This is an excellent tutorial. As a complete and utter newbie of the roll20 system you have made the process much easier to get into.

Scott! Welcome to RUclips, I'm glad you decided to accept Mathas invitation and do the show with him, I'm sure a lot of us got to know a great guy that otherwise we wouldnt have known. I hope you are having fun with all these new twitch and youtube paths that have opened because of the show. It's great to see you doing these kind of stuff by yourself, and also joining other well known guys (like the other campaign in wich you are a player).
I only ask you to not give up if you dont see the numbers racking up, the online d&d community is probably not really big (I'm not really sure, I just started watching and knowing about d&d thanks to you and Mathas), and also the guys you play with online, already have big communities themselves, they have been grinding it for years (you may know firsthand from Mathas), so just dont feel discouraged and keep doing the great work you do!

Rocking video!! Had to transition my my MeetUp RPG group (playing Fantasy AGE game set in the Lovecraftian pirate town of Freeport) to Roll20, and this was a perfect introduction for newbies. Thanks!

    Thank you, Daelric!
I just sent this link to a friend who was looking for a bunch of D&D books cause they were lost in a move. Will be sure to try and delve through the rest of the vids (as well as the site) as soon as I have time.

A most excellent presentation for the new Roll20 player/DM. I'm enjoying your series on Roll20 and will eventually check out your other channel content offerings as well. I'll look for the group you've mentioned in the video so that I can see your live stream or even recorded sessions. Roll4It. I appreciate the effort you've given in making this video.

I really enjoyed this tutorial, since I don't like to read through thousands of text pages. As a question tho, would you say that learning roll20 is worth it, if you never played D&D and you want to try it out with a few friends, or is there an easier way?
Ps: your awesome and i watch all the shows you DM cause of the awesome way you do it!
    Pps: greetings from germany

That depends. Are you playing with people all sitting around a table? Or are you meeting others online?
Also, do you have the resources the play the game (dice, books, battlemat, minis, etc) or would you like to save money with the virtual format?
I can tell you that I'll ALWAYS prefer an in-person game. However, roll20 bridges many gaps that are all to common.
      Thanks!!

none of us has any dice, books or anything, we're just a bunch of nerds that kinda want to play it, but we don't want to spend like a hundred bucks just to get started

I, personally, went down to my local game store and asked if I could place a flyer for an experienced DM to help myself and a group of friends.
What I got was four guys invite us to groups on different days, where they brought books, dice, and maps for us. For the low cost of providing some refreshments. We met at the game store where we were taught the basics and soon were given a few Mock campaigns, and coached a bit.
I am sure Roll20 can help with that, but having people there to help you along the way, while frustrating at times, is great and cheap.

So can you make custom cards in roll20? Because the newest version of Paranoia uses cards for a lot of stuff, and I couldn’t find anything for Paranoia in the marketplace.

how do I create a grid model, that I can modify? I am trying to set up a sci-fi campaign, and I want to build a few ship designs. I need to be able to draw, and delete individual lines, but move the entire ship as a group.
