Yeah Jon is named after Jon Arryn, Robb is named after king Robert, Bran is named after Ned's older brother Brandon who got killed by the mad king, and Rickon is named after Ned's father, Rickard Stark who met the same fate. Ned basically named all his sons after his closest friends

That last sword plunge from Bronn, downwards in through the guy's shoulder -- that actually WAS honorable. At one time, after battles, irl, the victors would go through the battlefield and 'mercy kiII' anyone left who was alive, but wasn't gonna make it. It's immediate death. No suffering.

Its important to point out the Ned is not in denial. He has two reason behind his logic. 1 the dothroki basically fear salt water because the horses cant drink it and thats all that matter to them. They have never crossed the sea and there is no reason to believe they ever would. And more importantly 2.....killing a 13 year old because you hated her brother is bad

Ned was also deeply traumatized by seeing the Targaryen children after they were viciously butchered by the Mountain and laid at the foot of the throne wrapped in a Lannister cloak as Tywin's offering to Robert. That's why Ned left King's Landing after the rebellion -- he thought it was an atrocity to slaughter children that way, and Robert was fine with it. They fought, and he went back to Winterfell. Idk why Robert believed Ned would act differently when asked to arrange the murder of another child. Actually, I don't think Robert really cared much about the realm. If he couldn't fight, then he wanted things to be taken care of for him so he could eat and drink and fuck his way to an early grave, just as he told Ned. He wasn't joking. Anyway, that event was also one of Ned's motivations for sentencing the Mountain to death after he hears what's going down in the Riverlands.

    Random thoughts:
    - Bastardry is a big deal because these are rich noble families, and bastards don't inherit. If you're a peasant farming the land for one of these lords, you're mostly just trying to survive and probably don't give a shit about such things.
    - Cersei and Jaime are both narcissists, so you could say they're attracted to each other because it's like looking in a mirror.
    - Bronn vs. Ser Vardis is such an awesome fight and really summarizes the show. A knight in shining armor fights honorably on behalf of his lady, and gets absolutely destroyed by a cutthroat who fights dirty and throws him down a hole. That's Game of Thrones, baby.

When it comes to the Vardis fight, it loses a bit of context in the show. Book Vardis was an old man, who probably shouldnt be fighting. The assumption in the book is that Lysa probably wanted Tyrion to win in the books that way she wont get dragged into a war with the lannisters.

This was my favorite GoT reaction of all I've seen from anyone! The “talk“ you had before the episode was awesome. It shows us that after the episodes are over you're still there, in the show, still dissecting things people have said, putting bits and pieces together. And that only happens if you're genuinely into it. We've all seen people faking it. Just trying to get views but no real passion for the show at all. Most of us don't stick around for those people. You have keen insight about GoT and as one of your viewers it's a pleasure to watch those mental wheels turning. This is gonna be such a fantastic journey with you!

Something about him disowned by his house, banished from his country, on the other side of the world, yet still repping his house words gets me man. god i’m so pleased you’re picking up on historical nuances!! comparing Littlefinger and Varys’ relationship to the Cold War is a really interesting observation that I hadn’t considered before. George RR Martin (the guy who wrote the books this show is based on) has based a lot of his work on medieval history such as the War of the Roses, precisely because history tends to repeat itself in specific patterns. You comparing this to the cold war when it’s already based on other historical events really extends that connection to me. great analysis!

Important note about Ned’s ruling on the throne: there is no court, and he acts with the authority of the king. He denounces and attaints Gregor Clegane, and that’s it. There is no appeals court. And if Gregor attacks Beric then he is attacking the king’s justice, an attack against the authority of the king. Calling Tywin to King’s Landing is also done with the authority of the king and if he refuses he is an enemy of the crown, if he does comply then he can’t take part in the attack on the riverlands. This is all very smart by Ned, but he is only undercut by what happens to Robert
Edit: also, the lannisters are attacking the riverlands, an attack on the king”s peace, and that justifies his actions here.

Lol... I just love hearing your "brainstorming" 😂😅
Those thoughts are EXACTLY what we all were discussing at RUclips, between the seasons. 😘
I love how much you (and us all), can pick up, when we're "rewatching" this amazing show.
That's why this show, (as well as the books) will always "entertain us". 😊
    Btw...
GEORGE RR MARTIN, makes sure that he "hides hints and clues" in his books.
    😘
    Ps.... STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF!
    I love hearing your thoughts...
    Keep it coming.
    😜

Back in the days, when we had to wait a year for the next season, theories was all we had. And you, M'Lord, are bright enough to develop the one or other theory that is actually right.

So funny to see new reactors "Oh look! It's Aquaman" and when we saw Aquaman it was like "Oh look, It's Khal Drogo!". Subbed. Cheers from Brasil.

I'm only on the intro and I love the babbling, hilarious haha. First of all, my personal advice would be to just be YOU. Joke when you want, pause as much as you want because when you're chill and enjoying, then we will enjoy with you. The only "thinking" you should be doing as a reactor is saying what you think out loud. I know fans can get crazy about details and you can feel the pressure from that, but honestly, seeing reactors relax and enjoy is the best thing about reactions. I had one reactor forget all the names and he kept calling Tyrion, Tyrone and he was one of my favs. You're doing great and I know I'm not the only one anticipating these GoT reactions every week. I can't wait to hear what you think of this ep and the big revelation! :)

Btw - the peasent in front of Ned could very well not know - he calls Ned "your grace" something he knows you say to a king (instead of "my lord") - remember, the peasant has never seen the king before, no pictures, no radio
it's still petty of Pycelle to correct him so bluntly tho, especially since it's pretty clear Ned himself isn't at all concerned w the poor peasant's lack of knowledge
also, ha - "he knew that english" at Drogo, not many pick up on that -and I love that about the character, dude sits there and just knows the language, he just is super sparing about when he bothers to use it

I'm 5:24 into your video, and just have to pause to write this. I enjoy so much how you do things, and how your explain to us about your process, rewatching, notes, etc... It shows just how much you care that and you actually understand that this is a show worth rewatching and really paying attention, which is, as you said, not compatible with reacting to it. Man, you're amazing.
