      Yes... in 2023, 5 mins should be the minimum for all tiny FPV Quads.

    • @MeBoazz
      @MeBoazz Год назад +2

      normal flight time for these are 2 to 3 minutes. 4:30 is insane.

    • @gregm9638
      @gregm9638 Год назад

      @MeBoazz I think I'm just too new? I'm slowly coming to understand that these quads are for ripping, flipping, and crashing lol. For me if I drop like 2 bills I'm gonna be super bummed if I crash it or I'm gonna get like 4 minutes which I do now understand is kinda the standard.

I’ve been out of the game for a while … actually my gf gave me the goggles integra last Christmas and they have been collecting dust on a shelf… too busy unfortunately and I live in Beijing where it is difficult to fly because is basically banned in the city… so I only have done it indoors or at private fields… anyway… was waiting for gepRC to release a small one with the 03 and this is it… Ive just ordered it but tbh I’m a little concerned with what some pilots comment about this drone not having any vibration dampening … what about jello in the video? I hope it’s ok… I would hate to have to send it back 🙈 thanks again for the review!

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798

      As seen in my video samples… no jello. Jello on FPV drones is always caused by the props. If a prop is slightly bent or chipped, you may get Jello, so now you know what the fix is.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hello. In this video I was flying with the ELRS RADIOMASTER POCKET. The signal in this video that became weak is TELEMETRY which is not the connection between radio/drone that controls flying. Lost TELEMETRY is always do to the antenna on the drone not being able to communicate with the Radio due to interference, such as the human body filled with water blocking the signal.

    Hey there Steve! Have a quick question for you. I purchased this drone and absolutely love it. I am noticing other drones this size like the Pavo Pico that has a flight controller with 20 amp ESC so it will handle 3S batteries. What's your opinion on making that type of modification to the dark star? Would you just have to change the AIO or would I also have to change the motors? I'm just curious what your opinion is on this. This is my first 2S drone so I notice a huge difference in power and flight time. But of course there are many trade-offs. After the baby hawk '03 this is my second favorite drone at the moment. It's so amazing that we can get this type of video quality and such a small form factor. Did you ever think it would get to this point? Happy flying from Sunny Clearwater Florida

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  10 месяцев назад +1

      The reason so many manufacturers are creating 2S drones is due to new motor and ESC technology that uses less power. So less battery weight, small drone, plenty of power, is a hit!

      FPV drones with the DJI O3 camera system now come in all sizes and shapes and they are all good. If you are a newbie to FPV then you have a massive uphill learning curve, so perhaps start off with a small Ready To Fly Kit. Or if you are only used to DJI, then the DJI AVATA is a good starting place as it has a Beginner mode that lets it fly like a DJI MAVIC which is perfect for beginners. And then when you wish you can try MANUAL mode and CRASH multiple times until you get the hang of flying FPV. But the great thing is that the FPV Goggles can then be used with all the DJI O3 FPV drones.

    - Do all 2S Lipos have the same cross-section to nicely fit in the battery holder? (1.59 11.27)
    - Can the ducts be easily removed?
    - What is the max speed with & without the ducts?

    Great little quad by Geprc for stunning videos! Between PNP and elrs version which one do you recommend for better signal penetration? I understand PNP can be used only with DJI remote 2 while ELRS can be combined with an extended range of controllers🤔.

      I'd go ELRS, that way there is some redundancy. I'm pretty sure if you loose video signal you also loose your RC link if you go for the PNP. ELRS has more range and penetration than my goggles 2.

The Cinelog 20 is all of the above, but takes crashes better, and has vibration dampening and has the potential for an external camera. The 25 is just more of this (bigger) running on a 4S battery.

    Does telemetry have less range than the actual signal?

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  Год назад +1

      You have two signals… one to the RECEIVER that controls the flight and one to the VIDEO. If you use a DJI REMOTE 2 and DJI FPV GOGGLES the two signals are squashed into one and it is up to the pilot to notice in the goggles that the signal is dropping. But if you use an ELRS or CROSSFIRE receiver with a non DJI REMOTE, then you have two separate signals and will receiver a warning when the telemetry signal (controlling the drone) drops in strength. Telemetry is normally always a longer range then video.

    • @leomatis_
      @leomatis_ Год назад

      @@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks for taking the time to reply captain! What I meant actually was if the rx trasmits 2 signals (telemetry and radio)? since you were getting the 'telemetry lost' warning quite often however you were still had radio signal, does that mean that the telemetry signal of your elrs is actually weaker than the actual radio signal? Since you weren't failsafe everytime you had telemetry lost so the radio signal was still fine (but maybe was getting weaker)? Hope that makes sense

      @CAPTAINDRONE798  Год назад +1

      @@leomatis_Telemetry is what you call the “radio” signal. As mentioned in my previous response it is just a warning to the pilot that if you keep doing what you’re doing (blocking the signal) then you may end up with a complete disconnect. This is all set up in your radio and I have mine set for an Early Warning.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  Год назад

      I have mine set to a sensitive level, in other words the telemetry (signal from the receiver to my radio) only needs to drop on a quick outage. Just in case you are still confused… let me put it this way… your radio speaks to the RECEIVER in your drone to control it. The RECEIVER speaks to your Radio. When you get Telemetry Lost is means your Radio in your hands is picking up a weak signal from the RECEIVER in the drone. However the RECEIVER in the drone is still receiving the commands from your radio. This is why no one panics when they hear Telemetry Lost but rather just corrects the situation by unblocking the signal.

      I always begin to consider landing when I see 3.4 that remains constantly. Batteries are not harmed, even if landing at 3.2, but I’d never go lower than that as most FPV drones fall out of the sky at 3.2. For newbies, they don’t have a hundred batteries so they should certainly land way earlier.

I have had issues with some drones where I could not update the firmware on a receiver, in such cases, I then downgraded the ELRS firmware on my transmitter to match. Also, one thing to note is that if your transmitter is using ELRS 3.x. (“X” being whatever version), you don’t have to match the receiver to the exact ELRS version. ELRS is designed so that if the receiver is on firmware 3.1 and the transmitter is on version 3.4, they will still bind & talk together, so that means if you are trying to upgrade to something like 3.4, try 3.3 or 3.2 or 3.1 etc, instead.
