EVERY Airlines BEGS For The New Embraer E2 NOW! Here's Why

  • For many decades, the commercial aviation sector has been dominated by Boeing and more recently Airbus. But it looks like a slightly lesser known aeronautics company from Brazil could be coming to take their throne. Gliding into the big player conversations is Embraer with their E2 series of jetliners which Airlines could be trooping for in the near future.
But what is so special about the E2 jetliner series?

Boeing didn’t fail with its attempt- it pulled out of the deal when Embraer’s valuation plummeted because it didn’t want to pay the originally agreed to price, which was much higher. In any case, I’m glad Embraer survived, too.

@kevinpoole1543 Boeing failed because it was in debt and required government assistance. It would have been ok if the American government didn't demand Boeing to stop spending money on non essential areas. Thus, Boeing couldn't buy Embraer because it didn't have the money, the American government did! As such, Boeing would have to opt out of the contract, but that would have a fee. Uninterested in paying the fee, Boeing chose create false issues and sabotage the contract, blaming Embraer for not following it. The result is that they didn't buy Embraer, Embraer grew more than expected and they are both fighting each other in court.

Embraer started as a state-owned company, with large investments. When it was privatized, it was capable of generating profits on its own. And it went further: it invested heavily in technology and occupied a large share of the regional jet market. On the other hand, it also invested heavly in young professionals formed at ITA, a famous college on Engeneering, near the Embraer´s main factory. It is one of our greatest pride as a country today.

Belgium should put a tax on train delays. Europe should put some objectives on the duration of journeys from and to various major cities. Then we can imagine the train being a true alternative to planes (in France the problem is that most of the routes are using Paris as hub therefore either not giving enough slots for direct journeys or extending the duration of journeys.
Airbus looks to be R&D on alternative fuels (hydrogen), they were also looking into buying enough stakes of Embraer (allegedly for it's defense branch). That said Boeing ditch the effort understandably since it would create a monopoly on the segment (since Mitsubishi / MITAC discontinued their investment).

I don't think range is a selling point in this market segment. The longest commercial route made today with an A220 is still possible for the 195E2. With more than 5 hours the route is at a point where regional airplanes are starting to become less financially viable than bigger airplanes. I still don't see today any airline really using all the range the A220 is capable of giving

The A220 only has 490 nautical miles more than the E2 so I don't think it needs to be increased, as my friend said, airlines don't fly more than that on regional flights.

Did any notice the tail-strike at around 8 minutes by the aircraft landing ?, Very sloppy landing and should cause a maintenance engineer's to carry out a tail strike inspection in accordance with the operators manual. tail strikes can cause serous damage to the aircraft and wrinkling of the fuselage if bad enough, on this occasion you can see the tail strike cartridge being " burnt off " I am amazed they included this bit of work in the video,

This company would not exist without the money from the taxes paid by the Brazilians.
Every time somebody says that the government has to be out of the manufacturing, I show Embraer to them.
The government has to be part of the investment in high tech to boost the development of a country.

What disqualifies the E190-E2 in the USA is not it's technical merits, it's the rules that states that regional airlines can't operate planes with more than like 78 or so seats. The E190-E2 is simply too big for the regionals to operate unless this rule changes. So currently the E190-E2 is too big for the regionals and too small for the mainline airlines. That is its problem. So the main question, if the rules change, how does the E190-E2 compare to the A220 (earlier known as Bomardier C-Series)?
