To me, saturated fat is the enemy so I usually focus more on ingredients than calories but I did my best count using all the ingredients in my recipe. An average fried glazed doughnut seems to be around 250-300 calories with 50% of them from fat, mostly saturated. Mine is about 150 calories with 22% from fat and almost NO saturated fat.
I completely agree, no advertisements and no hidden message or agenda! Great recipes too, the cinnamon buns (I add raisins) are delicious, my husband loved them and it’s a small recipe perfect for the two of us!
My polish mother in law passed away at age 90 in September. She loved watching your videos with me. She would want you to know that she was proud of you ❤
I have enjoyed your cooking tutorials for years, your skill and wit really take the anxiety out of trying new recipes! I’m in my 60’s but I haves shared your site with countless young nervous cooks!
I was looking for doughnut recipes , AND BAM , I'm looking at JENNY JONES . My favorite of all time. Wow, Ms. Jenny , the FLAME of ETERNAL BEAUTY has not ,FLICKERED or FADED, and NEVER WILL. This is my new favorite channel .Thanks for the recipe
Hi just made these donuts with my grandchildren for a Christmas memory. We used red n green frosting! They were easy to make and tasted great! Thank you for sharing this recipe
My Grandmother made the best nutmeg donuts: crispy on the outside, tender & delicious on the inside. Your donuts will be nostalgia for me when I make your recipe. Thanks for sharing.
Jenny it's youuuuuuu!!!!!! You have no idea how happy finding you on YT doing your thing again has made me tonight. There are no words. Keep up the good work! You look great!
i was thinking the same thing, I'm in my early 30s, but i recognized her face and smile, just couldn't put my finger on it. then i checked out her website, and her About Me page, and boom! I was like, YASSSS! Jenny Jones! I remember her in early-mid 90s talk show host
Michael she looks the same. I live in NYC and people are still talking about Jenny Jones this and Jenny Jones that. She's a legend over here. God Bless u Jenny Jones!!
Hi Jenny, hope you and the family are all well and looking forward to Christmas! Love all your recipes lass, your such a great cook and baker and always giving us great tips and healthier options too! You have such a lovely and fun personality and have a very warm and soothing way about you! I never saw you when you were a presenter but I'm sure you rocked it because your so very professional in all your videos! All the best and thanks so much for every delightful and delicious recipe! Take care
With a soft dough like that I can't think of anything else that would work to keep the hole in the middle. There are other recipes for baked doughnuts with a firm dough that is rolled and cut with a special doughnut cutter then baked flat on a baking sheet. You might want to try that.
I love this video because you don’t have any distracting music in the background while you’re talking! I can totally focus on what you’re saying. If I want music I’ll play my iTunes or go to a nightclub! Thank you for no distracting background. Also the donuts are yummy! 😃
You really do. Buttermilk makes baked items light and tender. (that's why buttermilk pancakes are so good!) They say if you don't have buttermilk you can add 1 Tbsp. of lemon juice to milk and let it stand for 5 minutes and I've tried it but it's not the same at all. So buttermilk is definitely needed, but you don't have to drink it! I get that!
I love that this is a basically small cake recipe (like one of mine that's doubled.) I found helpful when making donuts for three-four. Love your videos! Blessings!
Love your different timers. Great videos. Very professional and fun. Easy food and good instructions. I like that you wear a Mic. Hardly any other RUclips cooks do that and it's harder to hear. So thanks. Just like being back on TV again!
I appreciate your comment but respectfully disagree. I have tried this several times and it has never worked for me. I find this milk/acid combination to be nothing like real buttermilk and it does not produce the same result that you get with real buttermilk, whether in pancakes or in baking. For these light and fluffy doughnuts, I recommend using only real buttermilk.
Just a comment about the pan... you can find it cheap at Micheal's with their famous 40% coupon for about 7 dollars and some change. Now as far as the video, Thanks Jenny. Your videos are amazing and fun to watch, thanks for taking your time to share your ideas with everyone. I am now following your channel and are looking forward to cooking a lot of your recipes! :) cheers!
suggestion for ya Jenny, saw another video where they put the batter in a ziplock baggie and cut the corner off. the batter went into the pan easily and no mess. Love your video's.
Delighted to find you. Love your fun, colourful and easy style. Thank you and keep those recipes coming! Look forward to seeing more love from the UK :)
Jenny I enjoy your videos and your sense of humor , you make it look so easy. I also like the unique timers you have . Can't wait to try the recipes. Thanks
Thank you Jenny Jones! I remember your show, I just happened to find you this morning looking for recipes. You look beautiful! You're the best! Thank you so much ! I'll be baking up a storm with you. I subscribed! 😉💖
I have been watching your cooking show for a while. Then I realized Jenny Jones !!!! Great show going make some donuts and cinnamon rolls for my family!!!😍 Thanks so much!
Hi Jenny I kept watching over and over saying I know this woman from somewhere now that I have read the comments I'm so glad to see you I hope you're doing great
Love your videos this donut recipe is so easy, and ten minutes to bake my 9 year old son Sammy and I made this today for dessert. Thank you again for all your videos , kids and I love your easy recipes.
Ain’t nothing like real buttermilk! My maternal grandmother used to make it in wooden churn on front porch in a section of town known as The Bottom, (river front).
This recipe has been foolproof for me and always has a light, airy, melt-in-your-mouth texture. I'm wondering if there is one little thing you may have done differently or an ingredient that you substituted. They definitely should not be bread-like. Are you using the same exact pan? Could your baking powder or soda be expired? Did you use all-purpose flour? If you let me know anything different I might be able to pinpoint the problem. I'll try to help you to attain the light donuts you seek.
Where have you been?? LOL...I love how ypur recipes are simple and healthy-ish!! I use to be intimidated because my mom is such a fabulous cook, but she also uses lard! Your recipes have all the flavor without the artery clogging fat...Thank you!
I have made donuts from caned biscuits and did chocolate icing u melt peanut butter and chocolate icing in the micowave for 20 seconds depends on your mico and pour on your donuts yum

i love your recipes, but gotta invite some people over begore making these.
Nutmeg isn't essential but it does add a nice taste to the doughnuts. But you can omit it if you like and they will still be great.
These are the cooking channels you can trust!! No agenda other than teaching us how to eat happy and healthy and to share knowledge💙
