Welcome to Dadulthood! Here, with my two teenage sons, we spend time together learning, and finding adventure. We're not the kind of family to sit still, so we're always trying create, fix, or find new things. Installing the headlining in my Range Rover L322
Very glad this project is finished! It wasn't particularly easy but boy was it worth it. With the help from my eldest son, we managed to get it all installed without too many problems! What do you think?

Hi mate I want do same where can I buy this kit can you send me a link
thanks - the kneeling on back of seat worked for quick fix -
Looks really nice!
Just done this today on one of my customers cars is a fun job lol i used a mirror and screw driver once gained access to the door lock your video was a great help thanks.
I’m glad it was of use! Not an easy job at all but there aren’t really any other options! Thanks for watching!
Whew… quite the job. Auxbeams are really good - I have some on my Ural. When I installed fog lamps and driving lights on my rover, I just tapped the relays into the wiring loom behind a headlight. When I turn on my factory fog lights, the auxiliary fog lights come on as well. Same for the driving lights - tied into the high beam circuit. Much easier, but not independent controlled like you are doing. I enjoy your videos!
It was quite a lot of work but well worth it and I’ve learnt a lot about auto electrics! It definitely would be easier to tap straight into the existing wiring to trigger with the high beams alone, however I’ve been told that some countries insist that you must be able to turn them off manually or something along those lines. As I was doing the headlining anyway, I took the opportunity to go to town on the wiring as you’ll see in the later videos! Really impressed with Auxbeam; they’ve been reliable and I still think they were great value for money. Really appreciate the comment, and you watching my videos, thank you!
Great video and brilliant location for the camera.
I appreciate the comment, thanks for watching!
Can you fit TMPS with those wheels?
Yup. I bought new sensors rather than transferring them from my old wheels.

Useful videos, thank you! Sat with a roll of fabric in the study behind me waiting to do my headliner, As, Bs, Cs. Similar predicament re the jesus handles and sun visors. Toying with the idea of buying some fabric dye spray paint stuff for the visors. Handles I'm guessing will just have to be a paint process or leave them as is. Thinking any finish might struggle with durability as a high wear area.
I’m really glad that you’ve found them useful, take your time and you’ll be amazed at the final finish. I’m already learning to live with the cream visors and handles although I would like to do something with them. I’m going to investigate if any other LR models use similar handles at least and see if they have them in Black. The visors are very specific although my Porsche Cayenne had a very similar set up so I’m going to look at those too. I just don’t think it’ll be worth painting them, as you say, they are high ware areas and I don’t think it’ll last long. Best of luck and do share some photos once you’re done!!
@Dadulthood well as it happens I too have a first generation Cayenne, so I could have a look at comparing the two? I've gone with a dark grey finish headliner so the contrast against the darker material probably won't be quite as stark Vs black. I shall share pics yes. Was hoping to do this weekend. It's stripped ready to go however the wife's SLK has snapped it's exhaust, so more urgently requires my attention. I need to have a go at the IPA and scraper as you've done with yours to try and get rid of the last of the little glue balls. Struggled to figure out how to deal with those but your method looked very effective!
@@Dadulthood also consider the E53 generation X5 for sun visor 👍

Thank you for this. My Range Rover sport has just died and I am now looking at replacing it with an L322. I am part of a 4x4 Response group, so my boot is full of kit, including a leisure battery, an EcoFlow, collapsible cones, tow stripes etc. etc. Looking at the L322 and what you have done, I will hopefully be able to loose my leisure battery and all the control box stuff for my Amber beacons etc. so I am now in the planning stages, so your videos were very useful. Thanks.
Hi Baz, thanks for the feedback! Be picky when buying an L322, much like when buying an L320. There are loads on the market now and they are so cheap that it can be difficult to weed out the good ones. Most things are reasonably easy to fix, just avoid the majorly rust ones or ones with any signs of water ingress from the sunroof. The leaks themselves aren't difficult fixes, but the water damage to the looms/ECUs can be a royal PITA. You'll spend months chasing a problem with suspension which ends up being a corroded wire in the footwell lol. Also, although my second battery has worked well for my fridge et al, I have now added a Bluetti Charger 1 (video coming) which will then allow me to power a Bluetti (or others actually) powerstation. This is because I needed quite a lot more power to run my diesel heater for an upcoming trip to the Arctic Circle. Good luck with the search, and thanks for watching!
@@Dadulthood Thanks for that. After owning two L320’s I am aware of the quirks of Range Rovers. I will have a very good look around the car before I purchase anything, I may even get an AA inspection done first. I think I will buy from a dealer so at least I have some comeback this time. My last L320 which died on Sunday had been a good car for over two years. Just coming up to 111,000 miles. Regularly serviced by a LR independent, but without notice the crankshaft let go. Now it will be up for Spares or Repairs. At the moment I have an Ecoflow Delta, which I run a small battery charger from to top up my leisure battery. All of my Amber strobe lights and matrix signs run from that. It is also very handy having 230v available if I need it for the caravan. I charge the Ecoflow with an Ecoflow alternator generator which comes straight off the vehicle battery and when the engine is running, it charges the Ecoflow at 800 watts. So it doesn’t take too long. I am hoping to transfer that set up to the L322. The one thing I will miss will be the extra storage under the back seats that I have in the L320. I like your storage build in the boot. I may try something like that, for just one side as I need to get the dogs in as well. Keep up the good work. Thanks. Baz

Hi. Where did u get purchase the lift rods from?
I took a punt and bought some cheap ones off eBay, they’ve done ok so far!
@@Dadulthood cheers. What's the handling like with them?
@@apps7689 I misread your first comment sorry, I thought you meant the height sensors!! Soz. The lift rods were from Proud Rhino. When I raised it the full 2.5” it does make the car quite unsteady on motorways so I ended up dialling mine down a bit using the GAP tool. I think I’m running my standard height now at about 1.5” lifted plus O have 30mm wheel spacers all round. This levelled out the driving and is far more stable.

Congrats! They’re terrific cars. Thanks for watching!
Hi, I just watched this video and I like the spacers, the way they make the wheels fill the arches and stop the rubbing at the rear near the fuel filler pipe behind the plastic liner. I have the same issue with my RR 2010 supercharged on 285/45/22 grabber at3 and, so I'm wondering will this fix it for me. Also, where did you get that electric Jack? I need me one of them!
It does change the stance, but the biggest improvement was to the stability having lifted the car 4”. Im surprised nobody else has asked about the jack, it’s very useful! you are risking a tug from police. if you stand a bit of wood against the tyre, wall and it doesn't touchtone bodywork, half way down the arch, you are in trouble. the theory is, if you came next to another identical car, and your wheels touched, one of you will flip over. plus you are introducing tram lining on rutted motorway lanes. that gives you some scary feel.
Hi John. You’re right, and it’s been on my mind a bit. I going to trial some wheel arch extensions in some upcoming videos.
