Bought a 2013 black convertible ZL1 in November. Powder coated the aluminum wheels black, and it only had 23k miles on it. It was the best decision I have EVER made... Looked up how to remove the fuse for the exhaust flap and she ROWDY. Maybe in a few years I'll tune her up but she's plenty enough car for me.
It’s insane how the new camaros stock are around the same speed as this even without a supercharger and wayyy less power. A stock ss has 455hp and goes 0-60 in 4.1 seconds. This has 580 hp and goes 0-60 in 4 seconds flat. Still super fast but a new camaro with a supercharger and a new zl1 with 580 plus hp can go 0-60 in under 3.5 seconds.
Im a major dodge guy. But i saw a 2013 zl1 convertible and yes. I bought it. And i love it. Im gonna slap on a new exhaust system, heads, cam, ect. LOVE the crackle it makes tho
This car was one of the first to have staggered wheels, carbon fiber pieces, active exhaust, suede steering wheel and magnetic ride control. IMO it started the car wars.

Would you personally recommend getting this car over a 2019 1LE? While the 1LE has much better handling, technology, and track performance, I feel that this car is immense bang for buck value.
Now that the Camaros are getting discontinued can you do an in depth review of the 5th gen zl1? A lot of the ones are from the the car first time came out it’d be cool to see a revisited in depth review now that the 6th gen had its full run as well.
That 6th gen ZL1 is a great car out of the box, but I believe the 5th gen ZL1 LSA motor takes to mods better and has to so as to keep up with the newer generation. I think it looks better too. The LT1 though is a good setup for a tighter budget and with turbos would be a beast.
It depends on what you are wanting out of a vehicle? I sold my 08 z06 and bought a 2013 ZL1 inferno orange. I wanted better tech and the old retro look from the 60's. The comfort is second to none. I am putting long tube headers with axle cat back as well, and changing the pulleys on the supercharger and then I am going to go make a lot of noise! Best of luck! Peace

As long as you are taking care of it and doing the required service intervals than you should be fine. Technically based off of the average driver doing 12,000 miles a year you should have about 60,000 miles on her. Just take care of her and she will take car of you.
Is it enough? No. My buddies 2013 ran a 12.8 while his 6 gen ran 11.2 stock for stock. Also, the dodge got faster, the mustang got faster and the vett. It's a nice car but like most cars, they improved the latet modle. I also own a 2019 zl1. I would definitely drive a 2013 just for the nice look. It also has a more muscle look that my 19. My 19 has that sporty look imo.
Trippin . B4 the 2014-15 Camaros look like a Vette clone from the back . I’m all in with the 14-15 waited for those years . Looks more like a Camaro with those taillights . I’m a fan of that style , like the 67-69 Camaro , the 1996 impala ss, the 1966 impala ss all day , looks more like a man’s car and more of a muscle car tone to it 100%

Those are actually not zl1 wheels. Those are 1le specific wheels. Zl1 wheels are alloy and have zl1 engraved.

no, bought a 2012 new, those are the stock wheels milled down for weight saving , they are wider than the 1 LE wheels, you just got the cheaper ones

Alcantara is the material name, it’s an exclusive product made by that company, it’s essentially fake suede made out of special polymers ie plastic.

Yes that’s what separates it from the SS. The SS has the same engine, but not the supercharger
