      Thank you very much for such a nice comment! Hope we don't have to keep painting it if it gets dirty hehe! Been a lot of hard work - we have six week until we get to try it out on our trip so stay posted and we'll see how we get on when it's put into practice and it will be interesting to see if we need to make any adaptations! :-)

      That would be great :) Me and my girlfriend are also dancers, and compeet in a Swedish style swingdance called "Bugg". We are also travelling long distances to workshops and competitions in Sweden in our custom made Sprinter van. I am currently re-building it, and got lots of ideas from your van :) Same "problem" you do with clothes ;) I envy those extra 55 cm length you guys have on your van. Our van is "only" 591 cm. Have a great day, look forward to following your tour :)

    This is my favourite camper, neat and clean, everything's organised so well, simply beautiful. Start a series of trips, I'd love to see more.
    I just wanted to know it for so long that why can't we put water tanks on the roof of the van? I NEVER saw anyone doing that and was curious to know abt it.

    • @subspaceanomaly
      @subspaceanomaly 4 года назад

      it would make the van quite unstable, as the water weighs a lot and would swish from side to side in the tank increasing its effect on destabilising the van. that;s not to say someone hasn't tried it.
      I did think a large thin and flat tank on the roof for heating the water with the sun might be an ok idea--

    Looks amazing! I love the white! What is the brand of fridge you have there I've never seen it before? Do you have the detailed specifications for it?

    • @CamperVanTango
      @CamperVanTango  7 лет назад

      Hi, The cool box type fridge is a 3way Dometic RC1600 Carbon Gas Portable Cooler, UK spec, it works off gas, 240v and 12v. we decided to co for this because we didn't want to cut vents/flue holes in the side of the van we plan to use it mostly with 12v and 140v but we can also run it off a small gas canister outside the van as a backup as we can easily unplug it and lift it out. The cost was also 3 times cheaper than an equivalent 3way fridge. Hope this helps and thank you for your lovely comments :) PS a lot of people will think we were crazy to go with white but we don't have a dog or children and used Kitchen Cupboard paint so it wipes clean, put several coats on so we hope it lasts and can always re-paint it, a lot of campervans use dark wood but we wanted to keep it light and bright.

    How much did the equipment and materials cost to build this?

  • @KeepTheBalance

    I'm back with another question :) for the bed where you recess it into the sides, did you put any insulation into that area or left it clean to get maximum depth? I am 180/181cm and really want to put my bed in this way round to save on space but I know it's tight. If you left the insulation out do you feel cold effects there at all? Thanks

    • @CamperVanTango
      @CamperVanTango  5 лет назад

      Hi, yes i did insulate them but the insulation was stuck directly to the van wall if you watch my van build guide video it shows pictures of what i did link here ruclips.net/video/QAqdb6ePxG0/видео.html go watch them all 😁

    Lovely van! Did you Stixall-a-flex the battens for the bed or screw those in? Thanks.

    • @andyrobinson326
      @andyrobinson326 7 лет назад +2

      Hi the bed frames were made to be able to be removed by lifting them out, so no they are just placed in and rest on the 2 brackets at each end. ☺️

      @CamperVanTango  7 лет назад +1

      Thank you so much! Other than a test run we haven't been anywhere yet but are planning a long trip. For more information about how we did it, why and where we are going we've set up a blog on Facebook 'CampervanTango' if you'd like to check it out. Good luck with your van, if you're thinking of converting check out the SBMCC forum on the internet - this has all sorts of advice on it.

    nice. but I have never come across a van with this layout wide enough to sleep stretched out.

    • @CamperVanTango
      @CamperVanTango  7 лет назад

      Malcolm Smith Hi Andy is 5foot 10, the bed is built into the reveals in the side of this van (178cm tall) and it's fine for him there's afew inches to spare - depends how tall you are I guess lol!

    • @CamperVanTango
      @CamperVanTango  7 лет назад

      Andy is 5ft 10ins (around 178 cm) it's fine for him with a few inches square - depends how tall you are, this is a Citroen Relay which is one of the widest ones we could find lol!

      CamperVanTango hi,thanks for your reply. Yes,I noticed the bed had been "built-in". Good idea and well executed. Unfortunately I'm one of those buggers that move around in their sleep and would need just a little more length to really sleep comfortably. But that's my problem. Great design and build, I wish you many happy years in it.
