times turn almost impossible situations into win. And yes, ninja squad with 2-3 assasins who almost singlehandedly capture whole stormhold is pretty good you know) Or wipe out enemy lord in heat of battle and escape with(i don`t know original name of it, but in our localisation it`s something like "rat prowess") trough disrupted infantry. But most importatly, you can fight when you want to cuz all of eshin clan will have smoke screens AND your runners has armor piercieng attacks.
Great video man, been waiting for this. Couple of surprises, but it mostly makes sense. Feels like Snikch should get a bit more commanding power for Contract Loopholes, since it saves you more money than Skrolk or Ikit's upkeep reduction traits in the long term. But my army compositions might just be different from yours, so fair enough. Love the videos, man.
snikch also has a stat reduction to enemies when he ambushes. also, queek on release 10/10. old menace below 1shotting necrofex was actually a thing lol.
Blind: infinite power I hope one day Skrolk gets the Mortis Engine effect, his Aura of Pestilence ability is not so good. Also he has the diplomatic relation perk with all skaven faction that the grey seers get.
Tretch needed just a little bit more of buffs to be the perfect meme Lord. He has a peculiar luck and the capacity of failing upward, make him replenish more troops after he lost a settlement or give him a chance to "redirect" attacks towards other Skaven Lords..something like that. Or give him even more ambush related shenanigans
Okay im glad you mentioned it at the end of the video cause was gonna say that thanos snap is like so op it would make death master a easy 10 out of 10 but taking the faction out of it I can see completely where your going and agree.
thats pretty much what he´s designed for, killing lords and sorcerer and not letting them escape. he´s also the only triple sword unit so in some animations he hits his target 3 times at once, almost oneshotting some low level sorcerer
When you went through that list I wasnt surpised once :) Since we exclude Workshops / Pits etc ! - as a side note for those reading this ... it took me 2 years to realize that u can spread pleague on your own encampent as Pestilance and it actualy boosts you :)

The number of times Legend had to tell people on stream to wait for this.
Was anyone surprised Ikit landed first pick, he's everything that's great in the skaven roster and is exactly how legend likes to play. Range, range, and more destructive range.
I knew he would be top and I knew trench would be bottom
I have been waiting for this
Finally the most awaited video of the year!!!
Blind: infinite power
I hope one day Skrolk gets the Mortis Engine effect, his Aura of Pestilence ability is not so good.
"I don't find myself revolting THAT much", ya same here man :/ sad times.
Okay im glad you mentioned it at the end of the video cause was gonna say that thanos snap is like so op it would make death master a easy 10 out of 10 but taking the faction out of it I can see completely where your going and agree.
I like these videos. Can you do one on Vampire Counts and make the argument for Ghorst being a Legendary Hero so we can get a new LL :)
"I don't find myself revolting that much"
Well, it's good to have a positive self-image.
Finaly a LL power comparison, I love this type of videos.
Now we need lizardman legendary lords comparison 🙂
I really like these videos. I wish you would do the other factions. Empire, Bretonnia, Chaos, Dwarves....etc.
I'm surprised you didn't factor/mention Snikch's good animations in chasing down routing single entity units
thats pretty much what he´s designed for, killing lords and sorcerer and not letting them escape. he´s also the only triple sword unit so in some animations he hits his target 3 times at once, almost oneshotting some low level sorcerer
Im sure you're going to hear this a lot but, I do hope you do more of these.
Tretch's placement was quite obvious. I was, however, surprised by Snikch and Skrolk. Still loved the vid, Legend.
I would really like to see this type of comparison for factions excluding legendary lords.
When you went through that list I wasnt surpised once :) Since we exclude Workshops / Pits etc ! - as a side note for those reading this ... it took me 2 years to realize that u can spread pleague on your own encampent as Pestilance and it actualy boosts you :)
Tretch should have an ability that allows him to summon Stormvermin, similar to what Throt has that allows him to summon Rat Ogres.
You should do a video on your favorite doomstacks for every faction, not just the top 5. I want to see what a Skaven doomstack looks like from the cheeselord.
