This model is FANTASTIC!! Man, does it look cool! I find it so cute to get a glimpse of your other drone which you have video recording and circling you. I know I'm anthropomorphising it, but it's almost like it's your companion keeping you company. It's cute when you talk to it when you increase its distance from you. I'm being silly, I know, but I like it. Thank you for all of your work in making these videos. Once again,, this plane is wonderful!
such a cool rc plane drone thing i wish they made smaller versions that could be flown indoors and out and is bellow 250g. closest thing is probably to scratch build a mini version out of foam
Well done Captain (and what a great looking Aircraft!) reminded me a lot of the Parrot "Swing" Drone; same flight modes however the Parrot (from experience) was a little difficult to control !!
Yes, many pilots at my field have the older versions. This one is modern and very accurate in all flight modes so if you love the older versions you’ll love the new version even more.
My x450 flies like crap, in drone mode sometimes it’ll just fly on an angle sideways randomly and other times it’ll be level, sometimes it won’t let me lower the throttle low enough to bring it down and in plane mode it just crashes Wonder if I could grab a controller and recover board from the W500 and use it
That's a shame. Mine is great in drone mode and in aircraft mode I've only tried it once and due to my inexperience I crashed it. We have another X450 at the flying club and that flies well in the two modes though. @@lewiswhitfield4362
I learned to fly R/C planes at the age of 6 (55 years ago) and stopped flying in my 30’s. I started flying drones about ten years ago and haven’t looked back. But THIS is the first time I’ve wanted a plane type R/C since I got back in the hobby. Pretty cool. The only issue is that I learned to fly in Mode One so I’m hoping this can convert from Mode Two to Mode One.
Pressing "Mode" button while turning on transmitter swaps to the other mode (2/1 - watch where you put your fingers when turning on the Tx!) Selected Mode is retained through power off and is shown on display. Screwdriver through holes under rubber bungs in the back to adjust springs on stick centring and drag plates.

Hi Steve great plane. I have one myself. Only mine is much bigger and from Horizon Hobby E-flite Convergence VTOL BNF Basic, 650mm. it has three positions. Maybe you know this one too. This little one is great too. Handy for extra plane. You can take this with you in a backpack. Steve happy flying. And wish you lots of fun. 😃👍✈️🕹🛩📷
Hi Richard. A few of us have the eFlite Convergence and we all agree that this new mini version is what the convergence should have Been as it is extremely responsive & accurate. I guess time will tell if this W500 holds up long term.

Nope, no fully manual operation but hitting the Big Red Button in Airplane Mode will give you the equivalent to AS3X - the gyro will only try to correct for wind disturbance.

This is a reiteration of the JJRC M02 - same plane shell, same drive units, similar Tx shell with a few modifications, maybe some modifications to the flight board? Anybody who gets 1 care to post whether it uses the same protocol as the JJRC M02? I'm not even sure if it was ever definitively tested if the old JJRC M02 protocol was the same as the protocol for our XK X450s which is available on the Multi Radios. 🤔 All these swivel-motor units suffer from the same vulnerabilities - brittle props and the swivel mechanisms that take even a minor bump like a raw egg! Even NASA-grade components are no protection as witness 3 dead Marines in the Northern Territory. 😱 They are all fun to fly but tend to stall easily in turns because of the high wing loading - buy plenty of spares (props, front servos and swivel plastic parts) or be prepared for lots of down time! 😉

As far as I understand, it works for most drones. Can you recommend a good site to buy a drone and JumperRC T20S on. like u Videos.
It's over 250g at just over 300. In the US that would require buying and adding a seperate remote ID device per overzealous government. Asinine. Who wants this in the US?
The good news is that most folks in the USA will not bother with the government regulations when flying small items that do not resemble a typical DJI drone.
Hi! great video! I just purchased one of these and I watched your video carefully. The directions are really bad! I cant get my motors to power up. I did the throttle up and down and it links up and you can flip the switch and it changes modes but I can never get the propellers to spin up? If I hold that lock button down it takes off at full speed for a moment before powering back down. Any ideas? Thanks for a fantastic video!
Are you sure you bought the same one using my link? There are plenty of these on the market made by different companies with different names and look like this one I’m using in the video, but they are not the same and are really bad.
@CAPTAINDRONE798 Yeah I didnt use your link but it is the exact same name on the plane and the radio is exactly the same as yours. I Just noticed that when I flip it in airplane mode the motors rotate down to horizontal but it still doesnt run the motors. The elevons operate when you toggle the ailerons but the elevator doesnt work when you toggle the elevator. I am an airplane guy this is a relatively new foray for me but I do understand how it should work.
When I said the directions were really bad I meant the paper copy that came with the plane. Your video was crystal clear and excellent! sorry for the confusion!
@@toddwatkins3211if you did as I showed (pull both joysticks down and out to each lower side… which is how you start any drone on the planet, then lift up the left joystick, all should work). If not, your unit is defective.

I have been watching your videos about drone and I am wondering if you could donate your old drones you are not using anymore so that another kid in my country in Philippines will be happy. Hello. Please note that everyday I receive several requests from viewers for free drones. This has been going on for over 7 years now (I believe every RC RUclipsr receives such requests).
BE AWARE that all these vtols have one major fatal flaw of every once in a while one or both motors pointing down causing a crash when switching between QUADCOPTER and plane mode. I destroyed mine in less than 10 minutes even though I have more than 7 years experience flying planes, quadcopters and helicopters.

Yes, usually it connects to Futuba FHSS receivers, but don’t take my word for it as I have not tried that so can’t 100% confirm.

This is an old XK model, several years old in fact 200 is to much for this. It does look like they made a few mods to it though.
Oh wait until you fly it… everything is new and modern day responsive (big difference from the old models)

It's not a good habit to hang or handle batteries by the wires. Otherwise great review.
