Now you've got the controller sorted, you're probably after an amazing FPV drone, right? This is the one drone that I SWEAR by: ruclips.net/video/GzsJF9cxutg/видео.html
I agree with your feelings regarding the tx16s. I was stoked when I got it. It could pair with nearly all other protocols, including crossfire and expresslrs if you got modules, and really felt baller with the touch screen. After about a year, after replacing a couple switches that seemed to break too easy, after realizing that I don't ever use the touch screen, or even really look at it for that matter, I realized that although I lived the idea of the tx16s, I really felt it was more of a burden than anything. It was heavy and awkward to carry around and you had to really be careful not to bang it on things. It was a hard decision, but I decided I wanted someone smaller, and sold it, then ordered the boxer.
I started back when the eachine Wizard was the best starting quadcopter. There was no good drone sims to learn on and flying something the equivalent to a lawnmower scared the hell out of me.... I went full opposite and bought a brushed 1s and had so much more fun. Then I got the tiny hawk 2 RTF as well and just bought a Jumper T-PRO to start up 2023 with a Big controller upgrade.
Started with the EMax Tinyhawk 3 RTF kit. First upgrade was to get a 16S. I'm on my fourth TH3 drone (thanks dog). While I expect the 16S to still be going strong when I'm not, i just ordered a Betaflight 3 controller for a lighter setup/backup.
Epic man, that’s exactly how I started too, just with a Tinyhawk 2 instead haha! Good to hear the TX16S is still holding up strong, look forward to hearing how the betaflight controller goes for you
I bought self and my son Powerbox Core radio’s for planes, Mikado touch evo for Heli’s and I got a tbs tango 2 with pyro gimbals and my son a radio master boxer for drones. Hearing you talk about 1 radio master being expensive is really cute.
The Zorro, T-lite, or T-pro are all pretty good small cheap radio's if you like the shape and use hall sensors, there's also alloy gimbals available like on the larger radios, a lot of people also like the TBS tango for a gamepad shape too or there's the tx12 for a smaller brick radio. I like a smaller lighter form factor for holding a long time especially because I'm used to video game controllers but, it's also real nice for hike in camping where pack space is scarce I can fit a radio, goggles and a folding 4" quad with a few li-ion packs in about the space a tx16 takes.
zorro has a big disadvantage on the size and battery for me does not worth it... Jumper T-pro 2 after fix were made through new firmware update is amazing... best travel option for ELRS
I agree. And I like to have backups for my key stuff, so I have a Boxer on pre-order also. I currently have a tx12 as backup and it is decent, but have found that I do best with full size gimbals. Will pass along the tx12 to a nephew that is interested in the hobby. It might be worth getting the hall sensor gimbals for your lite radio, just in case an emergency backup was needed on a job.
I have also the Tx16s as my daily radio. The radio is amazing i think. And you could use a neckstrap becaus you have all the weight on your neck.( It‘s very comfortable)
Fpv is like buying a sports car. If you want a full experience you must shell out a hefty amount of money 💰. No cuts. That's why it's not for everyone...
yeah I've got the literadio 3 pro and I was surprised how first time I tried to use it, I had this learning curve about how to setup the buttons and switches and I couldn't just turn it on and fly...
The TX16 line of controller is very good. I only wish Radiomaster integrate some sort of 5.8ghz built-in fpv rx attachment so that we can watch fpv video directly from the controller screen.
That would be a very nice feature! Much like the small TBS Ethix one but built in! I guess it would be difficult with all the different types of transmission now; DJI, Walksnail, Analog, HDZero etc.
Completely fair! I really love how this controller feels for me, I also have a few friends who run the Tango 2 and swear by it as well! The only 'downfall' as such with the Tango is for someone who might like to run something other than CRSF, but if that's all you run that is epic 😊
Nice quality video overall! Agreed generally But with all respect; do you really use all the positional switches and sliders on tx16s? For most of the beginners, who does not have GPS, LED, tunes and settings assigned to switches, this radio is overkill More to that (pointed correctly), it comes with "not folding" handle and takes a lot of xtra place in (for example) 21L pack or it takes xtra money to upgrade the handle Yes, this Radio is what all the middle and pro pilot could ever require But does it really the best overall radio? imho, the Boxer is a decent contender to this radio What do you think?
Thanks for the thoughts! I agree that for an immediate beginner this may be overkill but in saying that, the more that I fly the more switches I have started using. For example I now have turtle mode for racing, return to home on my GPS quad, angle mode on another switch, the list is constantly growing more than I thought that I would need. But you make some very valid points, it does take up a lot of space unfortunately! I believe from an overall standpoint of what I have experienced, I've never been limited by it, nothing has broken, and I always have more room to grow with it which is why I think of it so highly. I haven't personally tried or even seen a boxer in the flesh so I can't say that I have an opinion on it currently. When I eventually see one in the wild however I'll have a good play around with it and let you know 😀
Be careful with your mixing, the music can quickly drown your voice. Not a major issue but it's toeing the line a little too much. Thank you for your work and explanations.
Perhaps you might be able to satisfy my curiosity! Why in Hades do people add any Muzak at all??!! Is is compulsory for posting on RUclips? I mean, if you think that your Spielberg effort might sound better with the 1812 Overture drowning out everything you are saying, couldn't you just put a note in the description and then any others who suffer from similar delusions could just add it in via headphones. And the rest of your possible audience can ignore it! 🙄😉

i rly like the ts16s but i learned fpv at a small beach and the gimbals were grindy after 4 months. i also did not like that amount of play you have in the sticks. you can EASY get past 1000 and under 0 just by pressing the stick against the sidewall. BUT if you install ag01 gimbal you rly have a special controller that make you a better pilot. you can then mash the stick all you want and you know it lands at exactly 0 and never exeeds that
@@combinacijus I'd argue that the jitter being completely gone and the cold not affecting the gimbals at all, does help a tiny bit. I had really really crappy gimbals before getting the good ones. Like, so crappy that I had to recalibrate almost every flight and still, at least one of the sticks would be off by a few degrees after landing. The feel of the nice gimbals alone makes me much much more confident that my drone actually does what I want it to do.
@@combinacijus Nope, they were hall effect. Just really crappy or faulty ones. Hey thanks! I haven't tried the Tango 2 yet however if you do go for that just keep in mind that you are limited to solely using TBS Crossfire (Not necessarily a bad thing but I would imagine micro and mini quads will be out of the picture)
@rohitjurgumusic9081 The perfect radio doesn't exist. TX16S is arguably the best currently. Without a doubt the most feature packed. That said, it's quite large and unless you have a use for all those extra features/switches, it's kinda overkill. I love the size and feel of the Tango2 but it is lacking pots/sliders/switches required for some models. Radiomaster Boxer strikes a balance between the two and would be my choice today based on form factor alone. That said, I think TBS has something cooking right now that may be worth waiting a few weeks to see. Regardless of the radio you choose, as long as you can slap a module in the back you're not locked into an ecosystem.
Great advice to FPV newbs [like myself]. Would love to get your opinion on the new RadioMaster "Boxer" model if you ever get your hands on one. The TX16S clearly appears to be the "gold standard" these days for controllers, and yes I would LOVE to have one, but as you say they do come at a price [a hefty one] . That said, I'm hearing many good things about the Boxer lately and I need to pull the trigger soon.
Have flown with the boxer a good few times now and absolutely love it! If I were to start again, I’d buy a boxer over the TX16s, but either one are absolutely awesome

too many unboxing and reviews yet we know fuck all about these products. influencers and people with affiliates are definitely onto shady things, free merchandise plus being paid for their reach online must lead to dodgy shit. maybe im over exaggerating but there is a pattern. regurgitating the same shit over and over again. be it Tech and computers / photography / videography / drones and R/C all of it man. and I know how the fuck to use a damn thing when it comes to technical in depth stuff.
I completely feel you there! This video has got no paid for anything, no company behind it, just simply my honest opinions after having used it consistently! I genuinely love this controller To be fully transparent, if someone wants to purchase this controller I do have an affiliate link for Amazon in the description. All that means is I’d get a small 3% commission from the sale at no extra cost to anyone. Helps me keep making videos and that’s it 🙂
Really impressive how much the cost of the different controller does vary from cheap to very very expensive, and the fact you spent all this money for nothing ! Btw great video bro !
Why do you assign every switch IN the radio You can assign switches to a function in Betaflight.... In the controller section... Just update to EdgeTX while you're at it. I've been in the hobby for a year.. Have you heard about our lord and savior, mister Joshua Bardwell? Talking 'bout helpful videos about the tx16s that you couldn't find lol.. but you didn't find Bardwell at all? You missed out.
For sure man, you have to assign each switch within the radio prior to going and doing it within betaflight 🙂 I definitely have run through Joshua’s videos too, I just personally found the most helpful videos for me were the ones linked in the description. Completely understand that everyone will learn more effectively off of different people and styles ✌️
@@BrodieReed usually I just create a new model and assign switches in BF. No hour long fiddeling in the controller. I only assign switches for fixed wings as they do not have a FC that works trough bf.
You can't assign a switch in bf if the Tx hasn't been configured to send a signal on a particular channel that's been assigned to a switch in the radio.
haha Easiest decision I ever made its runs 2 OS OpenTX and EdgeTX, started in FPV last year with Tx16s MK11 and SIMs no real FPV for almost a year haha =) and recently start to fly 7" without problems haha, configured lua Script on edgetx where I can get my quad last coordinates when losing it super cool functions I can also use lua script to get all the OSD functions which is not compatible by default so I can root them... first decision and best decision also the TX16s MKII does not require opening to adjust the gimbals... really easy... only down size is the size but after the Jumper T-pro 2 got the firmware updates its is perfect and will be my travel RC =)

if you had brought a tbs controller you wouldnt have any setup issues
You can customize this very well, for now I prefer to use DJI controller for all my drones, only with O3.
That’s fair enough! I honestly don’t feel as confident with the DJI controller 2 when I compare it with my TX16S, something about the larger gimbals, larger sticks, and just larger body is so much more confidence inspiring to me 🙂
too many unboxing and reviews yet we know fuck all about these products.
influencers and people with affiliates are definitely onto shady things, free merchandise plus being paid for their reach online must lead to dodgy shit.
maybe im over exaggerating but there is a pattern. regurgitating the same shit over and over again. be it Tech and computers / photography / videography / drones and R/C all of it man. and I know how the fuck to use a damn thing when it comes to technical in depth stuff.
I completely feel you there!
This video has got no paid for anything, no company behind it, just simply my honest opinions after having used it consistently!
I genuinely love this controller
To be fully transparent, if someone wants to purchase this controller I do have an affiliate link for Amazon in the description.
Yeah the price definitely does increase pretty damn quick! Thank you though ✌️
I ain't giving 200bucks for a radio
Sorry but the hype for the TX16 is over. Everyone has moved over to the Boxer.
I've seen top Ukarinian FPV kamikaze pilots use TX16s ;-)
Why do you assign every switch IN the radio
You can assign switches to a function in Betaflight....
@@dr0n3droid weird, because you can auto detect what switch is moved in de tab in BF and it just works...
@@FATSNAIL-FPV
Auto detect only works if your Tx is Tx-ing.
❤❤❤❤❤😊
haha Easiest decision I ever made its runs 2 OS OpenTX and EdgeTX, started in FPV last year with Tx16s MK11 and SIMs no real FPV for almost a year haha =) and recently start to fly 7" without problems haha, configured lua Script on edgetx where I can get my quad last coordinates when losing it super cool functions I can also use lua script to get all the OSD functions which is not compatible by default so I can root them... first decision and best decision also the TX16s MKII does not require opening to adjust the gimbals... really easy... only down size is the size but after the Jumper T-pro 2 got the firmware updates its is perfect and will be my travel RC =)
DeeJayEye.
NOT! DeeGeeEye.
She’ll be right 😎
