  • As authorities prepare to extradite Hawaii Loa murder suspect back to the islands, more is coming to light about who he is and how he may have lured in his alleged victim.
In court documents, police say 23-year-old Juan Tejedor Baron confessed to killing 73-year-old Hawaii Loa homeowner Gary Ruby and then encasing his body in a bathtub filled with concrete.
The murder has shocked the affluent community where Ruby lived and thrown a family into mourning.
As the criminal investigation continues, HNN spoke to those who knew both the victim and the suspect to piece together a timeline of the murder and Baron’s alleged failed attempt to flee to Mexico.
