Out-freaking-standing Michael!
Thanks mike and thanks Reallusion for sharing such good stuff
Very informative and useful. Also well described.
fantastic presentation, easy to follow
Can you provide link to the video about customizing a basemesh in blender that you had on timelapse?
Can you make an arm wrestling motion pack.
Can I create a custom morph from an FBX file, or just OBJ? What about if I have a character already in CC4, can I use that body to create morph?
I have a question for the pros here 👀 I am currently working with character creator is it possible to morph a finished model in blender with an addon so that it looks the same as another character? thanks for any help.
can i use them in unity or unreal, for ingame character creator (as a data format, not for exporting) for using as ingame main character or npc only.
Is there a way to apply subdivision inside CC4? or only "dynamic" subdivs?
Hi @catfishercatfishered2427,
Currently, subdivision only affects viewport display and rendering; it does not add more polygons to the mesh for finer sculpting and detailing. As a workaround, enable ""Use Subdivided Mesh"" when exporting the character. However, due to differences in the CC3+ character specification, be aware that this will prevent the mesh from being transferred back to Character Creator.
For an overview, see www.reallusion.com/character-creator/subdivision-export.html.
I would love to see a tutorial on rigging Armor on a human model. For the life of me, I can't find one.
Hi @AngriestAmerican,
We have a dedicated article on rigging hard surface armor to a character, available here: magazine.reallusion.com/2023/04/10/how-to-auto-rig-cyborgs-with-character-creator-accurig-part-1/.
You can also view this AccuRIG tutorial video: courses.reallusion.com/home/character-creator/characterize/auto-rigging-accurig?v=character-creator-4-tutorial-selective-mesh-rig-and-hard-surface-attachment.
For CC3+ characters or rigged characters, please refer to ruclips.net/video/a3aqWQ26KV0/видео.htmlsi=sczmcA2G_68pDN5a&t=210 for an explanation of the ""Attach"" feature.
dam you make the grasseti hauhauuauah
I wish I could Neo I know kung fu inject all your knowledge 😂
It won't be long. Then we'll be looking back to "the good old days" of learning something on our own.
Animate like metahumans BUT does it animate metahumans
Looks like you need CC as well based on your tutorial.
The licensing restrictions on these make them effectively useless for commercial work
What’s their license that makes it difficult?

If you use theses base meshes to create a rigged character I cannot sell them in commercial marketplaces or imbed them in a video game character customization system,
The Blender Foundation gives away free base meshes that are open source so you can sell the custom Character you derive from them and make money.
It's restricted if you don't modify the Base Characters. This prevents con artists from selling free things or using them "as is" for money. It's not restricted if you use it to create an original character.
@@joshualewis897 "5.2.4 You cannot sell the 3D model created from Character Creator's Base Model as a content asset in any third-party marketplaces regardless of any file format." So even if you DO modify the base character you still can't sell it, it seems.
I wonder how does it work for digital clothes. If I make a garment for this base mesh, and I want to sell this garment as an asset on ArtStation or somewhere else, can I include the base mesh into the file that I sell ?
I think reallusion need grafis update. Like grafis blender. Or make tool grafis like blender. I think some animator agree with me. Because we spend a lot of money for this software. But still not good about grafis.
Question: Why do we need free CC character bases?
Answer" ...because people are too lazy to 'learn and create' when it's easier to just take from someone else = modern world
