New Strut & Spring Assembly from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASTS01697
This video shows you how to install new front strut & spring assemblies from TRQ on your 2011-2018 Volvo S60. TRQ Struts are made to fit your vehicle exactly, just like the original part. I read about a tool that will spread the knuckle ear and hold it open to remove strut easier. CTA 4005

You will destroy the front link if you using your method. Hold the center and remove the nut with the 15mm wrench....Dont turn the center piece....

Hi there, nice to see how you did it. Question?
Did you compress the spring while taking it out ?
    Thanks

Super helpful video. I'm about to attempt this myself. It is good to see that it is possible to remove the strut without removing the knuckle. I am going to attempt this without an air hammer but otherwise will follow your procedure. I'm hoping this will work for me so I don't have to separate the ball joint. Also, when removing the axle bolt, do I need to tap the axle bolt to push the axle in? I've seen that in other videos. Or is it ok just to remove the bolt and leave the axle in its current position? I don't want to have to get in there and reassemble that. Thanks for this great video.

Found it easier just to remove the spindle assembly, then separate the strut.

Just did my 2012 s60 T5 struts ! Unbelievable !!!! What a nitemare! New ones would not play nice with that mount and ended up taking off spindle and had to use air hammer with chisel bit to widen mount

This construction is not maintenance friendly at all. If the car is rusty it is easier to release the lower ball joint and take axle and strut away together. Shock absorber bearing is poorly protected from dirt and spring plate rubber is worth checking out when working with this. I wouldn't use anything other than the original dampers. They can last over 300k km.

These do not fit into r design spindles by the way. The base of the strut is too big
