They need to be compensated! Years of his life locked up. This is a shameful situation for the courts.

So now after 23 years being locked up he's free finally after he didn't do the murder how is he suppose to rebuild his life? That's so unfair to him & his family.

It's a shame that Hawaii Innocence Project is getting all the credit when it was actually Judge Michael Heavey from Judges for Justice who is actually the one that shed light to Dana's case. Without his findings and information Hawaii Innocence Project would not be here and Ian would not have been able to walk free. Judge Heavey worked hard on his presentation for public to see years ago. He is the one that brought up that the 3 were innocent , sharing dna and bite mark did not match. The Hawaii Innocence Project caused much grief to Judge Heavey and should be ashamed of themselves.

It was kinda hard - when all the defendants in this case testified against each other.

His wrongful conviction must be looked at very carefully. He spent half of his life in prison for a crime that he didn't commit. Not to mention that there was DNA recovered and it was either one of the convicted peoples DNA but yet they were convicted and the one that after 23 years was provin that it was his DNA committed suicide. Why didn't they get the DNA from the actual criminal? This has cover up written all over it! The hammer should come down on those that convicted these innocent guys and covered up the DNA warrant for the actual criminal. Some people in the DA's department must face up to their involvement in this case. There I'd actually no justice in this case at all. The guilty person is known but he committed suicide the day after he gave up his DNA sample to the courts. This was a case that showed exactly how much corruption is in the legal system in Hawaii. Sure they will get a financial settlement, but no amount of money will bring back 23 years of their life. Just think they are in their 50's now. Do you think they will want to have children! Let alone get married! The m9st important part of their lives was taken from them.

He could be guilty as charge Frank Pauline confessed his buddy at the time and his younger brother confessed that he had something to do with this and his cell mate confessed that he said he been apart of this crime.

What an injustice! However.... just can't understand how his bro could take a plea deal if he was innocent, and unbelievable how stoic and calmly they accepted the verdict and sentencing at the time! I would have been screaming from the rooftops if it was me.

They weren’t innocent - they testified against each other during the trials - even their friends testified against them - then the inmates they were with in jail said they admitted doing it while in jail.

@@QuantumOfSolace1 I don’t believe your jail house chitchat among the girls ! DNA proved they were innocent to rape and murder! That the great thing of DNA it is unique to only 1 person each of us have our own no other every will or have ! This is science so useful to human kind

@@Titahood4life Each defendant testified in court - especially Frank Pauline - that they witnessed each other taking part in the incident - go figure. Then two other friends of theirs placed them at the crime scene.
