Jagdtiger's Last Stand - 1/35 Diorama | Germany, March 1945

- My friends, in this video we're going to build a simple, yet quite large, "still" diorama for this 1/35th scale Jagdtiger. Creating realistic scenery in larger scales is more challenging because bigger scale usually means more detail. So I decided to keep it simple and rather focus on the delicate aspect of things - trying to make every corner of the scenery visually busy with vegetation, groundwork, colors and textures.

When i saw the thumbnail i thought this was a colorized historical photo
Same, originally scrolled past it lol
@@Youcanbuildmodels this exactly
Yep same here. Actually what caught my attention was the dots. Then I noticed the camouflage was the same. I thought oh wow, that’s a colorized photo of the jagdtiger nightshift is building! 😂🤣😂🤣
lol, I wanted to try a different thumbnail this time 😁 the usual black background is getting kinda old
Same
Thumbnails looks so realistic. i thought this is video from mark felton productions
You read my mind.
Mark Felton is a real one

I need to paint a Warhammer 40K model before that aircraft carrier tho
@@NightShiftScaleModels Oh by the Corpse Emperor please do. Im a big 40k fan and i've been hoping you'd do a less realistic model with a more...well...realistic paint style
@@NightShiftScaleModels Yes. Did i mention yes? Also yes.
Love it. You should definitely start doing more dioramas and include figures in them.
The Best Christmas diorama I’ve ever seen.
And Die Hard is the best Christmas movie.
@@NightShiftScaleModels And I love it)
Dude, are you kidding!? that is FREAKING AWESOME!
i actually thought the thubnail was a recolored pic from ww2 and a video about a documentary about the jagdtiger.
i was like O.O when i read nightshift
The "TOMMY! REVERSE NOW! THERE'S A GODDAM JAGDTIGER NEAR THE FENCES!" Diorama
This diorama should be called: “Oh Crap, Reverse Now! Load APCR! BILL REVERSE!”
Now why would you need apcr with this things massive 128mm canon?
Surely that’s better applied to an Italian tank?
@Oliver Viehland Ah would make much more sense but the jagdtiger was reversing in the diorama
@Oliver Viehland Willi, hau den Rückwärtsgang rein!
Did the 128mm even have APCR? I though all it carried was APCBC and HE?
this man is an amazing modeler but also a detail oriented psychopath
This was absolutely insane. The amount of things I learned both about modeling and about the tank was amazing, thank you so much for sharing with us.
I am very impressed. I have been modeling for almost 50 years and I do not have half the talent that you have. Very much enjoy your videos.
My Friend... You are an artist in many dimensions. I can't stop gluing my eyes to your videos! Your voiceover is even better!
Just looking at the thumbnail it looks like it's going to be glorious!
Love the Luke Towen shout out. Made me chuckle cause it’s true. Everyone watches that dude. He’s a scale modellers hero.
I watched the whole story of this model and I am utterly impressed. Such a realistic and lifelike result. Great job, Martin. As a Czech English teacher, I would like to mention that I am astounded by your command of Engish. I even learnt some new words and was reminded of a some other I haven't heard for quite a while.
Very much appreciate your detailed discussion and demonstration of not only your materials and techniques but your thoughts behind the execution. Martin excellent job!
Hahaha Uncle Night shift you’re not the only one that completely over thinks when building. I’m constantly looking at my models to see if what I did was right or not and I have to weather everything because it looks cool.
Jagdtiger, enemy of wooden fences since 1944.
'Typical Hans and the Panzer gang, YOLO!!!!
Great work as always, the results are beautiful.
The figgure is georgous!!!! I thought it was a real tank because of how well the figure is painted.
Gotta love the 'I watch Luke Towan vids like everyone else'.
Your right, the static grass is a nice feature, it's like glitter, it gets everywhere. XD
it even gets into closed bottles with thinner!
Luke Towan makes incredible scenes and has helped my scenery construction alot, well worth a look.
The thumbnail looked like it was straight out of a ww2 movie. Good job
You amaze me uncle . I learn something every time I watch your videos.
I have like no interest in models because I'm rubbish at painting but just seeing a super detailed jagdtiger diorama made me come here... Really good diorama in my not even amateur opinion.
MARTIN!!!!! Beautiful, my man. Simply beautiful.
Mr Night Shift...................That was an incredible diorama build. You remind me of me.
I never reached this level of skill. Not even close. I am grateful you do this, for I get to see wonderful work on your part. Thanks.
This guy is awesome! I always love watching his posts. ( Even though, I will never reach his level) He un-selfishly shares his techniques. I like his accent and sense of humor as well. I hope he never stops creating. I'm always looking forward to see his builds. I even re-visit the older ones all of the time. Thanks Night Shift, you inspire me to do better.
As someone just restoring his own wood doors. A little tip.
Acrilic wood putty starts drying fast, that is the reason for most of your clumps. Spread it quickly with a flexible metallic spatula, and keep the putty in the pot covered at all times with a plastic film.
So white putty seems finer to me, probably they use sawdust for the wood colour.
Uncle, you Rock! Greetings from Mexico.
This turned out absolutely amazing. You 100% killed this model and presentation
Wow…. Amazing… I can not even fathom me getting to this level of detail
Just watched this whole series tonight before and after dinner, a few days after Christmas 2021. Your work is amazing, but the biggest thing is you make your videos interesting. And that´s the most important thing. I´m a miniatures wargamer and painter so this level of modeling is like watching a TV chef cooking stuff I´ll never even dare. But as long as you keep it interesting and informative, I´ll keep watching. Cheers
Ah finally, my friday is now *complete* .
Same!
24 people disliked this video? I don't understand these people....this is a great diorama, and the explanation is fantastic. Thanks for sharing it.
The initial paintwork on the base gave me an idea for a challenge. A black and white model and vignette or in sepia colours as if it’s straight from an old movie.
It is so insane how far you've come in the past few years.
The vignette base is okay but I still still can' get over how well that figure turned out.
May it be the first of many.
That's not just a model. It's a work of art!
This one is brutally real!.. Excellent work
If I continue to make models for the rest of my remaining days on this planet, I won’t ever get even half as good as your efforts..
If you believe you can be 80% good as he is in 20% time
I Like the painted grass and the way you did that in... spots.
For fixing edges on the foam/clay base;
Try a filler PVA - glue - acrylic paint mix (like a smooth paste. You may need two or three layers but I find it works.
Tony
@Night Shift - bro ... you are truly a master of your craft.
Because of you I ordered my first plastic models :) I am so excited!
Greetings from NC USA!!! I didn't see anyone answer this if I missed it sorry, but to answer your question as the type of foam you used for this base, it's a non-static foam typically used to pack electronics for shipping as it also can be found in thin sheets. It protects electronics from static charge up or discharge which can occur from movement during shipment. Laptops, blu-ray players, or other types of computers. Which is why it was hard to apply stick grass. Not impossible just hard. Love your channel thanks!
Thank you, Uncle! Happy holidays to you.
One thing Marten, if I may. Wood bleaches when it is exposed to the sun. Consequently, where wood is covered, you will still have a "shadow" of where one plank crosses another, like two planks nailed together. Anyway, fabulous job.
Thanks for sharing your work, Martin!
It is greatly appreciated when someone likes to share some of their methods, so that others can take some notes away and learn a thing or two along the way.
Kindest Regards and Respect,
Ray, from Sydney Australia
Its totally AWESOME uncle nitenite.Thank you
Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to you and hope to see much more off your modeling.
And please keep save all.............
Who on earth disliked this video? This is fantastic work.

My hat is off to you! Your video was suggested by youtube and glad I clicked. I will be going back and watching all of your videos.
Great vignette. Love the simplicity. Very cool.
The new edited thumbnail is hella fire
Excellent diorama from the base up! Very nice ambush scheme!
You're totally right, it iiiiis visual asmr. Love your videos!
Crawling through the snow... in my big cold German sleigh...humming Christmas songs....blowing you away!!! Merry Christmas Martin! And btw your thumbnail looks legit!
I have had good results on the pink foam edges using
common spackling putty (used to fill nail holes, etc. in sheetrock).
probably spreads better than wood filler :)
great work. I always love to watch your videos before going to bed, they are so relaxing.
This Jagdtiger series was absolutely awesome!! I have rewatched every episode, but seeing the finished model on a superbly constructed diorama base, was the highlight.
I have learnt a lot watching you build this one, and hope to learn a lot more from you my friend. Keep them coming!
Thank you so much for this series. Used many of your techniques on my latest build, especially the wet-blending with enamels for all types of weathering. Keep up the good work and merry Christmas!
Great tank model builds. Makes me want to start doing some again. I built a lot of tamiya tank models back when I was a teenager. My mom threw them all away by the time I came home from the army. Scarred me for life. Enjoy your videos.
This is fine Art, produced by a pure master.
This series definetly deserves to be called Epic!
We both have a pulse painting enviable figures 😂😂😂. No jokes, great job, as always on you.
Diorame, vignette, call it what you want, turned out great! 👍 All that hard work paid off and I completely enjoyed the series! 💯
Yessssssss my excitement has been unmatched this morning!
Absolutely superb!!!!!! Brilliant commentary!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks Uncle Nightshift! What an amazing model & diorama, it looks tremendous!!
Amazing... Always amazing and flawless Martin!!!!
What an absolute UNIT
Merry Christmas to you, too, Uncaa Martin!
I seriously think this is your best work yet. Absolutely world class execution. It looks so so good and realisitc and was a blast to watch from start to finnish!
This, so far is my favorite one of your builds. Keep them coming! Ambush camo came out great.
This was a pretty epic series! Should have been on Netflix
This is the best model you made in my opinion and I’m glad you tried the figure painting
A gift for Christmas! Thanks!
My Friday Night Shift fix 😊😊😊😊 Great vid Great series!!!!! 👍👍👍👍
It's the tiny little details that do it. This diorama looks great. Good job 👍
Another masterpiece, so many details to enjoy...I do like the fence for example...Congrats!
I love the fact that Martin is showing that he is learning.
Dear Martin, Outstanding, simply, Outstanding! Wishing you & your Family a very Merry & safe Christmas. Kind Regards Johnny
Finally! What I've been waiting for!
really cool, this series is an awesome way to see what it takes to make a beautiful model like this.
Wow, to conclude this finally. And yes, I have some problems with overthinking my models, too. I am working for over one year now on my 1/72 what if king Tiger, don’t ask why, I don’t know. Still making changes. Well, I have to do a lot for job school, so no wonder.
Anyways, I want to give back something for the weekly entertainment, so I am a Patreon now. Merry Christmas, uncle Nightshift!
Really enjoyed this project. Still working my way through all your great vids. Cheers for all the effort that goes into these!
I just finished watching this whole jadgtiger series from first to last episode in one go, and I have to say, what a build, simply fantastic, also the minifigure looks great, dont wory lol
And merry christmas from Brazil to you and your tanks
