My Fuji double weave is an affordable gi for class but even getting a size lower than suggested I feel like its still a bit big. Working on getting to my ideal comp weight and will invest in a nicer comp gi.
It’s such a trial and error process. I feel your pain. And it all depends on what model you get (thickness etc,) it will change how you choose your size. I gotta say, the red labels do make it easy to get your size right. It’s a baggy look, but it’ll pass
My friends have the basic fuji double weave gi. It's durable and they like it. Sometimes they dry the pants if it's too long. Just be careful when doing that as it will shrink dramatically because of the cotton material.
I’ve had Fuji (single and double), ippon gear, kusakura and adidas. The later 3 were all red labels. I never had a mizuno but it’s on my bucket list to get a Japan made one. If anyone has any feedback, please reach out. Right now, I’m about 240 lbs at 6’. I was told mizuno is great for “well fed” players. I think it might be a good choice at this point. I don’t need it, but I love all things Japan made so yeah, I’d like it in my collection. Great video! 🤙
Mizuno is a great choice. You won’t regret it! Ive never had a mizuno Japan made one. But my friend who purchased one said it's baggy on the pants size and jacket skirt. Either way, I agree with you that Japan made gis is a great addition in your collection.
@@lakeavargas626 i appreciate the reply brother. Actually, after a lot of very unnecessary research, I’ve decided to get a kusakura. I had one when I was 81 kg and now I’m like 105kg so very tight. The quality really does stand the test of time. The more I compare my kusakura to other brands, I’m convinced it’s truly the best. Great videos once again bro 🤙
In my experience, Ippongear and Adidas today have a reliable gi with people with long arms. Sometimes Matsuru. But again, go by the size chart as sometimes it updates. Don't wash your gi in hot water and throw it in the dryer because it'll shrink
I just stared judo i just brought the mizuno comp Pakistan the pants are huge but ill strink them :) when i loose 13 kilos to compete i will grab a ippon gear gi.... the kuskara japan is calling me as well 😂 well see...

Japan made is a different quality. But I guess when you have one from kusakura it can’t get any better
@@Richard-l7x starting to come to that conclusion. They are superb
mizuno also does custom sizes
Thanks for mentioning that. Have you tried to customize a mizuno gi?
@@lakeavargas626not yet I will soon to send in a custom size form. Should be good since it’s the one made in Japan. How’s the ankle btw
I’m taller with long arms which brand should I get?
