I thought look there Eddie and Brian, thats pretty cool. Then Brian starts pulling out guitar gods like a magician pulls rabbits out of a hat! What a treat to see.
When Brian Setzer summons the Avengers and STARTS with Eddie Van Halen...!!!! One simply does not have all of these guitar gods onstage, at the same.. oh. I stand corrected. This is just incredible to see!
how can brian setzer be so underrated? being able to bring together all those talents on the same stage speaks for itself. undoubtedly one of the greatest.
Brian Setzer has been acclaimed by peers and fans for decades, featured in countless music magazines, has got signature guitars and pickups. How can he be underrated?
is this HEAVEN ??? it has to be, this is sooooo epic... missing Chuck berry, Steve Ray Vaughn ? this was the best momento in Rock and Roll history its unbelieveble
Not sure about underrated, but When I saw Setzer years ago, I was blown away. very serious talent, can hold his own with anyone on the stage. Great voice as well.
Brooklyn, August 18, 1988. Celebrating a then 73 year old Les Paul's career. Shocking what Les can pull off with a near-completely clean tone. Zero help from distortion or overdrive! The list i can confirm: The Stray Cats - and thus obviously Brian Setzer Eddie Van Halen David Gilmour B.B. King Stanley Jordan (Never heard of him till right now, but DANG) Waylon Jennings Steve Miller Les Paul
Thanks so much for confirming that Les Paul pulled off that's solo without any help from overdrive or Distortion for a minute there I thought he was using a rat distortion pedal but you my man saved the day. WIthout your comment I would have never known. Atta boy. Simp
Why do people think distortion makes guitar playing easier? If anything, if you put in poop, the distortion will turn it into a shitstorm, it won't conceal the poop. Otherwise, thanks for putting this night in context.
Waylon was top shelf in his own right. To see him there, makes me think of Buddy. Buddy Holley. Waylon played bass for Buddy on his last tour before his tragic death. For those of you who don't know Buddy Holly, he was a huge influence on Rock & Roll history. Gospel, Country, Blues and Jazz all influenced the early Rock & Roll styles of the 1950s which influenced what followed in the 1960s which spawned the 70s and then the 80s and beyond. Les Paul holding his own with the young bucks really well. That's legendary
@@gabbleratchet1890 nothing annoys me more than (usually) non guitar players spouting top 10 bollox ... its one of the most stupid things i've heard said , over probably , 55 of my 65 yr age 🤣
If you read the comments on all music related videos on youtube, you'll be shocked to learn every musician that has ever existed is underrated. The rating system is obviously flawed.
When Eddie plays, you can bet its gonna be a sweet story telling solo with beautiful out of this world screams and dive bombs, complimenting the story to perfection in perfect timing.. A gift indeed..EVH..the goat!!
Love how Brian Setzer calls Waylon up out of respect & acknowledgment from the guitar legend platform & Waylon showed his respects going on stage when called up there, but not really jumping in cause it's not his style. Waylon is pure country, respectfully. Great combo...over half of them are gone. :'(
This should be put in a time capsule and opened up in 1 thousand years . I think they will be amazed that this sound can only be duplicated by computer , and not by man in there time.
I remember taping this program back in 89, it was a great show. I had just gone to see Pink Floyd on their Momentary Lapse of Reason tour a few months earlier and I was a complete David Gilmore fan. Everyone on that stage was a great.
Incredible Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country Western..a stage full of guitar legends and gods! Why I love all genres of music.. music is universal, unison and harmony.. this video is visual and audio proof.. different genres of music combining to create magic in the air! Music played from the heart touches hearts 🎼🎶🎶🎶🙏🏽
Wonderful, and think among them there's a Man Who invented One of the Most iconic Guitars of rock History and multitrack recording that made possibile that industry of music that gave us the possibility to listen to tons of music by recordings at Better quality their works
Has to be one of the most legendary concerts/ jam in rock n roll history
found this just now, excellent

Yea what a class act
how can brian setzer be so underrated? being able to bring together all those talents on the same stage speaks for itself. undoubtedly one of the greatest.
He should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame already.
Nope! Setzer and Mayer, the last of the greats.
He's not underrated my dog. Not in guitarists' and luthier circles.
Brian Setzer has been acclaimed by peers and fans for decades, featured in countless music magazines, has got signature guitars and pickups. How can he be underrated?
There’s that “underrated” word again. 😂
Brian Setzer really knows how to rock the house, and Eddie Van Halen complete with a lit cigarette in the headstock. Priceless.
this is formerly known as the "SOUNDMAN'S NIGHTMARE"
I feel like I just entered an alternate universe! I had no idea this existed, or even could imagine it ever actually happening!🎉
is this HEAVEN ??? it has to be, this is sooooo epic... missing Chuck berry, Steve Ray Vaughn ? this was the best momento in Rock and Roll history its unbelieveble
It ain't Iowa that's for sure. 😂😅
Not sure about underrated, but When I saw Setzer years ago, I was blown away. very serious talent, can hold his own with anyone on the stage. Great voice as well.
I always compared Brian Seltzer to Jimmy Page but "without the sloppy"
I have been following Setzer for years and heve seen him live several times. He is a gifted and very underated guitarist. This video was terrific.

Stanley Jordan kicks ass, listen to impressions, he’s literally the Eddie Van Halen of jazz
Thanks. At first, I thought Stanley Jordan might have been Robert Cray.
Listen to Return to Forever

Wow. He got some of the most talented musicians ever on stage with him in their respective genres.
Eddie looked like a God here
The more names he said the farther my jaw dropped. Just amazing.
Jaw drop×3
I love that it was so obviously just thrown together. This was not rehearsed.
Wow.. this is incredible 👏
legends everywhere on stage including the stray cats 🐈
As a EVH fan, his opening solo was epic
👑 🎸
WOW WOW WOW and Waylon and Steve millertoo
GREAT but far too little of it.
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE GOAT FEST 😱🫢🫶🫶🫶
As a metal head teenager this went completely unnoticed. Now in retrospect I say DAMN! That's awesome!
Same here
Same!
Setzer is incredible
Absolute insanity. So much guitar history on one stage.
Jeez Louise, this video should have a billion views by now...
I saw this video on YT over 10years ago. Must have been reposted,

What if Mr Les Paul came out playing a Frankenstrat! 😂😱
Greatest thing I watched all day. Loved Stray Cats. Love all of these guitar greats. Thanks Brian Setzer for bringing all these talents together.
the fact that david and eddie and a bunch of awesome artists are kicking ass on that
stage makes me happy
Brian is easily one of the top ten guitarists of all time. SERIOUSLY underrated!
There is no top 10 , don't be so silly
FFS, he is not underrated. He’s been a respected player since he emerged on the scene over 40 years ago. Enough with the fucking “underrated” shit.

🙌🕊️🙌
Can't get any better than that!!!!
Top Class Reunion
スタンリージョーダンさんもいる?!この時代の独自の世界を作りスタンダードにした方々が一堂に会する映像、こんなもの見れて幸せです。
There's no doubt in my mind that whatever room he might happen to walk into, Brian Setzer is always the coolest dude there!!
That's some star power! The Stray Cats were on top of the world in the early eighties.
What a bunch of guitar gods onstage at one time
To be in the front row to witness this must have been nothing less then AMAZING 🎼❤
To all the shredders around the world, it's not about the speed, it's about the feel, emotions.
Уходят кумиры, а с ними эпоха настоящей музыки...
How did I not see this before? Crazy
OMG....to see and hear all these GOAT Legends onstage at the same time and jamming, many who are no longer with us... 😪❤❤❤❤
This is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen!
Holy Moly. A truly legendary moment.
Ffs how much talent can you fit on one podium! 🫣
This is insane!
I love the the way Eddie open the song with his style's of solo
WOW!!! All this talent on one stage! Amazing!

When I saw Brian Setzer and Eddie Vanhalen’s names together I had to watch! Outstanding bunch! Supercool!
juste magnifique
WOW THIS IS WHAT HEAVEN LOOKS LIKE
Brian Setzer is epic!
It's great to have all of those legends in one place, but as always it's chaos.
Stanley Jordan has blown my mind for 30 years+, never hear his name get brought up. Effortless technique.
This is mayhem. A guitar blow out. The recording is clean and musicianship top notch. Have my father turning.
ESAS SON NAVIDADES, CARAJO!!!🎉😂🎉😂😂😂🎁🎀🎄🎄🎄🎀🎁
NICOTEAMOOO!!!.
AGUANTELCICLON!!!.
VIVAPERÓN!!!🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷✨😘🤗😘🤗✨🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷✨🥃😎✨😘✨
A stage full of guitar gods.. wow!
BB King could say more with four or five notes than anyone else. Wow.
I was thinking the same crazy isn't
What a treat

Brian is the greatest of them all....
How did I not ever know this happened? The sea parts for B.B. King and Les Paul follows him through the trough. Holy moly.
"I wanna mix 8 lead guitar players at once" said no sound guy ever.
WoW 😮
"Miles Davis, Richard Wagner...get your butts up here!"
line up from heaven...already 2024 and it is still amazing 😢

Здорово 👍 сильнейшие гитаристы всех стилей собрались
That was beautiful!
So cool to see BB and Les, and to hear their respective iconic style!
EVH and Jordan were killer and quick too!
I smoked a bowl of Bruce Banner and watched this several times. Stage not big enough for all that talent. Love there contributions
That was awesome!!! EV grabbing les Paul’s hand at the very end!
That's what I want playing live 24/7! It doesn't get better than that 🤘😎🤘
Wow!!!!!!!! Look at all those talents!!!!
Brian is playing master of ceremonies here, they all know he can play
He is a collaborator for sure, he has showmanship
Wow…this is some serious Guitar Hero shit!! Never saw this jam till now!!

Always liked Brian Setzer a cool guy with style and talent . Stray Cats IS rockn'roll !
Never see that again with all the greats!!!
Steve Miller grew up with Les Paul around. I think he was a relative or friend of his Dad's, but he picked up a lot from Les growing up.
breathtaking beauty!!!
deadly wonderful!!!
Eddies solo is awesome

Wow - never seen this before - wow!!!
Tears of joy.
Omg this is absolutely amazing!!!!!!
It takes a real artist to share the stage with these guys and not be insecure about it.
