You do great vids, can tell a lot of work goes into it. Well appreciated. Very informative. Clutch looks great.
Great video Dale! I am sooo jealous of that electric ratchet of yours, I refuse to do any more work until I get one!
Thanks for making these videos I changed my oil pump after watching your video on that main bearing next I guess
Use old top Gear shaft for removing & refittint clutch assembly. Loose the bolt nuts diagonally. Use drift for placing the holes properly of flywheel refitting
Thank you for your helpful videos
Dale, Just a word of caution, always test fit the pilot bearing on the end of the transmission shaft, no matter what don’t trust the part number or book information before installing. I also use a touch of thread locker on all bolts. Good content. Thanks
@dougharlow6037: True true- Words of wisdom sir-thanks for sharing.
I’ll be doing mine on the CJ this winter! Another great vid!
Cool! Hope this helps ya out
Great video. Thanks!
Excellent Job.
Great vid! really wanted to see that throw out bearing install
Throw out will be coming in a video soon.
Great video
like all your videos man you do good work
Hey! Thx Kyle
I replace my clutch. Judging from a bunch of videos on RUclips I did everything correctly. It’s a 06 TJ with a 6 speed. Now it’s rattling when the clutch is disengaged. I have read that the clutch fork could be rattling due to the retaining spring being faulty. I replaced everything in there except for the that spring, the fork and the throw out collar. The noise goes away when I engage the clutch/step on the pedal. I’ve also read this was normal but the old clutch was not noisy like this one. I might end up removing and inspecting it again. Damn
You said Mishawaka correctly on your first try haha. I actually live in the South Bend and Mishawaka area ... Just a couple miles from SB Clutch, actually
Haha! That's awesome. Thanks
If it's a Toyota miles don't matter 😂😂 had a Tacoma with 220,*** miles and still had the original clutch, and it was always climbing hills or digging in mud. Still caught early and worked like the day I got it. But now I have burnt a few out on the late 80's little S10s 😂😂 But I was also young and dumb then. Great video man !!
Thanks for all the videos. Good work. Are you changing the seats on the project 92?
I have a 89 wrangler, it’s clutch often gets completely stuck. Like locked out of every gear when on, and when it’s free it releases on the top of the petal. Like almost all the way released, could it just be out of adjustment? Or something else?
Good videos but it would be nice if you would tell us the size of the bolts and nuts.
Pressure plate bolts are 13mm
Dale, would you please elaborate a little on how you used a screwdriver to hold the flywheel? I can't prevent it from turning...
I wedged it on the stud on the back of the engine and the teeth of the flywheel. But if it's giving you trouble, just get a wrench on the front on the engine on the vibration damper. You can stop the crank from turning over by holding that Bolt.
My sign was it went from a slight noise to a god awful squeel over night
Clutch went out on my Jeep, absolutely no clutch but when I push the pedal hard enough, it rubs something and inches forward. Sounds horrible.
I have a 1995 wrangler with a ax5. Sometimes it just completely lockes me out of gear when it gets warm i didnt know if it was a clutch
Could be that the clutch isn't releasing properly.
@@JeepSolid maybe what they call the "throw out bearing" ( i am not positive, just a though )
How did the Jeep shift after you installed the south end clutch? I was told they don’t shift smooth.
Works great. No issues.
When reinstalling the flywheel and clutch, did you use the old bolts or get new ones?
Reused original bolts 👍
Is it possible to replace the clutch without removing the transmission from the jeep?
Yes. It's possible, but it would involve removing the engine instead. The clutch is pinned between the transmission and engine. Only way to get to it is remove one or the other.
What tool did you use to remove your pilot bearing?. I'm to that point and can't figure it out. Thanks!!!!
Check out my video on pilot bearing removal. Super slick trick to get it out 👍🏼
Slide hammers work magic
That always hurts. I HATE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS 😒 😑 😫!
thanks, useful video... Wouldn't it be easier to remove the front exhaust pipe to do this job ?
If it’d come off easy. But sometimes that’s a battle on its own
@@JeepSolid indeed.... !! btw, your vidoes are very appreciated....
some times they bit you.
