Consort Radahn is artificially difficult by having an undodgeable attack and hard to see headache giving attacks. Phase two is actually awful.

Yo Afro apparently the game takes place after Journey to The West so reviewers recommend that you get some basic info on the story in order to appreciate the game more.

A game like wukong vs a fromsoft game in terms of difficulty is comparing apples to oranges...

I mean, Shadow of the Erdtree is much easier with summons, so that's likely where Mitchell's statement about Wukong being harder comes from.

The God of War story is in some ways a continuation of European mythology, and my personal knowledge of European mythology is limited to very loosely adapted works like Marvel. This superficial familiarity doesn't help me much, however, as the Santa Monica development team's reading here is full of references to mythological characters and events, but doesn't do a great job of giving you a sense of who Kratos is, or what he encounters on his journey through the title. I had to go online and look up who Atreus was, his historical affiliation with Kratos, and what the significance of certain encounters was, otherwise I would sometimes be completely confused

Am noticing a lot of Soulsborne are being based off folktales and literature and if done right it could start something new and exciting like imagine Sleepy Hollow or One Thousand and One Nights.
The original story is too vast. "Journey to the West" is one of the four great classical novels of Chinese history. Its extensive content and unique background construction are enough to form a complete universe system. It's unlikely to fit into a 15-20 hour game. The studio can only do their best to modify and integrate their own story

Bro there is legit a game breaking build for every major stat in Elden ring. Broken mage build, bleed, rot, Incant, I mean you name it, there’s a game breaking build for it. It’s why Elden ring is top 3 easiest from soft game, dlc included. To say wu Kong is harder then Elden ring would not be hard for a game to do. We just have to wait and see if it really has any difficulty to it or not.

Probably not easy. But to compare it to elden ring difficulty is crazy. The Probably plays like god of war. Hard but to hard where ur raging. Elden ring is a souls game. N we all know how hard those games are
People who glaze a game before its actually in their hand is crazy.
I learned my lesson after FF14 1.0. Wait for the game to drop and you have placed at least 8hrs into it before you start glazing.
The gaming industry doesn't exactly have a stellar record for dropping clean major bug free games in the past couple years.
Elden Ring's DLC was only hard if you didn't pay attention to the scadu upgrades. The hardest bosses were really just Gaius's fat hitboxes and Radahn ridiculous combos/range. Seeing how many people struggled from just the 1st Knight NPC with the crossbow shows people just swing for combos. 1-2 hits are the most you get for your openings. Against NPCs, you fight them like PVP and go for high poise attacks against heavy armor. For the Dancer NPC, you can just beat her to death. no poise = easy staggers. Radahn is weak against Rot and Bleed builds.

He found it harder than SOTE because he used a broken build and mimic tear. Elden ring and the dlc are only hard if you use a normal build and no summons like you did afro. You can very easily make even the hardest boss a joke with little effort. So no, wukongs DESIGN of the bosses are probably easier than Elden ring, but you probably don’t have access to items and builds that literally BREAK the game like in Elden ring.

If the PS5 version was safe we'd have reviews out for that right now as well. I'm crossing my fingers that the PS5 version is good holding the code isn't a good look

Numbers are mildly helpful but should never be the be all and end all. Any review should include reasons. Ignore the number. Re the pc issue, as you know, no one got a PS5 version so that’s still an unknown quantity as of writing

The novel Journey To The West is a very thick book. And given story of the game is sequel of the novel I don't know how the game is supposed to reproduce the novel stories. Notice the journey is only the second half of the book, which consists of 81 hurdles/bosses.
I don't think you need background knowledge to enjoy the game. Just that reading the novel gives you tons more, which I don't believe can be squeezed into couple of days.

I think it makes sense that the story is allegedly lacking. I don't know how many people have read the original story, but beyond the prologue and initial chapters getting the band together, most of the chapters are very monster of the week.

Like when that Sonic game came out a year or so ago, he admitted he never played the Sonic games but complained about the mechanics and gameplay that is what Sonic is all about. When he started doing it with other games that's when I had to take his input with a grain of salt.

They aren't as bad as people make them out to be. Maybe 5-10 years they were, but their newer wave of journalists are actually solid and in tune with what gamers know and feel.

It's a struggle and Radahn is next to impossible for me.
Afro is so wrong on this. DLC bosses are very fast and have insane gap closers that mage build is in no way easy. I played theough the DLC 3 times and strength is by far the easiest in the DLC.

not all mage build is the same. the same as not all meele build is the same. yes generalising them is wrong but him saying “mage build is easy” statement is not wrong

If you're talking about posture breaking then that's also difficult to pull off because Radahn gives you enough time to smack him like once with an UGS before he's already attacking again or jumping away for meteors, and you can forget jumping R2's if you're using colossal weapons because you'll just lag too much and get hit. The colossal weapon you use needs to have like S tier poise damage in order to stagger him consistently.
Best build to use against him is arcane for those OP bleeds, or the dragon communion lightning that can one shot even Messmer.

Mage builds are easier than melee builds because you don’t have to time attacks as precisely. But they’re still challenging in elden ring dlc.

Bro used Rakshasa's armor and then at the end of the video was like "yeah i didnt know the armor made me take more damage" and i was like huh, well that kind of lack of attention to the most basic details explains a lot about the struggles in his playthrough

Ngl, I find it funny that these days people view 8/10 as if its "Below standard" For quality video games these days. Like 8/10 is still a GREAT score, I always thought scorewise, 6=Decent, 7=Good, 8=Great, 9=Amazing & 10=Masterpiece. Crazy seeing people act like 8/10 is a mid score lmao
Yeah, i simply think that more people that anyone might have thought don't know basic elementary statistic (not complex stuff), they trow around the term "avarage" without even having a decent understanding of the word.
We're in a time now where anything bad or anything that someone doesn't like about a game gets a demerit and turns into a bad game. For some weird fucking reason. Like you said, idk how 8/10 is below standard. I think people are being WAAYYY too critical with new games coming out.
There are a lot of great games out there. Most people only have time to play a handful of new games per year. And every year has a 10/10 game, or two. You're buying those. Maybe a 9/10 gets released. You're getting that.
Then there's the 8/10 category... you have maybe one or two more games in the year You're going to play (if you haven't already maxed out at 2 big ones, like BG3 from last year plus Erdtree this year)
That 8/10 isn't going to cut it when there are so many other games you could buy.
Also, it's like picking a new food place for lunch. You're probably going to Google maps or yelp some places and look at reviews. Are you going to the 3.8 star place, or the 4.5 star place a few blocks over?

Enslaved is a pretty good 7/10 game. They couldn't really make a sequel out of it, but its combat could've done with another title to improve on some of its "eh" bits.
It's a pretty rough play these days. When enslaved came out I loved it.
Random topic. I noticed that a bunch of people had forgotten what each number meant in the review. 1-4 mean bad, 5 mean meh. 6 mean okay. 7 means good. 8 means great. 9-10 mean masterpiece. But people see 8 as okay. Below 8, it means trash. It pisses me off. Lol
