As much as I love rain in real life and in games, I feel like it's too much rain

yea it looks very very good , the devs and artists know how to make realistic games with just basic effects without using 16gb vram like starfield , using smart art style goes a long way in delivering a good graphical experience to the users some games also like this is ride 4 , the body cam shotting game in unreal 5

@@mgiebus1869 Exactly, there is no financial system where you buy cars you simply earn them, there is no customization or aesthetics, nor improvements. It really is the most basic racing game since the arcades.
@@Alvarito205 That's because Driveclub is an old school styled racing game, not a glorified tuning/driving simulator like 90% of modern games. You are meant to just pick a car and get to racing.
Detail in general is just really good in Driveclub. 0:55 the wind goes to the east so you see the rain go to the right, the trees to the right, the grass moves to the right. It just paints a nice picture even though it's just a clip of the car sitting there.
And even though texture quality has obviously gotten better in some of the newer racing games I still look at their road and like it the most because of how they choose to make it wet in specific places instead of reflections everywhere.
Imagine a Driveclub 2 releasing today with 60 fps and ray tracing as a PS5 exclusive. We already know that game will blow every racing game out of the water.
It's incredible how high the bar was set by Driveclub so that it's still used in comparisons even nowdays.
Its almost ironic that drive club (2014) locks more like a ps5 game than gt7 (2022)
Because GT7 (and Forza) tries to be PHOTOREALISTIC, not always EYE-CANDY. It's almost the difference between a natural face and and a make-up"ed" face. Driveclub is very eye-pleasant, looks great and seems realistic but it's not. However, i agree that DC has more realistic rain effect on glass.

Yes, Driveclub is a very beautiful game. But GT7 is better as a racing game. Better than any game in this video. And ahead of any by miles. Even taking into account that GT is a simulator, and all the rest are arcade games.
They are just different games with different priorities. It is important for GT7 developers that the game runs at 60 fps and is very stable with 20 opponents online. Something has to be sacrificed. Beautiful rain is great, but it doesn't matter for a racing game. Especially for a simulator, unless it's a PC game, like ACC, where in theory there are unlimited computer power resources.
You know, in IRacing there is no rain at all. It also doesn't have pretty graphics. But this game has the best physics model of a car. Lack of rain won't make this game worse.
DriveClub has the most awesome rain effect, it's amazing how realistic it is, and it's a 2014 game! 😳he’s always been one step ahead, DriveClub is always unmatched, this game is perfection 😍

Driveclub still slays. Evolution Studios did some black magic. It never even got a PS4 Pro patch. What you see is base 2013 PS4. Dayum!
you can tell that DriveClub came this year and I would believe it. We atchived Photorealism 12 years ago.
No one has managed to create such a realistic speed effect as in the Drive Club. Yes, and the graphics are still great.

GT7's lighting is super realistic, forza 5 is a beautiful looking game, grid is fine i guess (better at rain effects than the former two), but Driveclub is clearly the master of rain effects in every aspect
driveclub is scary to this day, it hasn't been surpassed by any other game in terms of beauty and level of detail, it's a shame it was abandoned

Sadly, I don't think it is happening. Driveclub's was produced by one of the greatest studios and underrated Evolution studios which unfortunately has been shut down and I'm pretty sure the playstation store dosen't have it anymore. And it is a PS exclusive :(

Honestly I love DRIVECLUB. I dreamed of playing the soundtrack on the track and I finally achieved that. But man GT7 rocks. Can’t dethrone the king graphically.

The only game better than Driveclub would be Driveclub 2
The camera is so still in FH5 that 250 mph feels like 100. DriveClub gives a little shake and it gives a great sense of speed. GT7 is so firm on the camera as well, it doesn't feel fast.
In DC most of the time with the cockpit view he mostly stays below 100 and it feels fast. In FH and GT7 it going over 220 and it feels slow as fuck.
You'd be surprised just how fun drivelcub really is. Just hop in a car and fucking race. Last generation of consoles I swear i did the most racing out of fh2 and gt sport, even though I've logged more hours in those. Very underrated after they fixed and added a shit ton of content
GT7 is so insanely bland and boring to look at and the way the camera is so tightly fixed on the back of the car almost makes it look 2D. How in the hell is it a 2022 AAA 1st-party exclusive?

@@dausenmoore you can switch the camera to make it loose like the other car games, just not as loose as let's say drivelcubs. Some people prefer the tight camera, actually makes it easier for driving, but it's ugly.

GT7 literally has no rain, it just makes the road wet and darkens the sky a bit, but the rain effect is simply not visible in third person view at all. Terrible. FH5 effect is ok, at least you can tell it's raining, GRID Legends and Driveclub are the best ones though.

Lo que hace que drive club se vea mas, realista, es el efecto película que se logra a los 30 cuadros por segundo. El efecto que se consigue genera una imagen más agradable y más realista, dejando de lado la esencia de animación que se logra en altos cuadros por segundo.
Drive club es el mejor juego de carrera que existió, una pena que cerraron los servidores, por suerte aun conservo el juego físico y de vez en cuando me gusta jugar en mapas de lluvia pesada y autos espectaculares

Do you know that draw in thing you get in some racing games where you can see the graphics being drawn in the distance? I actually saw that in real life once. I couldn't believe my eyes.
Both Grid, FH5, DriveClub all look more exciting, visually.
DC: Better water effects on glass (camera).
FH5: More realistic rain on its scenary.
GL: Beautiful rain but it is unrreal, looks like a intagram filters on videogame.

Why is Polyphony Digital having such a tough time getting rain effects and rainy environments to look right even on PS5 hardware? It looks bloody awful.
Also, hearing rain hitting your car's exterior shouldn't sound that loud whenever you're sitting inside your car with the door windows rolled right up. Drive Club is a last gen game with no PS4Pro support and even it managed to get that right. LOL
Because it is the way it should look like. Go watch nurburgring on rain. Ör whatever track it doesn't matter. Rain on racetracks dont look like mirrors. Just understand this bro.

Driveclub still wins here. Best simulated rain in a racing game for nearly a decade now on older hardware. Black Magic.
Grid Legends looks great too, but the in car windshield looks overly blurry (actually has some Driveclub devs).
Forza Horizon 5 looks looks good out of car, but in car it is only slightly better than GT7.
Gran Turismo 7 just looks sad in this aspect. So boring and bland.
A ten year old game holding its ground against modern racers... and somehow looks like it came out recently.

Still nothing can match Drive Club 😂 I got this game free with my PS4 and I was not happy since I don't care much about realistic racing games, but I lost my shit when I saw the graphics of drive club, and the shocking this is, Device club still beat all racing games after almost 10 years of its released ❤
The only game where the rain effect can compare to DriveClub is ACC with mods. But even there it looks worse, although very good.
Why does GT7 chase view look like a car sticker on the road?? Something's unnatural and cartoony about it. Is it bad lighting/reflections?

Part of the problem is how the camera is so fixed on the back. In other racing games when you turn the camera/car move so you can see the sides of the car making it look more 3D and more fun to play.

Gran Turismo 7 is the most accurated to real life in terms of the reflection of water over the circuit, but because this it looks boring, the others specially driveclub and grid looks fantastic with all the exageration
So in real like rain drops look like dots that just disappear in to thin air not like drive club where it acc wets the window and drips down also the way they car moves the water dropps move accordingly

gt7 looks amazing in every way aside from the rain, you can’t even see it in heavy downpour unless you’re in the cockpit. drive club destroys gt7 in this department.
The road reflections and smoke do look really good in GT7 though. But yeah, the rain itself is so laughably bad, there are games from 10+ years earlier that did rain better lol.
After playing soo many racing games across different platforms my verdict is this... Best racing game ever on a FLAT screen without a doubt is DRIVECLUB. However, GT7 on VR2 is on an entire different realm that no other racers can even fathom to compare. GT7 in VR2 is hands down the most immersive and exciting way to play racing games. The realism and attention to details is soo hard to believe and needs to be experienced through the lens of the helmet
And also the easiest way to end up with motion sickness. VR is not for most of us. First hand experience. 😢
but in the real driveclub i hear the audi R8 sounds in the cockpit view

GT7 has the best looking car models and lighting. Forza overall good also open world and DC has really good attention to some details.

DriveClub underated racing game with best visuals. GT7 2022 game looks so artificial compared. I'm not a big fan of racing games as I'm not for soccer too but I reconize a very well made game regardless my taste.
Gran turismo 7 es el peor de todos pero con resultados similares al Forza Horizon 5, sin embargo, éste último se ve mejor porque tiene un poco más de agua presente en el parabrisas, luego tenemos a Grid legends que se ve muy bien y casi a la par de driveclub, pero lo sorprendente de éste, no es sólo la lluvia, sí no también el aspecto de los entornos, que es increíble que a pesar de tanto tiempo, se vea así de bien comparado con otros juegos mucho más nuevos...
GT7 - Realistic rain and handling. All others - Artistic arcade games.
GT7 - puddles form over time, track dries over time. Handling is tricky just how it should be.
In the other games it's just visual effect and you can slow down far too easily.
when it comes to puddles does it really matter tho

Where are the rain drops in chasecam in GT7? The rain graphics looks poor in GT7.
FH5 still trying to reach the level of graphic from Drive Club how the dops correctly slide during the cockpit view but all they got after all the years is a SHAME 😂😂👎
