Hell no it's not over!
I'm Just getting started 😂👍
I like accent walls here and there!!
I painted the staircase landing wall Interesting Aqua to accent a huge painting of a tree. The painting's main colors are green, bronze and blue. Interesting Aqua is not too green and not too blue. Thank Paint people for upping my knowledge of paint, LRV, etc.
I like accent walls a LOT, and I sure appreciate this video! I remember doing a color block wall in a granddaughters bedroom to highlight her medals from gymnastics. You are right 💯 all you need is a little creativity and you are good to go. This is an AWESOME video, James, thanks so much!
I have a couple accent walls in my home . Well placed they add dimension and interest .
I like the wood accent walls and the kitchen mural in the shelving in this video. I like the geometric ones too. In new homes, I've seen textured or metal with shapes in it. Thank you for sharing!
Great ideas! I like the molding or 3-D geometric shapes all one color. So many options to let everyone have fun with their accent walls.
This is very timely for our needs for our great room! Thanks
I have dyslexia and I read on the first one: "add mold texture" and I thought : shits goin too far these days 😂
😂😂
You really made me laugh 😂
Lots of great ideas. The diagonal wood wall looks really classy. I'm thinking about whether the chalkboard paint option might work in my kitchen.
I've never been a fan of an accent wall because it breaks off the flow of a room and can be jarring to the eye. On the other hand, the examples you offered are very tasteful and interesting. Good job, James. This video changed my mind.
Great info!
I like an interesting accent wall like you’ve shown, not just a block of color and call it an accent. Great video! Where did you source the picture with the awesome brown couch in the beginning? I love it.
I love my accent wall!
I just painted over a black chalkboard with magnetic paint in my basement which I did for the children. They used it had fun but I don’t need it anymore. Bm Navajo white again! The room looks brighter!
I love the acoustic panels you showed, especially the striped squares. I am from Montreal. Can they be bought locally in Canada, or do they have to be ordered from the UK? Keep up with the interesting colour combinations.
I am on team "Accent Ceiling," which is kinda another wall that is overhead.
Great video. I have been debating about an accent wall in primary bedroom but was thinking is this just boring (ie: just a colour) but I have not found something that will really look right with the room
I love this video ❤
Must be done in concert w a cohesive concept. At the hands of a talented designer?
The scene, photo Jay Wilde, at 5:25/10:24 is superb.
One of your very best videos, ty.
During the past two years I heard on RUclips that accent walls were done. But then these same RUclipsrs have shown rooms featuring accent walls in subsequent videos.
I really admire this channel a lot for not talking absolutes. Talking about ways to have a modified accent wall or blending walls with an accent wall shows thinking outside the box.
These are all good examples of when an accent wall is effective and polished: murals, wood shiplap. Having said that, rather than the timid one wall painted a color, top designers are now recommending to embrace a fully cohesive look: going for the "color drench" where all the walls, trim and ceiling are one color but different sheens; Bold, saturated colors all over; Wallpaper, in smaller prints on all the walls with a strong color accent trim; wallpaper on all the walls with matching fabrics on all the upholstery, curtains, bedding -that's very expensive old school design. I think the key here is to not be timid, and just paint one wall, when you could paint all four (if money was no object) -AND -having the ceiling the "fifth wall" -and that is the "accent wall" with lacquered finishes, wood shiplap, geometric designs, accent colors, etc.
I would never do accent walls in a house I owned; however, I'm doing them in my apartment 'cuz I'm broke & lazy 😅
Accent walls aren’t going anywhere. Sorry designers. Slat-wood walls will be put to bed when people realize the dust they kick up before the accent trend goes away.
Ugh, I hate slat wood walls
Only like accent walls in limited situations
I deeply dislike accent walls.
