One of the main reasons I love this franchise is because of the struggle between Templars and the Assassins. They both make good points and it's hard to choose whose right even though you play as the assassins. Both sides want what they think is best for mankind.
Not really, I mean look at the countries with dictatorships and those with freedom as their foundation, who has achieved more? you see freedom inspires greatness in humans.
Connor Kenway there is no such thing as freedom. He was such a good man deep down and yet was misunderstood so much. Dude literally could’ve fixed the world but his misguided self righteous son just had to kill him. The last smart and good Templar that could restore balance to the colonies. What a shame he died
I just love this man. He is my favorite of all characters. next to him is Edward. then Connor. The Kenway Saga is such a tragedy. I can't tell how often they're life break my heart. The most emotional characters of assassins creed. my opinion.
Fennix And just imagine how all of it wouldve never happened if Edward never got killed by those mercenaries. He wouldve trained Haythem into the Assassin Order, possibly Connor's existence would never happen because Haythem might of stayed in England with Edward.
Seeing this is heartbreaking, but seeing this side of Haytham is very gratifying. In game they made Haytham seem as though he cared nothing little for his son, but this shows he truly did care for and love his son. Shame their paths were so different. The Kenway saga is such a tragedy.
Haytham was a better character than Connor in my opinion. Unlike con man he wasn’t misguided and manipulated as easily and actually saw the world for what it really was. A joke of a place that needed to be restored with peace. Haytham was the one piece to restore the order and of course he died before he could
When Connor was about to be hung one of Achilles and his assassins shot an arrow at the rope but it didn't break it so haytham who was secretly watching threw his knife at it and saved connors life So sad how this wasn't mentioned in the game
Did Haytham let Connor kill him intentionally? I mean if he intended for Connor to read this journal, then surely he didn't intend to kill Connor. Yet he could have flea with Charles Lee but he chose to stay behind to face his son. If so it would explain why he was so careless in the battle letting his son stab him in the neck.
Given Haytham's great combat expertise, it's clear that before the very moment he was killed by Connor, he was trying to make a point to him, possibly to leave behind the true nature of the Templars in Connor's mind before passing away. There's no way Haytham wasn't aware of such a blatant opening, seeing as he was well aware of hidden blades and held down Connor's neck to delay killing him. It was clear in Forsaken that Haytham wasn't planning on walking out of his fight with Connor alive, and he took that chance to explain everything to Connor about why the Templars believe so strongly about their cause.
Kettz I think Haytham intended for Connor to kill him, Haytham has superior assassin training if you have read 'Forsaken', A book about Haytham's childhood and about how he became a templar when raised by an assassin.
Man, I will admit it, Haytham was one of the most complex characters they ever made. he was such an innocent kid until Edward died by the very man who would corrupt his kid, then he decides to be the gray line only to then have to convince his son of his intentions and keep a front up so he couldn't be the man everyone wanted him to be. He reminds me a lot of Ezio and Edward, like Ezio his story is about revenge against the man who killed his own father and like Edward, he is true to his ideals. I'm loving both Edward and Haytham, Connor has a long way to go before I like him.
I'm just curious on your perspective, but what do you think Connor has to do or change in order for him to become better in your eyes? Just looking for more point of views.
Hannah Wu Connor is better these people don't see that Haytham was a monster for letting his wife AKA Connor's mother die and Haytham stood by and let the Templars do as they please and cause chaos.
Megaproductions302 Haytham didn't let his wife die, George Washington was responsible for the attack on Kanatahséton. It's all in the game. He didn't even learn about Kaniehtí:io's death until Lee tells him. Yes, he's stuck in his Templar ways, but that's because he was manipulated since his childhood. But he does have good intentions, like many of the Templars, just following a wrong way.
@@florianseaman6289he was a real man who had real love and real emotions. The only reason he let Connor kill him is because he’s only human and couldn’t kill his son since he reminded him of Ziio. His emotions got in the way and he knew that Connor would eventually kill one way or another anyway

,,But my own father never lied to me". Don't know why, but I have a kind of nostalgic feeling every time I hear this sentence. Maybe because AC4 was my first AC game and because of this I like Edward especially. This sentence shows what a great man he was, beneath the greed for gold. Edward always tried to do the right thing, after understanding his course was wrong. And he told his son to do so too. He teached Haytham to think for himself. He might have had his mistakes, but he was a man with ideals, that always wanted to do good and tried to raise his son to do as him. I don't know why, but I love this sentence.
we need a full Haytham game, from the POV of the twmplars (like rogue) from being a child with his father, to how he got adopted by the templars and trained to kill.
TheMegaUzumaki Damn you must really dislike Haytham... since I see you everywhere hating on him. Why must your time on a well written fictional character trying to bring him down in every way? It's pretty pathetic I say...
The thing with the Templars and Assassins is that neither side is wrong. The two simply believe in two different yet completely valid philosophies. The Templars tend to focus on the failings of man kind and use order as a means of protecting people from those short comings. Assassin's focus more on the positive aspects of mankind and believe that given the opportunity, human beings can choose the right path so long as they are free to make that choice on their own. Both sides raise valid points and that's what makes the conflict between these two forces so interesting. Well......It was interesting in the past anyway. The conflict in the present is much more black and white. Templars are evil villains while Assassins are the blameless good guys. That's the main reason why I don't care about the present day story line. It's your standard good versus evil story.
The Templars are evil and kill innocents. In Ezio's time they intended to enslave humanity with the apple, In AC4 they hoped to find the mysterious observatory to spy on the whole world and use knowledge as power, in AC3 they wanted to spread chaos and rise as kings. And as for the modern world... they wanted the world to end. The Templars are always wrong... Haytham is an exception
Megaproductions302 In Ezio's time they wanted to find the Apple so they could open the vault and fulfill the prophesy that both the Assassins and Templars believed in. In AC 3 Conner wanted to help create a new nation that would act out his dream of a government based on the will of the common man, where as the Templars wanted to help create a new nation that would realize their dream of a government based on Law, order and security. In AC4 both factions wanted the observatory so they could find hidden truths and dispel lies. The difference is that the Templars would use this knowledge to preserve order, while the Assassins would use it to teach and enlighten the people. It all goes back to the difference of philosophies that I mentioned earlier. The Templars believe that men are inherently selfish and self destructive. They don't believe men are capable of governing themselves freely, so they are more concerned with maintaining law, order and security over free will. The Assassins believe that while men can be selfish, they have the potential to overcome their selfishness and make the correct choices if they are given knowledge and an opportunity to do so. This is where the conflict between the Assassins and the Templars stems from. Of course there are evil Templars who pervert the original message of the order for their own personal gain, but the same could be said for some Assassins. Just look at Abbas from AC Revelations. He disobeyed the Creed and killed countless innocents just to spite Altair. I don't agree with the Templars but they do make good points. People can be selfish, they can be violent and many of them think more of themselves then they do the good of their fellow man. This is why I can't say that their philosophy is completely wrong. I ultimately side with the Assassins more since they offer much greater hope for the future of the world, but the Templars make good points about the current state of the world.
I agree. but I will admit that I am actually drawn more to the belief of the Templars than the Assassins. if I was in the middle of this, I'd definitely side with the Templars. If you follow the series really REALLY carefully, you might notice that the Assassin's have no proper counter-logic against the Templars, whereas the latter actually has valid points against the Assassins. It all comes down to which side can have the strongest contribution to the betterment of humanity. Throughout the whole series, Haytham was the best Templar because he was the perfect Templar Master as he was actually devoted to the progress of the world. Prince Ahmet from Revelations was also a somewhat good Templar Master. Other Templars in the series were sucky, e.g. Rodrigo and Cesare Borgia were only interested in power for themselves, nothing else. (I AM THE PROPHET!!! I AM THE PROPHET!!!)
Fatihun Siddiqui I see your point but I would argue that the Assassins don't present a counter argument because they don't believe it is necessary. Their philosophy is centered around faith in humanity and not logic. The Assassins fight because they have genuine faith that humanity can find the right path on their own. The problem I have with Templars is that when you think about it, their philosophy is kind of hypocritical at its core. The Templars believe that people can't be trusted with freedom or power and that those with power will inevitably abuse it. This is why they want to create a world of order where everyone is told what to do and everyone is equal in the sense that they all lack power over themselves and over others. They will simply be told how to live their lives from the day they are born to the day they die. The idea that humans will abuse power and therefore should not be trusted with it makes sense, but the fatal flaw is that in order for the world of order to come about, someone will have to take control to make sure it happens and that someone will most definitely be a Templar. The Templars claim that no human can be trusted with too much power and yet they expect us to let them have it? The Templars are still human and therefore are just as untrustworthy as any other human being. According to their philosophy, they shouldn't be given power either. This and the fact that the Assassins present more hope for the future are why I ultimately don't support the Templars.
After reading about the forsaken books I realized that all the Assassins Creed games were biased. The Templars are actually the good guys. Haytham was a great man, he did not deserve to die.
Nope, when the Assassin's professed the goal of peace (Ie. 3rd Crusade and the ACTUAL Hashasin) they were the `good guys`. Only when they turned from Peace to Freedom.
TheSealock HIGH FIVE! I agree, I finally understood the Templar side of the story, and I also agree that Haytham shouldn't have died, but, I value Connor's impression of him at the end of the book when he finally confessed that killing his father was a mistake.. I'll just keep to the fanfiction stories (Y)
Haytham did not deserve to die indeed, but let's not forget how the Templers, at least in previous AC games tried to achive their goals. I agree with some of the Templar views, but I agree more with the Assassins about how to achive the goals.
Indeed, perhaps their way of achieving their goals were more cruel and uncivilized, yet, what they striven to achieve for makes me more loyal to their views rather than the assassins. In a nutshell, i dislike the Templar way, but agree with their views, and i dislike the Assassin views, but agree with their way of achieving
The Templars from AC2 and Brotherhood were just corrupt, power hungry nobleman. Most of the Templars who were killed by Altair were sincere, although many of them were still cruel. The Templars are the evidence that power corrupts. They consider humans to weak to govern themselves, but they seem to forget that they themselves are also just humans with the same weaknesses as everybody. Young Haytham was a true gentleman with strong convictions, but look how cruel he later became. Killing people unnecessarily and even telling his own son that he should have killed him earlier.
I think connor don't have any choice. he can't kill charles lee if he don't kill his father. but, in tyranny king washington, he did what his father want. i think, connor must have a sequel. that my opinion :D
When I first heard this, it hit me like Daniel Cross' last words did that these people were not as bad as I originally thought. Think about it for a second. Haytham was tricked into joining the Templars and Daniel was kidnapped and brainwashed by Abstergo. I regret killing them both. Knowing that Daniel possibly could have been cured of the bleeding effect, and Haytham, while he would have stayed with the Templars, could have been reasoned with maybe...
Haytham represented the TRUE Templars. In Truth the Templars are `good guys` they seek peace and understand that such a goal cannot come through Freedom but order, purpose and direction. Which in my opinion is correct, as I find total freedom (the kind that the Assassin's fight for) an `invitation for anarchy. The Assassin's during the 3rd crusade are the best. Their words are by "Peace in all things" no this talk of freedom but peace. Which is what Haytham also believes. It's the whole deal with 2 sides of the same coin.
Ky Trickett I think this is the result of a prolonged war. Ideologies can transform, the motives shift, or the interpreters become too idealistic or self-righteous. The next entry broke the pattern.
Ky Trickett I guess its the balance between the two. When one of the two becomes dominant the other side rises and cuts it down again. Its like a conversation/debate the two sides are having throughout the ages.
***** I find that both the true Templar and Assassin ideologies are flawed. There's certainly a grey area between control and anarchy, due to the inconsistency of human behavior. To achieve true peace, I believe that moderation is the key. The two sides constantly warring with each other does do a good job at simulating the in between though, holding each other at bay so that one side is readily available to pull down the other if one power becomes too big.
Of course! In my eyes, petty criminal acts play a gear in society. It's simple to say that the absence of any real crime would be catastrophic, and that it's actually the cops' job to keep them in check without wiping out criminals and crime entirely. Moderation of chaos and order is key.
I think the best part about Haytham's character is that the first time you play AC3, you have absolutely no doubt that he is an Assassin. That right there shows that Templars and Assassins are so similat to each other and they want to achieve almost the same thing.
You can read, but there's nothing more about her. They parted - Haytham traveled to America and she left to London on Queen Anne's Square and lived there. They mailed each other - but it was nothing for them to discuss. And Haytham said "Nothing is what we discussed"
Really shows how much of a victim to the Templars Haytham was. It could be easy to say that he could’ve walked away when he learned the truth about what Burch did to his father and sister, but at the same time, he was raised from a young age to be a Templar that it was the only life he knew
With the society that we live in, it seems Haytham was honestly right. We humans pervert our freedoms, and not do morally good actions. When you see true evil that man can cause, you'd want God to strip away our free will.
He didn't - he never changed sides, since he never really had the choice... Haytham was always a Templar, but with some Assassin beliefs (because of his father's teachings)... You could say, he was a man with a unique perspective, as he describes it himself. :)
After hearing these words I've come regret my judgement of Haytham as callous, uncaring, and selfish individual. Though short his words were sincere and proves that he loves his son but just doesn't know how to express it towards connor until after he has passed. Shame
This speech overall was amazing. It showed a side of Haytham that we had never seen before. Knowing that Haytham really did love his son truly hit me hard.
Cesare Borgia reminds me of Charles Lee. I considered them bad because they were power hungry. But I think Haytham would be a good kind of templar. But I dont think Connor was bad either, think about it could you really blame Connor for being upset about his mothers death? I mean Haytham was in a bad place at the wrong time. I bet if Haytham stayed at the frontier when all this happened I'm sure he would have killed Charles. But yet I dont believe Connor should feel ashamed.
Yes, the one thing that makes Haytham different from many other Templars is that he truly believes in true Templar ideology. He remains uncorrupted, is selfless, and truly wishes for peace. It's only because of his experiences with human behavior and his exposure to the primitive, deceptive side of humanity that he remains convinced that the human heart cannot be trusted to take care of itself, and that a firm hand and sword is required to achieve peace.
thats an interesting point. But alot of people during that time wanted him dead. Washington himself owned slaves and supposenly was the one who burned Connors village. So in all honesty, Washington was not no angel but he wasnt completely bad either compared to another corrupted people. He however was a pretty good leader but some people thought and he wouldn't be.
true but with all do respect the dlc was a what if scenario. It wasn't actual history. The point you made about Haytham though was good but I think even Haytham wasn't all that good neither. I mean only god knows if he really knew that his comrades hurt connor as a kid.
@TheMegaUzumaki agreed. He still would have sought vengeance for the death of Ziio and the burning of the village but he may not have necessarily needed to become an assassin to achieve that.
I have a real love hate relationship with Conner and Haytham in AC3. On the one hand the idea of father and son being forced to fight one another is an interesting one and both Haytham and Conner are interesting characters in their own right, but I feel like their relationship was rushed. The beginning of the game builds up their first meeting like it's supposed to be this huge event, but then when they finally do meet Haythem immediately recognizes Conner as his son and the two of them are already at each others throats. When exactly did Haytham find out Conner was his son? All their character interaction is done within a single sequence and then the next time they meet they are fighting to the death. I just felt like I had missed something. It felt as though crucial story scenes were cut out and the narrative feels rushed as a result.
it's explained in the book that Haytham recognizes the necklace connor wears as once belonging to his mother, and it portrays his reaction to the news.
TheBrokenMadMan Even if that's the case such a big moment should have been portrayed in the game. The characters in the game talked as though they had met two to three times before we actually saw them interact. It made the story feel really disjointed and unfinished.
There should be a DLC where Connor has a mission that accidentally bumps into Haytham's journals, reads it and forgives him.. Meaning Haytham would be used as a some sort of helper in the creed
I almost couldn't believe it and felt so happy and grateful, when I heard that Loomer actually chose my question and Mr. Hough started reading it so wonderfully, so I had to make a video to go along with it, immediately after it was released! It was a dream come true! :)
I just don't understand how Connor can be so blind to the truth. I have so much respect for Haytham, that even though he was on the other side. he still loved his son who would later kill him. In fact He gave his life to tell Connor the truth. But still Connor didn't listen. I just can't understand that.
forsaken is a novel that focuses on events prior and during Assassin's Creed III, and unveils Haytham Kenway's roots, showing the story of how he became a Templar
Haytham made the Templers look like the right choice, where in rouge they just made the assassin's bad ac3 did well in displaying how both sides are right but only one can prosper
No matter what, Haytham was always an Assassin never a templar, his life unfortunately took a wrong turn when his father died and his life was always filled with lies and deception. That's why it was destiny for the line to go back to it's natural course in Connor.
Lol No, He truly believed in the templar order and wouldve never betrayed them. When he learned his father was killed by a templar, he didnt change sides, for Haytham, the templar order is right, this world needs order, freedom is an invitation to chaos.
Ozone4879 well of course he did, it was already engraved in him since he was a kid, but his beliefs were always in doubt when he found out that the man who taught him everything about the Templars was also the same man who killed his father and thus tried to unite the Templars and Assassin's when he became Grand Master
Ozone4879 of course he did, Connor's his son, but like Haytham was when he tried to avenge his father, Connor only cared about avenging his mother and to each his own was an obstacle and were willing to kill each other to achieve their goals.
Haytham Kenway was and still is the best Templar in all Assassin's Creed games ever known, he is a great man in the game like he should had been in the real world i'm gonna miss him a fucking lot.. :( man his final words were sad, I began to cry when i saw the video... :'''(
The ultimate tragedy with the Kenway Saga was how close they were in ending the war between the Assassin and Templar. The culmination came in Unity, with all hope lies in Elise and Arno, but they failed.
I know that feel bro. I love how in this Assassin's Creed we got a better approach on Templars, and we actually saw how they're fight is just like every other in humanity. We're not meant, to fight and kill each other, but the sad reason is that we think differently, which is the only that makes us different in ourselves.
Edward may have been a pirate clouded by greed, but he eventually corrected his mistakes once almost everyone he knew died. Stede Bonnett, Edward Teach, Mary Read, and the others he was close to have died due to the rising in his pirate actions. Ah-Tabai gave Edward a second chance and he was quick to jump on it in a serious manner. In the end, he redeemed himself.
The next best thing after the Ezio family is this thrilling, but tragic family bloodline. The Kenway's are my favourite even Haytham himself despite being a Templar Master.
He also know that templer & Assassins are ideal in many ways. Which also shows in Assassin's Creed Rogue & Assassin's Creed 3 but both games are underrated, but some people understands what they mean
Now the kenways are probably sharing a drink with Ade in the afterlife....hopefully Connor and Haytham reconciled with Ziio. Probably not the hugging type either
Washington had nothing to do with the burning of Connors village the first time. Haytham was trying to get closer to Connor by making up lies in order to make him turn on Washington. Its true that Haytham had nothing to do with the attack but it was Charles Lee all along and some soldiers who were once under Washington's control.
Megaproductions302 | No, Washington and his armies were the ones who burned down Connor's village because of the Iroquois' resistance against the Americans and their support for the British. It is true that Haytham had nothing to do with it, but he also refrained from telling Connor this truth until it would benefit him. (A.K.A. Turn Connor against Washington and realize what he's doing)
Haytham was a thoroughly nuanced Templar who was honest about the Templar goals and didn't sugarcoat things. His path through life has been shaped by lies and sorrow, through his words he probably wished things had been different. I kinda wish we had gotten another game with Connor I felt in time he would have been just as nuanced.
I realise that the templars and the assassins all want the same thing.. peace, but their journeys are not the same one wants freedom for all but the other wants to keep them safe by controlling them being their sheperds. so if you think about it they are both the good guys. just to opposite sides of spectrum.
Rogue * We need balance. Just like in real life. In WESTERN Contries people abused their freewill (feminist, antifa ) basically attacks everyone who disagree with them. While dictatorship abused total control (North Korea, China (not as bad today))
love him or hate him he truly gave all of us a shocking when he was a templar revealed. he's style was also soo different. he was precise as well as brutal.
Both followed different cause with the same goal but only one made the sacrifice good lies within all of us but it's buried deep in some which is only found when they are gone
I love how the game gives Haytham sleek black hair in the beginning, but towards the end of the game if you pay attention you can see the streaks of gray
I love Haytham Kenway and my favorite templar.Shay is my second favorite templar. The man kept it real in my opinion.Imagine Haytham Kenway was real and he ran for president.
finally someone who understands man I hope we see young Haytham in AC4 or play a little of Connor in AC4 OR 5 OR W/E the Kenway saga has truly made Assassin's creed ten times more interesting

Really wish they would offer it some closure though.
you have your view I have mine for me its Ezio Auditore , man lost everything father brothers love but still kept going and became a legend for me
Seeing this is heartbreaking, but seeing this side of Haytham is very gratifying. In game they made Haytham seem as though he cared nothing little for his son, but this shows he truly did care for and love his son. Shame their paths were so different. The Kenway saga is such a tragedy.
Did you rou read Forsaken? Do it. I just love this man. it was great to read how he really was. What he really feels.
ya i always liked hayham more than connor
+Arvind srivatsav ...theory Haythans boyfriend was Shay... SHHHHH
*****
XDDDD I ship them wuhuuuu
Haytham was a better character than Connor in my opinion. Unlike con man he wasn’t misguided and manipulated as easily and actually saw the world for what it really was. A joke of a place that needed to be restored with peace. Haytham was the one piece to restore the order and of course he died before he could
When Connor was about to be hung one of Achilles and his assassins shot an arrow at the rope but it didn't break it so haytham who was secretly watching threw his knife at it and saved connors life
So sad how this wasn't mentioned in the game
Dragonball101 good to know someone else knows this
but atleast its mentioned in forsaken and its pure canon and part of the story.
In was mentioned when they first meet up to work together Haytham tells him that he's the one that saved him
Bro we see Connor's perspective in the game
@@ssw7323yes but we don’t see the arrow or the knife
Did Haytham let Connor kill him intentionally? I mean if he intended for Connor to read this journal, then surely he didn't intend to kill Connor. Yet he could have flea with Charles Lee but he chose to stay behind to face his son.
If so it would explain why he was so careless in the battle letting his son stab him in the neck.
It's hard to say
if you read book, u know he saved his life i think? from gallows
Reizo Hanazawa i know lol
But he does have good intentions, like many of the Templars, just following a wrong way.
false information
Megaproductions302 actually its all truth, play the game and read the book
Rest in peace haytham. I will miss you. You will always be my favorite Templar
Chris Atlas Jimenez And mine
***** your wrath is unneeded
+Apo Eren Rock jesus christ calm down i dont think he thinks he is real he has a valid point out of all templars he was the coolest
Requescat in pace
@@florianseaman6289he was a real man who had real love and real emotions. The only reason he let Connor kill him is because he’s only human and couldn’t kill his son since he reminded him of Ziio. His emotions got in the way and he knew that Connor would eventually kill one way or another anyway
This made me cry a little because I like him haythem kenway he was a good man rest in peace
Perfect Cell lonewolf *Haytham (not Haythem)

Jacksepticeye's Hero, Father actually. :)
I was read the book Assassins Creed forsaken a book that contains Haytham's journal entries, I played this video and read the final entry! It made the book come alive for the first time!
,,But my own father never lied to me".
Templars
He's a much better character then his son.
My problem with AC3 is that after playing as him, connor is just a shadow.
Pff, Edward was just a dog. Haytham was a real man.
you are fucking everywhere you loser
TheMegaUzumaki Damn you must really dislike Haytham... since I see you everywhere hating on him. Why must your time on a well written fictional character trying to bring him down in every way? It's pretty pathetic I say...
I respect your opinion, however, I recommend checking out Connor's forsaken epilogue. Who knows, it may sway your opinion of him.
Well haythan is better than edward in things like fighting style but connor he was a war man like ezio lel
So true! For AC4 I hoped that ubisoft would drop the present-time and just focus on the past, where the story is much more interesting :D
It just shows you how much he cared for his son deep down.
Man... knowing Haytham saved Connor during his execution really made switch perspectives for days to follow! 🌟
Forsaken has been my top favourite Assassin's Creed novel and noticing Adrian Hough making this makes me so happy!!
Haytham was my favorite character in ac3 and of course, Connor also.
thank you
Haytham is my favorite templar #templarpower
I think connor don't have any choice. he can't kill charles lee if he don't kill his father. but, in tyranny king washington, he did what his father want. i think, connor must have a sequel. that my opinion :D
CosmicNava and both Juno, and his dad Haytham manipulated him.
Watching this and Connors cut speech back 2 back is just so good.
i find it hard not to stop my eyes watering when listening to this.
Awww it's so nice that Haytham actually cares about Connor. Love Ac!!❤️
Ky Trickett
I guess its the balance between the two.
He is a good father. He got so many chances to kill Connor but he didn't.
I know you :D
Hey father why did you kill that man...
He wasn't trying to he even saved Connor from being hanged
I think the best part about Haytham's character is that the first time you play AC3, you have absolutely no doubt that he is an Assassin.
That right there shows that Templars and Assassins are so similat to each other and they want to achieve almost the same thing.
56 Years of Age
That's kinda young 60 would be an old age to die..
The fact that we never got the AC forsaken book narrated by haytham is a true tragedy
We should get Adrian hough to do it on a video. andy serkis read lord of the rings and did his gollum voice
i would like to hear more about his sister, jennifer kenway/scott.
Buy Assassin's Creed Forsaken. Brilliant book.
You can read, but there's nothing more about her. They parted - Haytham traveled to America and she left to London on Queen Anne's Square and lived there. They mailed each other - but it was nothing for them to discuss. And Haytham said "Nothing is what we discussed"
I know this is late, but who is the author of AC forsaken?
Never too late;) Oliver Bowden
Templars sold her in to sexual slavery
Really shows how much of a victim to the Templars Haytham was. It could be easy to say that he could’ve walked away when he learned the truth about what Burch did to his father and sister, but at the same time, he was raised from a young age to be a Templar that it was the only life he knew
The Kenway Saga was the peak of Assassin's Creed
He knew he might let Connor kill him. Poor Haytham. He just wanted to show his son
And the world the truth. But no one would listen
Shame
Hey distant cousin! 😀
I cried when i read this part... ;'(
Yes, I'm crying.
I also feel the other uncorrupted templar was John Pitcrain.
thats an interesting point.
I agree with you completely
it's explained in the book that Haytham recognizes the necklace connor wears as once belonging to his mother, and it portrays his reaction to the news.
"The templar order is born out of realation" Rest in peace Grand Master Kenway ⚔🛡
Anyone else thinks there should be a DLC where you play as Hayham in ACBF?
Hyatham wasn't born until the very END of black flag. And even then he was only 8 wdf are you supposed to do as him?
I think they said there has been planning
I cry everytime...
I almost couldn't believe it and felt so happy and grateful, when I heard that Loomer actually chose my question and Mr. Hough started reading it so wonderfully, so I had to make a video to go along with it, immediately after it was released! It was a dream come true! :)
"A thousand pardons!"
I just don't understand how Connor can be so blind to the truth. I have so much respect for Haytham, that even though he was on the other side. he still loved his son who would later kill him. In fact He gave his life to tell Connor the truth. But still Connor didn't listen. I just can't understand that.
Because you got the whole thing twisted way beyond repair.
James Carter Oh really, you don't know shit about what I believe and judge me for my name tag and because I say that Haytham was right.
martingeld Now, with that comment you made yourself appear even more stupid than you already were.
I understand too. Haythem is a sympathizer character and would relate to a lot of people in real life.
It was deleted from the game files but listen to Connor last words to his father he basically explains himself and puts forth what he believes
forsaken is a novel that focuses on events prior and during Assassin's Creed III, and unveils Haytham Kenway's roots, showing the story of how he became a Templar
At least, he was killed by his own son not by some random dude
Haytham made the Templers look like the right choice, where in rouge they just made the assassin's bad ac3 did well in displaying how both sides are right but only one can prosper
RIP Haytham, we will never forget you
One of the great character. Best lines from Haytham - My on father never lied to me. Rest in peace.

Ozone4879 well of course he did, it was already engraved in him since he was a kid, but his beliefs were always in doubt when he found out that the man who taught him everything about the Templars was also the same man who killed his father and thus tried to unite the Templars and Assassin's when he became Grand Master
pelu101
Well he actually tried to convince Connor to join him
Ozone4879 of course he did, Connor's his son, but like Haytham was when he tried to avenge his father, Connor only cared about avenging his mother and to each his own was an obstacle and were willing to kill each other to achieve their goals.
pelu101 you have a couple of points wrong
Ironic His own Father a Assassin Master and Deadliest Pirate in the 7 seven is more honest than the templars who raised with lies and deceit.
Rats and weasels often lie. Because they are empty and cowardly.
So tragic :(
The next best thing after the Ezio family is this thrilling, but tragic family bloodline. The Kenway's are my favourite even Haytham himself despite being a Templar Master.
when you listen to their last words, you realize they have a point, especially haytham.
Rest In peace Grandmaster Haytham Kenway🙏🏾
1 Edward
2 Haytham
3 Connor
You are great Assassin/Templar of Colonial
He also know that templer & Assassins are ideal in many ways. Which also shows in Assassin's Creed Rogue & Assassin's Creed 3 but both games are underrated, but some people understands what they mean
A little in unity also..
Listening to the audio of this video and reading the final part of Assassins creed forsaken I feel so good and so sad at the same time
Now the kenways are probably sharing a drink with Ade in the afterlife....hopefully Connor and Haytham reconciled with Ziio.
(A.K.A. Turn Connor against Washington and realize what he's doing)
phantomlight Which is the reason why Connor said "How long did you sit on this information or am I meant to believe you only discovered it now"
Haytham was a thoroughly nuanced Templar who was honest about the Templar goals and didn't sugarcoat things. His path through life has been shaped by lies and sorrow, through his words he probably wished things had been different. I kinda wish we had gotten another game with Connor I felt in time he would have been just as nuanced.
After learning more about haytham I have a whole new respect for him.
I realise that the templars and the assassins all want the same thing.. peace, but their journeys are not the same one wants freedom for all but the other wants to keep them safe by controlling them being their sheperds. so if you think about it they are both the good guys. just to opposite sides of spectrum.
*just two opposite sides of the spectrum.
His voice is so damn pretty. I fell in love with him after 2 minutes of gameplay.
He was one of the best, yes... and he will certainly be missed! :')
I hope we see him in ac4.
May the Father of Understanding guide us
I love how the game gives Haytham sleek black hair in the beginning, but towards the end of the game if you pay attention you can see the streaks of gray
cried when i read forsaken and now there's ocean forming around me while listening this, ohgod ;____; /3
Haytham had so many opportunity to kill connor but he didnt...
We need more Templars like Haytham, Shay, and Monroe.
Gives me chills.
If there was a James Bond animated movie or series out there I would have Adrian Hough as James Bond
So, if Haytham really did care for Connor, why were his final words in the game "I should have killed you long ago"?
He was just acting tough, he let Connor kill him and also he saved him from the execution. It was tough love but love none the less
The knife that was thrown at the rope, I believe it was Haythem
in the book the assassins help connor to escape, however it's the knife that haytham throw that cut the rope
In the book tituled Forsaken the story of Haytham is revealed and in the part of the execution of Connor it's told that Haytham actually help the assassins to save Connor
And then he said to himself tht himself was a traitor after saving Connor and getting thomas killed
Men i love the speeches and last words of characters
I dont know why im developing so many emotions from hearing this after knowing I played this game long ago 😢
To think this came from a podcast
