    Great work and keep perserveering!Great to see the boys getting involved too! One tip regarding mounting your wheel on roof horizontally...i was advised once by an old boy to run a bead of any old grease along the rim of wheel to prevent any rust from forming from the standing water/moisture that settles(appreciate you have that quality protective cover!).....your welcome!

      Really appreciate the comment, thank you. It was slightly stressful and did a good job of emptying my pockets just before Christmas but at least it's sorted now! More vids to come soon, I promise! Thanks again.

    nice work! I do worry about having the spare on the roof, weight up high and as you demonstrated, it needed 4 people to get it up there and probably the same to get it down? Thats all OK untill you need it on a muddy wet track in the middle of the night while its raining (I only ever break down at night in the rain) so I am making a swing out spare wheel carrier for the back, details on my channel!

      I wasn’t convinced myself. It was either the roof or no spare for this trip and having talked to the other guys going to the Arctic we agreed that we’d all lend a hand if any of us broke down. It won’t be a permanent feature as you’re right, I wouldn’t be able to use it on my own. Very keen to see your swing away as this was the alternative. There are a few draw backs with them (exit angle, parking sensors etc) but it’s still something I’m very much consider when I get back from my trip, I’ll keep an eye on your channel. Thanks for the comment and for watching.

      Larger tyres won’t fit in the wheel well under the loadspace, really no option in a L322. I have a full sized L405 emergency spare, which is lighter instead of a full sized, on the roof.

    Hi there ,thanks for the great videos , if you had a suspension fault or an air bag leak would the car bottom out on the tyres leaving you stranded as they are bigger than standard , sorry it’s a bit of a negative question !

    • @Dadulthood
      @Dadulthood  17 дней назад +1

      Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you're enjoying the content. Not a negative question don't; it's something I've considered and have since experienced anyway. The short answer is yes - if it bottoms out, it's not going anywhere. When I'm back from the Arctic I'm looking at doing the hard lift kit which actually add welded metal spacers above each of the air bags, front and back. This I think would negate that issue. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for another great video. I have a 2012 L322 which I am putting a dual battery in the boot as you have done. I am part of 4x4 response in Cornwall and I will use the second battery for all of my amber auxiliary lights which I have around the vehicle and the roof beacons, which are all LED. I am looking to purchase a similar charger to the one you have, by the way your link no longer works. Should I just have it as continually charging the dual battery when the engine is running, or can you switch it so that I only charge it when the second battery needs a top up? Also, can you reverse the system so that the second battery can boost the start battery? Keep up the good work.

      Hi Baz, thanks for the comment. It's quite a simple system (being Ali Express) so I leave it continually charging, it's clever enough not to over charge. It can't be used in reverse I'm afraid. I do have a set up for that which I haven't shown yet which I can use in an emergency, but that utilises the Bluetti Station I have and the cable that is used with my solar charger - I hope I don't have to ever use it as it would be a faff. The links on AE only ever work for a short while but if you search for that charger you'll find it. Let me know how you get on and if I can be of any further help. Thanks for watching!

      @ Thanks very much for the info. I have a Ecoflow system which I could use if I needed. Could you give me the name and model number of the charger please as it wasn’t clear in your video. Please keep the videos going. Really interesting, although I’m not sure I could do the sleeping in my vehicle bit. I’m a bit old for that. I tried camping last year. I now have a tent for sale! lol.

      Hi Baz, I don't have an exact model number as it's bit burried in the car at the moment, however this is an updated link to Ali Express www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007177391167.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.13.70dc5ooT5ooT3Y&algo_pvid=8e5495d4-7017-4ce9-9573-7e26333b7b47&algo_exp_id=8e5495d4-7017-4ce9-9573-7e26333b7b47-6&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21GBP%21160.17%2180.59%21%21%211396.42%21702.62%21%4021038e6617371101280316010e3ff1%2112000039710106163%21sea%21UK%214810747255%21X&curPageLogUid=TT4Zhh5XZUqc&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch%7Cquery_from%3A
      If this stops working, you can keyword search using: 3MTR 12V DC To DC Dual Battery Charger Kits Built-In Solar MPPT Voltage Sensitive READY MADE LEAD For Caravan Camper Van
      This should work for you. Thanks

    good stuff. personally, i couldn't justify relocating the spare to the roof rack (would block my solar panel). i was able to ditch the subwoofer, that sucked anyway, and put in my second 100ah lifepo4 in that space. using all renogy kit. fingers crossed.

    • @Dadulthood
      @Dadulthood  17 дней назад +1

      It wasn't an easy decision, although my options were limited. Have a spare on the roof rack, or don't have a spare. I am considering a hitch mounted swing-away system but I don't have a tow bar hitch currently. There are also quite a few drawbacks to having those. Thanks for the comment, and for watching!
