Sorry if you mentioned this, but with the positions in battles. When setting up what row they are in, if you have them in a row they cant attack from there is a small symbol by their level (sword with a cross through) that shows they cant attack
Great guide! I'm just playing on normal, so I feel like a lot of what you said doesn't apply to me. I'll be coming back for another look if I ever decide to attempt hard.
I’m playing on hard without restrictions. It’s pretty clear that hard mode with all restrictions is what the game was designed around, sort of like Deathmarch and Witcher 3. I have a million gold right now and am drowning in materials. Guessing I’m 2/3 through.
thanks for the tips man. yes the dungeons are usually long and healing become one of my concern. another is the bag slot i hope i can find a way to expand soon enough
guess one option is whit cassandra in team bench your main healer and use another in random fights just to lvl them then swap if you think a boss is coming up
Obviously if you set the option where healing items don’t work, healing items won’t work. The revive has a heal on it of 30 points. Maybe change the title to “some stuff I kinda sorta figured for anyone who turns on all the random options at once” On hard without turning on every single option, much of this is irrelevant
Yeah im aware the revive has a heal however you cant use attack items, MP healing items, Status recovery items despite what the tooltip says so those can all be sold more freely as well. Also one of them says you cannot flee from battle which I get but if you are a high enough level the enemy will try to flee but the game wont let them so thats kind of a mis translation also. Overall the restrictions dont change to much outside of a few key moments but they are even more restrictive than at first glance.
Characters who fall in battle are automatically revived with 1 HP afterward. The game literally made revival items unusable, except for selling to vendors. That’s bad design. All they had to do to fix this was add a rune that allows its bearer to use items in battle. Suikoden 2 already had something like this called the Medicine Rune. It was bad in that game, but would actually be good here.
Antidote is useless even in normal mode because instead of wasting an action to remove poison, you could just be one more step closer to defeating the enemies.
By accident I had yuthus... Shield guy... However it's spelled in the second row. He couldn't attack but when farming on auto he would use his perfect block or whatever it's called every turn and jump information of others occasionally taking their damage while building up sp for hero attacks or whatever. Not best in slot but interesting enough that I'll mess with it more for auto play.
Not even in the same ballpark. I found OT2 suoer easy while this game is super hard early on. As you get more power it gets less punishing but those first 15 hours can be rough
The difficulty seems pretty modular where you can toggle several of the restrictions but I have them all on. No point beyond wanting to do the hardest thing
So you turn on an optional thing, just so you can shuffle around partymembers on savepoints to work around the retarded restrictions you put on..... yeah no. Not gonna do that. And it defenitely makes the game seem kinda bad in terms of balancing.
it's not an optional thing she's literally part of the game. the restriction is just for challange hungry players. not sure why you're offended by his vid.
@VAANET I'm actually on the opposite end of that thought chain. Don't get me wrong I backed eiyuden real fast and love every minute I'm playing. But compared it to Suikoden 2? Suikoden 2 to this day is the best rpg I've played ever.
Playing Normal Mode but love the “MP Battery” idea 💡 😮
The healing tip with the characters at saving points is great! I did not think of that.
Thats some hardcore restrictions.
They really are quite transformative. Changes the way I played early game greatly
@@purplatypus7405 Imagine doing a nuzlocke with all those restrictions. 😂😢

Inapparently missed mellore... 😢 is she re-attainable later?

True for regular fights, absolutely not recommended for boss-fights.
Does this game get harder i find it unbelievably easy
It's a very easy game. Unless you do hard mode all restrictions then the first 15 hours are brutal but then it gets very easy after that.
I am so excited to play this tomorrow!!! I been waiting for this game since playing Rising, which was also a very good game
it's fantastic
Hope you don’t play it on the Switch. Otherwise Rip 🪦
@@nachobrigante6581 I just got this game for the Switch yesterday. (Physical copy) 🤷
Will have to buy it on sale or something. Stellar Blade on Friday, I don't have time.
Imagine just playing one game to rush through it ASAP.. 😂
Never buy armor, got it, great tip

Do you have to use all your heroes or can I just use the 10 that are my favorites?
It's better to use them all but you can use your 6 favorite nearly all the time with some story exceptions
Does anyone know what the Dex Stat does?
It definitely affects chance to hit and I think dodge rate but I'm not sure if it changes crit chance
Jw how does the difficulty compare to octopath 2?

@@micshazam842 I think pretty much all the difficulty comes from no items and no money. Makes healing almost impossible early game
Damn u on it
Are all the restrictions part of Hard Mode? And is there a point to doing it like unlocks or achievements?
The difficulty seems pretty modular where you can toggle several of the restrictions but I have them all on.
No point beyond wanting to do the hardest thing
personally i only turned on hard mode and left the rest off

Slurs make you edgy and cool sounding 🙄
Hardest part of the game is how much it makes you wish it was Suikoden.
Game is better than suikoden. ❤
@TERRYEE88 you're allowed to be wrong is ok.
Ehhhh he's right though LOL. Suikoden 2 is gonna be tough to play without nostalgia after this

This game is bad 😂. Its missing so many QoL changes.
Just admit you're a low-iq gamer and move on?
