- This is the only video on youtube of removing/installing a GRILL on Mercedes-Benz GLK so hopefully you find it helpful.
Duration: 1 hour or so depending on skill level
Tools:
10 mm bit
Battery powered ratchet or socket set
Plastic pry tools
Flat Blade screwdriver

Awesome video. Followed directions and it went great. Had to slightly modify the replacement section on top (far side tabs did not fit in slot on new grill, just trimmed the tabs off and slid right in. Held snug with other two tabs. No loss of integrity). Thanks for sharing.

I tried following your video. It helped but the old grille came off with a lot of broken bits. That's ok I need to replace it, that's why I'm remove it in the first place. The old plastic is brittle after 13 years. Now I need the round star emblem so it can be installed in the new grill. Sure doesn't come off easy.
Yes, the emblem is tricky for sure. Are you going to get a used one from a donor car perhaps?

That bottom tab is a nightmare. You pull up on it or push down? Feels like I’m breaking the damn thing
You pull outwards. Try to do it in a snappy motion. If you go slow, I think the bumper will tear.

You have to carefully release each tab from the inside of the grill once you have it off. It’s tedious for sure

Man I just need to replace the top left chrome trim on my grill. Somehow it fell off and I’ve been looking online for a week off and on for the damn piece of the grill I’m missing. I don’t need the whole thing or to mess with changing the grill I just need that chrome trim cover for the top left “bar” on the grill
Yeah. I didn’t find any chrome piece online either so I replaced the whole thing. It’s cheap to replace the whole thing with aftermarket. It’s $100 or so
I need a video of swapping the emblem cause I can't for the life of me figure how it goes together or comes apart 😂

How did you remove the emblem?????
There are tabs inside one you get the grill off. You’ll need sharp pry tools and a flat blade screw driver.
Does anyone know how to fix a Mercedes logo that sticks up from the grill when the emblem has broken off? I found an old (1970s?) grill at an antique store and the emblem broke off and I don’t know how to fix it! Is glue the only option?
Probably from the opposite side of the hood but I don’t know on hand. Can someone else answer?

You have to get a flat blade screw driver in there pretty much and pry it off from the tabs.

I got mine on eBay. I don’t have a specific link for it but it’s pretty easy to find.

OK no offense, but this seems like it was a little hard, but I also am not a mechanic. I didn’t have to pull all the stuff off of my mind. Literally just came right off I didn’t even have to lift the hood.🤷♀️ yes, the emoji says it all
