She is unreal to watch up close live. The timing on her shots has to be seen to be believed. Deceptively explosive power and she takes it so early. My favourite player to watch
Yeah, made sure to watch her at Roland Garros. She is so emotionless during the match, almost seems angry. Does she have to be friendly? No. But I found myself liking the players who smiled, joked around, showed positive energy more, men and women. Even with Asian fans singing songs for her and chanting, she was just completely stone faced and kind of got aggro towards ball kids. Still, game wise, probably still my fave WTA player. In person, her shots have a surprising amount of weight, and get to their spots pretty fast.
She doesn't hit a single shot early. Not one! She tries to hit it off the bounce. Her focus is timing because she doesn't have any mechanics to generate spin or pace. I think you are confused. Her admirable trait would be anticipation the next shot and deception in what she is going to do. Works on the WTA because they aren't dealing with heavy hit balls.
Let's hope she brings inspiration to the future playing style of women's tennis. Pure baseline play can be so boring. I'm sure that a mixture of craft and strength will improve viewership.
Every time I watch her play, I can't seem to comprehend how is it she hits the ball so effectively when it seems as if she is barely touching the ball - amazing to watch!! I just love how she plays, very unassuming yet brilliantly effective!!! Not to mention, she is so tiny, barely moving, but getting the job done - she is just great!!
@HenryDavidT sadly, I believe you are correct. We saw how exhausted she got in the third set against Osaka in Australia; she can't keep her playing style up for 7 matches straight, especially against multiple power players as you said.
As a 'senior' man she inspires me to never give up. I may no longer be 18 years old but my brain can still fabricate shots that exist when 'old school' serve and volley was played with wooden racquets. I salute her. Amazing tennis player!

Its almost laughable when you are the type of player who grunts/powers every shot and your opponent is so finnese, flipping pancakes and makes you run all around the court.
not that most of these players when the POWER every shot with huge grunts..the ball does not go anywhere. Just sits in the service box. Total garbage. Happy that someone like Hseih is exposing that. Lack of court penetration=lose the match
Amazing that everyone hits the ball directly to her. Seems to happen a lot in both men's and women's tennis in general...it seems that a lot of players have zero interest in dictating the points and their strategy is to just return it to the opponent hoping they will miss. Or, refusing to hit a winning shot until they are 100% certain...usually happens after they grind it out foreveeeerrrrrr. She makes the shots and her opponents return them until they can't.
@@Sraheens1 She reads the game incredibly well though. She just stands where they are going to hit. And she is incredibly difficult to read, so opponents are often too late with their reaction. Fun to see it in action.

IW Nunn she certainly plays with a mix of pusher and power but all 100% well controlled shots. Very disruptive and difficult for most top players to adjust to when 99% of top 10 players play power tennis. So just like you say 100%, very hard to get into rhythm with her play style.
Right she will knock you out of rhythm lol a sight to see lol 😆 I like her
If only she had an explosive winning serve nobody could then touch her
Not even in bed? lol
