I just decided to look at the nutrition info. for the canned cranberries and was shocked to see so much sugar in them, hoping all this sugar was natural and not added!! It was added!! On top if that, it had high fructose corn syrup plus corn syrup!! I told my son that I will find a recipe for fresh cranberries the next time!! So glad I saw yours! It looks very simple. I'll be using your recipe when I get the fresh cranberries. Thank you for sharing!

you don't need to add sugar if you don't want to as I don't add sugar just a little water with the berries and cook it on low heat when the are wrinkly use a masher to make it quicker to sqeeze the berries and leave a little on low heat then the sauce is ready-the berries are low calories and without sugar added the sauce will be healthy.

you can use a fine mesh strainer to run the sauce thru to remove seeds and skins but they in my opinion should be left in for proper consistency and texture.....and use a lil splash of fresh o.j and a pinch of cinnamon for depth of flavor. tJw

    • @laurag4500

scorpionkings Some of my guests love smooth cranberry sauce. You just cook that batch longer (to soften the skins) and then you let cool a little and add it to the blender. Quick easy delicious..............also try adding some strawberries, extremely delicious. I make different versions of the cranberry sauce and it is a taste and texture preference but I never use canned.
