Shocker. I painted an accent wall in my bedroom and continued the accent color onto the ceiling. I love it. I then continued the color on the ceiling and back wall of the master closet.
Accent walls can completely change the feel of the room, some people make 2 accent walls opposite of each other, creating a tunnel effect, some only paint half the top of one wall to give it a floaty feel, idk pick the same color and depending on what wall you put it on will change the room quite a bit
What if you have 2 walls that don't meet at 90 degrees? Like there is small structural block wall that connects the 2 walls in the corner? Do you paint the accent where the block wall starts or ends?
Great info as usual.. And always do what makes you happy. Don't just follow a trend.. Don't be afraid to do you and love what you do! Love the new hair 🤗
Totally depends. Sometimes people choose the wall with the television or a feature, like a fireplace. Sometimes it's the shape of the wall that you might want to highlight. The way the light hits could be a factor in deciding too. Totally depends on the space and your preference.
So enjoyed rhe topic, would love to do an accent wall in the library, would that be a good ide or would it be to busy?? As a side note: it takes a very confident man to change up his hair style especially when such a public figure. It looks good on you and I like it!
I'm going to go for a hand painted wallpaper vibe in my livingroom. That will replace my "one wall of a different color" accent wall. You have to do what you love. It's your home, do what makes you happy. 😁 paint is literally the easiest thing to change.
Yes. I used to be like that too. Matchie Machie. But I dared to be bold one day and painted an accent wall behind the kitchen cabinets and over the hole above my fireplace. Everyone who seem it just raved on how nice it was. Some even put an accent wall in their home. Lol. Everytime someone new come into my home they always compliment me on my accent wall.
@@thepaintpeople 😆 couldn't stop... it was hard to take the vid seriously because of where my focus was....lol but, I get it. All in fun and you are a creative type. Have a nice week ;*)
There are a lot of people that share that opinion, but what this video intended to highlight was some of the reasoning behind using them. There are practical elements, and we are starting to see them make a bit of a comeback. Accent rooms tend to be the more popular alternative currently, but hey! It's all about personal taste. 😁
I hate red red takes forever to cover. It's like 6 7 12 Coats on multi-million dollar homes. Do you have a perfect get your s*** together? Stay away from reds, please. And yellow no yellow no red.

Your mom is so pretty. One can tell she is a real lady!

I love your Mom’s accent (wall)
Seriously, this was great advice!
Do you recommend painting the accent wall first or last? Thanks for all your great paint and color advice!
What are the two colors in this video?
Hmmm interesting video, I learned a lot. Now if I have windows on every wall in my cottage can I still use an accent color?

Should I paint a wall red and slap a white RUclips logo on it
Wondering what the two colors in this room are?
Awesome.
Where would you use an accent color in a living room? Would it be the wall with most light or no?

I have a new haircut today, it's called I tried, lol
I was going for the relaxed, Justin Bieber look, apparently!
@@thepaintpeople...Life is too short to have boring hair. 👀
@@thepaintpeople did you just say Justin Bieber?... noooo I was going to complement your haircut lol 🤦♀️
He's a changed man! Haha
Why you call your mom by her first name?
Very helpful tips! And I adore her accent. Squirrel and moose must die.
hahahah! Thank you!
J Royl?!?!
You know it!
I do not like accent walls!
I am really matchie matchie when it comes to a home. I will buy accent furniture.

I see them everywhere. Especially with board and batten. Forest Green or Dark Olive or Black.
@@neshmahenkel2428 You have every right to like them. People have different tastes in what they like and don't like.

I don’t like them at all
