The way the dance scene is set up. The colour of her outfit, the petals falling around them, his suit. It's like a wedding dance; a form of a happy ending. But never could.
Been sceptic to this episode watching it for the first minutes. At the end chills went down my spine. Imo, that was the best episode of all Arcane 1 and 2. This scene is magic. Can't even describe my emotions and feelings.
Jesus fucking christ. You can see the pain and shame he feels in asking because he knows he's indulging in something that doesn't exist in his timeline and that he knows he'll have to give up. Despite his own internal conflictions, Powder - not knowing any better - sees the unknown-to-her pain he's experiencing, doesn't question it for a moment, and leans in to quell whatever pain she can. I'm obsessed with this.
I do think Powder kind of knew something was up with Ekko after checking his research with Heimendinger. Or perhaps suspects something. That's why she didn't find any of his struggles or reactions weird, she just embraced them. Which makes it all the more tragic when you think about it.
At 2:13 when Ekko looks up is both the best, and the most heart wrenching part for me. Those eyes just tell so much. It’s like he’s being teased with the life he always dreamed of. He wants to stay in that moment forever, but he knows he doesn’t belong there. He doesn’t know anything that happened, or put in any work leading up to that kind of perfect reality. Even though he basically replaced himself, he might as well have taken over somebody else’s life entirely and he probably feel like he doesn’t deserve it, leaving the other “fake” Ekko to continue living out his dream life. “This is how it all could have turned out?”
Best episode of the third act and together with the second act and the ending of the first season they remain the peak. Arcane is a masterpiece. Ladies and gentlemen now let's cry together. P.S. Jinx a magnificent character.
This is such a beautiful scene. It gives ekko some hope and even helps him relearn to care about everyone that affected him in his life. Thank you Arcane writers!
Something I really like about this scene is that the exact moment they start dancing, the room is suddenly empty. Symbolizing how they feel like the only ones there. They're both there for each other. They're both comfortable with each other and aren't afraid to act like themselves with others around.
Their time together was so short (in terms of it being one episode), but they really sold the chemistry between these two. It's crazy how well they executed this because Powder is a girl Ekko's known all his life and simultaneously a complete stranger to him, which really helps build up on their connection. Getting to see non-Firelight, non-Arcane tragedy Ekko was such a treat, this episode was probably the most emotionally impactful for me in S2 (besides seeing poor Jinx falling into despair), probably the most in the series.
I think Ekko needed this. Not just as a “what if” situation, but a reminder of why he’s fighting and what’s important to him. This is the Undercity and life he dreamed of, and now he’s going to try to achieve that in his world.
I believe Powder knows, that Ekko's a time traveler stuck on her timeline. She knew it right from the beginning. Look at her worried face the whole episode. She also discovered it in his book while peeking at his notes. And wow! In her voice is so much suspicion when she asked him: "Where did you learn those moves!" Reminds me of the Fiona in Shrek 2 (Since do you dance?). And when she says HE got lines (not: YOU got lines), like she knows her Ekko is not present. And the most beautiful think: Ekko knows she and says a subtle goodbye. This scene is beautiful!!!!
They may have also told her, Ekko and Heimer told her that they're from a different world where Vi is alive, she got sad, that's what they did to convince her to help create the the ZDrive.
Well the "he's got lines", referring to someone in third person like that is just kind of a flirting thing some people do irl. She was just teasing him. Outside of that tho, i do agree that she 100% knew from almost the very beginning.
Is no one going to mention that the scene was animated at 4 Frames per Second. The exact amount of time Ekko can rewind!? It's so beautiful. Absolutely stellar work.
Rewatching all of Arcane later, I don't believe I'll be able to handle the emotional rollercoaster of S02 episodes 5-6-7 back-to-back without that seven day break
Man, that episode was magical. Every time when ı watch this scene my heart shattered into pieces. With the scene, quality of animation and perfect combination with music... damn
"Can we just pretend like it's the first time?" For this precious and magnificent Ekko, it was the very first time; and this precious, sweet, and adorable Jinx knew it. The tenderness and poignancy of that moment still makes me cry. What an indescribably awesome episode this was! ❤️👍❤️
Despite existing in what would be the perfect version of his life, not for ONE second Ekko considered staying, because there were people were he came from who needed him. He is the only character in Arcane who is 100% a hero
This episode and scene might be my favorite animated thing ever, I think I will watch this scene for years and hold it close to me for the art that it is.
The "i've never seen you give up on anything Ekko" line is probably what seals the deal for Ekko to go back I think. To leave a literal heaven behind to save his timeline just shows how much of a GOAT ekko is
I very much prefer this scene compared to the Vi and Caitlyn scene in episode 8. This felt so much more romantic and raw. It felt like true love over lust. I would rather see Ekko and Powder/Jinx be happy with each other than Vi and Cait.
Absolute perfection. The way everyone fades away as she approaches. The way he's not a very good dancer. The way she compliments him anyway. It wasn't just his heaven, it was hers too. Her timeline Ekko hadn't lost her to know how much he needed her or was too obsessed with his work. When he left, and she saw who he was, and knew what could be.
I love them so fucking much, damn you Riot, damn you Netflix, damn all of you who wrote those series, this episode is living rent free in my mind, Ekko and Powder deserved it better
In the scene with their kiss, Ekko says, 'You ever wish you could just stay in one moment?' The dance scene between Ekko and Jinx is animated at 4 frames per second, and 4 seconds represents the limit of his time rewind. It feels as though 4 frames per second symbolizes the limit of how long he can stay in a single moment.
One thing is that he needed to do was not just correct his timeline which is noble , but he also went back to insure he didnt give up on Jinx . But they kinda wrote her out before he had any chance or scenes with her after he came back , other than him stopping her from y'know .
There’s a parallel how the framing of the big shoes walking is a callback to the Ekko vs Jinx fight scene that began with Jinx walking in with that same framing but with different lighting; here in an AU they’re having fun at a tech party but in the prime universe they start as enemies. The context of the walk completely changes the tone, too. Here it’s a party fog entrance, back then in the prime universe it was an intimidation. Both are confident entrances, but this one’s framed in good light, literally and figuratively. Also the low frame rate copies the well known fight sequence from the earlier bombastic fight scene between them, and there’s very likely other hidden parallels in the details there, the entrance making just the start. Unrelated, it would actually have been more agreeable if this episode ended here and the season unironically ended on this scene with zero elaboration. Like end on a high note where it really doesn’t make sense but it is real. Arcane still had it, that reality, here, even though it’s alternate. I’m not saying the later episodes were bad comparatively but it’s arguable they were disagreeable. The way I think of it, if they’re going to leave it open ended they may as well end it someplace when two characters have some complete closure.
The scene hurts extra if you understand the french song " -But my best enemy is you, run from me, the worst is you and me - (female voice) And if you're still looking for my voice, forget me, the worst is you and me"
Man what a show, They made us live with a wonderful animation and at the same time they killed us with one of the deepest and most intense stories ever written. I've never felt so emotionally involved in a tale. Congratulations to all the people who worked on this masterpiece: "Arcane" has made history and will remain a gem carved forever in the Olympus not only of animation but of the purest cinema. Most of the people will probably only realize in a few years how lucky we were to witness such a monumental work. Now I'm retiring to therapy for a few months. P.S. Jinx a magnificent character and I think she's still alive (many clues) but it's more of a hope than a certainty. (and wish we could see more episodes of this alternate universe..)

Ekko has a white step father, he has blonde hair (lol), he is super smart (funny) and in the world of crime he is actually good (yea ok). He also lusts after a white girl, who of course finds him attractive. He is desperately trying to be white, even though he can never be. This envy and desire for white gеnеtiсs that can't be achieved is perfectly presented in Ekko

@@Stan-jq8jr bro what
@@Stan-jq8jr This is mad projection lil bro. Nothing about this is about race. Ekko's hair color isn't even blonde, it's white, you're blind 💀Humor isn't determined by genetics, like what, especially not ethnicity. This has got to be the worst analysis of a character 2024. Like lil bro thinks you can't love another person of a difference race 😭🙏You're just racist af.
this episode hitted me too hard
The switch from diegetic to non diegetic music was pretty cool.
It's a masterpiece
Heavily agree
i had to google what diegetic means but yea I agree
The only diegetic word I know is diabetes
@@hashibulislam25 There's also gas.
I don't know if someone already said it, but the voice actor of Ekko delivery of that last line... wow. The way he slightly break his voice when he says time, you can tell he's even afraid or ashamed of asking. So much talent!
I caught that too! It sounds almost like an improv though it's as if the VA himself choked on raw emotion knowing how much this means to Ekko❤
I noticed that too. The voice actor really nailed the feeling that Ekko really loves her when that break happens. It's something he's ashamed to ask, but he desperately needs/wants it.
I love every bit of this scene. It's so beautiful and wholesome.
After season 1 I learned to watch Arcane by myself. I don't want my kids to see their dad crying 😊
Aww i think its healthy if they see dad cry
@@elizabethng5405 not all the time and it depends on their age too. kids need to be able to think that their parents are invincible to a degree until they're old enough to know better
Also i heavily advise against watching Arcane with your kids.
It's absolute Peak, but just having a glancing look at Viktor, Shimmered up noxians or all the corpses here is gonna have anything below 12 sleeping very unsoundly for days.
@@justascarecrow6988 not mentioning all the sexual scenes...
You're so real for this 😭🫶🏼
This episode was so good, I'm glad we got to see more Ekko on the screen and a different version of what powder could of been.
Nah ekko vs jinx fight was also epic
I’m not crying! You are crying !! 😭
We're all crying 😢
These damn allergies 🤧
Нам нужен большой запас платков
I can only explain this as bittersweet. Like a comfort you can only watch.
Why this scene last 10 hours?
Only 10? WoW, It feels shorter. I really hoped It lasted forever 😢
I want it to be forever mate
I will be stuck here for years. Just like Edgerunner. Thank you for fueling my trauma.
This is the magic of arcane music. It give impact to us. They always nailed it.
This scene will be forever stuck with me
This Scene is Absolute Perfection and Cinema
Man, the way they dress makes me feel like they're dancing at their own wedding. It's just so beautiful
At that moment he fell in love with powder all over again.....
I will never in my life recover from this emotionally, physically, morally or otherwise
The best moment in the first season is when they fight each other.
The best moment in the second season is when they dance together.
This scene is just so beautiful that I can't stop watching ❤
The sorrow in Ekko's eyes, the empathy in Powder's. She sees him. Beautiful work.
This scene hits home for me.
Somewhere out there, in the multiverse, there's a version of me who's living a happy life.
I wanna cry--
We dont know if alternate universes really exist for real tho. So stay strong and try to live your best life king/queen ✌️
This was the most beautiful moment of all Arcane, everything was perfect, even the song!! ⌛💣
I love this scene so much
Saddest scene in whole show btw.
This hits my heart
Rewatching all of Arcane later, I don't believe I'll be able to handle the emotional rollercoaster of S02 episodes 5-6-7 back-to-back without that seven day break
I won't charge this scene a coin for living in my mind
Love how Powder walking in the beginning of the video is parallel to the Jinx introduction we got in Season 1 when she bombed the ship.
It was romantic back then
I can't believe they made this scene 10 hours long
Man, that episode was magical.
Song is just an Excellent Choice Im Absolutely INFATUATED with it Combined with the Moment 🔥🥺🙏🏽
This might be the perfect scene.
Just might be
This is great as it was, Jinx and Isha sisterhood scene and Vander,vi, jinx and Isha hug.
@@nefthalimedinayes YES! the Vander group hug was AWESOME.
@@nefthalimedinathis is the complete opposite from their amazing fight scene.
It hurts. What a fucking show!!
the lyrics couldn't be more perfect
Jinx = I can fix her
Powder = She can fix me
fr 😂
just making a grown man that dont cry eaisly in life and making him cry 4 times in 2 acts is just crazy and too much i will miss that type of crying
I cannot stop re- watching this . "Can we just pretend like its the first time".....
Every time you watch this, pretend like it’s the first time.😢
The "i've never seen you give up on anything Ekko" line is probably what seals the deal for Ekko to go back I think. To leave a literal heaven behind to save his timeline just shows how much of a GOAT ekko is
Thank you for titling her as Powder! That’s exactly who this is, Jinx never was in this reality…
Honestly? Best moment of the entire series for me. Ekko is the GOAT. Entire timeline would've failed if not for him.
The fact that they have the best scene in both S1 and S2
This scene was just pure love, I cried my eyes out bcs it was so beautiful
I just found out from someone's comment that this scene was in 4 fps because Ekko can go back in time 4 seconds.
Somewhere in Ionia, Jhin breathes heavily.
You may ask if you're confused about this comment.
I cant stop watching this...this show.....this scene...the music with the visuals and the romance...makes me tear up..
Arcane gave us this wonderful episode, which we didn't know we needed so hard
The scene hurts extra if you understand the french song
" -But my best enemy is you, run from me, the worst is you and me
- (female voice) And if you're still looking for my voice, forget me, the worst is you and me"
Ekko sitting alone at the Spot where they kissed at the last episode broke something deep in my heart.
(and wish we could see more episodes of this alternate universe..)
goosebumps. and stromae did such a great job again with the vibe
such a good easter egg to the french company's roots. they used to make music videos like this all the time hence the french music.
Это три самые счастливые минуты за два сезона Аркейна. Давайте просто остановимся здесь и запомним Экко и Джинкс такими же счастливыми!
This hits different after watching the final episode 😭
I was rooting for my boy Ekko the whole episode let's gooooo
I know theres a lot of videos explaining this but the 4 fps dance matching the 4 seconds Ekko can use the Z-drive,Powder dancing like her mother, sacrificing love and happiness to save his reality....This is a masterpiece artwork here.
This has left a mark in me, i resonate so much with these scene. 😢
