To fix the tilting rotor problem, just replace the motor and servo control arms with one that has a symmetrical arm extending on the opposite side. Then connect the opposite arms together with steel wire. This forms a push pull system that will prevent the motor from flipping the opposite way.
wow you hit a home run here, knocked it out of the park, excellent flight demo, i am suprised the elevons and servo linkages can instantly snap atitude reversals without tearing itself apart, your experiance makes it look so easy
Great video. Here's an idea to prevent the horn from getting bumped into the undesirable position: insert a toothpick or nail (if possible) into the foam right behind the horn, and have it stick out far enough so that the horn cannot be bumped past it. Another idea is to wrap some string around that area of the nacelle to add some girth and impede the horn from being able to get to the undesirable position.
A thought Ali. Why don't they just install the arms facing upwards? There is enough clearance on the props and that would allow them to mount a stopper in the plastic of the motor mounting arm to prevent the damn thing flipping through center? The flexible props used on the XK X520 (pretty near the same motors) are very durable even if the battery is upped from 2s to 3s! The stiffer blades on these are no doubt a smidge more efficient but not much use if they break every time they brush the grass! 👿
I have one of those from 4 years ago, with brushless motors, i dont even remember the brand. I flew GREAT 4 years ago, never a problem. All this is a rebranding, you know damn well one factory makes an rebrands for anyone, thats all this is!
Is there a way you could put something by the servo horn to keep the motor from going down 🤔maybe put a screw or something? I have been wanting a vtol for awhile but I didn't like how there were a few different versions of this and there were bad reviews on them I was pleased to see a newer version but still has that motor issue 😢✌🏽
some said just glue a toothpick or hot insert a screw to where the rod bends and the motors goes other way, it will prevent it. i have not tried it yet.
Do, any one know about charging the battery, are the red light and yellow light has to be on, after the charge it's complete??, can any one know about this
Ali, Thanks so much for this. I am very interested in getting one of these, based upon your review, and I agree with all your points, with one exception. First, the inability to bind with my RadioMaster TX16S is a deal breaker for me. The LAST thing I want is another radio, so a BNF option would be great, allowing me to bind with my TX16S. Secondly, there's no doubt that better quality props would be attractive. Lastly, I totally understand the issue with the servo linkage going over-center, and I thought about fabricating a stop, but as you know, it all comes down to what is the weakest link? In other words, if we build a stop, when the motor tries to go too far will the stop cause the motor to get damaged (bent shaft) because its movement is now limited? So, if that's the case, flipping the linkage back to where it belongs is a small price to pay for more crash durability, so to speak. I may be off base, but it's just a thought. Either way, I'll be watching for your findings moving forward before I decide whether or not I will indulge in one of these. Thanks Again!
Looks very similar to the XK X450. Have you had success binding it to a multiprotocol module? An alternative could be a PPM, SBUS or DSMX receiver connected to the "5V satellite receiver socket" (XK X450 manual) on the flight controller. It worked for me with a Crossfire receiver (and FPV cam and range for miles), but the OpenTX setup wasn't easy iirc. I have the pinout somewhere if you're interested.
The "5V satellite receiver socket"" shown in the manual for the XK X450 is not a standard S-bus satellite socket (3-pins.) It is a 4-pin UART which is marked as for use as a GPS connector. I presume (but have never tested) that the other 4-pin socket is for a 4-pin camera input. Reconfiguring that GPS UART as an external receiver input would be beyond the capabilities of the average punter.
This plane is very fast and cool. 3D is not for the beginner. Even 6G is risky due to the speed and potential actuating arm damage, but if you get it up high, 6G is fun. Great skill flying so low. I won’t be doing that. Price is good compared to other vtol aircraft.

That, I really hate: "You must _only_ use _our_ controllers with _our_ aircraft. You are not allowed to use it with anything else other than our own." Nice to see the closed/proprietary ecosystem starting to creep into the RC hobby by way of aircraft such as this. It has the potential to be amazing, yet the manufacturer here has shot themselves in the foot by saying "You must _only_ use it with _our_ controller & nothing else." That's the thin end of a very large wedge, where the manufacturer eventually retains full ownership of the product that you bought & paid for with your own money. Where you do not own the product, you are simply paying for the privilege of using the product. What I reckon would be a proverbial middle finger to the manufacturer would be to get a legacy protocol receiver, & bind it to one of your RadioMaster controllers & fly it with that. Or, better yet, put ExpressLRS on it, bind that to your RadioMaster & go fly.
do not worry, as i said, when I am back home after Thailand trip, I will sure experiment and set it up with Radiomaster EdgeTx. just like, ESKY said, sorry you can't use other radios, but i just made a video (going to upload make public soon) how to setup your 150EC ESKY helicopter with Edgetx radiomaster in a minute and fly it happily. I am sure ESKY will hate me for that LOL but hey, i am with my followers and end users :) you know that right. have fun buddy
Nice tips, yes I been looking at these this week ,current vtoll is the XK520,also looking at the XK450 but none currently for sale in NZ so pretty popular so on a waiting list at the moment, lot of fun the XK520 but needs big areas to fly unlike these more user friendly models. Thanks enjoyed the clip as usual 🛫🛬🚀🛩🚤🚁
I'll bet that you get a better flyin' to fixin' ratio with the X520 than any of these tri-mode tri-motor units! We have crashed the X520 royally and ours are still flying. They are fun to fly but our XK X450s require a new set of propellers and front motor rotating gear pretty-well every week that they see the air! 😱🙄
@@alishanmao ah yes lots of links but the problem comes at checkout lol,Our dollar convertion is low and costs me double and some or I'd buy everything, trying to be patient waiting ,but I need more, love the stuff

Stick a pin 📍 in the side of the airplane to prevent the motors from pointing down.
