@@kflynt2006 Nah. He's Italian, but he moved to London in 1969 so his dialect is heavily influenced by cockney inflections. For another reference to a heavily blended dialect, here's an Irish woman who moved to Texas a long time ago: www.dialectsarchive.com/ireland-4

I love your videos! I grew up in a large Italian family, and would cook these with my grandmother and great-grandmother every Sunday. This is exactly how she made them, too. Thank you for posting. :)

In 1974 I was living & working in Lens France, but spent many vacations days in and around Sorrento, gnocchi was excellent. Now I am retired and I am looking forward to make my first home made gnocchi, Thanks for the inspiration and easy to understand instructions.

I make the beef ragu once a month, ever since he and Carluccio made it on the Amalfi coast in their tv show.

Tobby ,you remind me so much of my cousin Leo .Hubby & I have loved you for quite a few years. So happy you are with Genaro,( one of my idols). Baked potatoes make sense to me for gnocchi. Less water & flour= less stoginess or bullet pasta. I will be trying this recipe soon. Perhaps you could use the leftover potato skins & deep fry them or bake for a treat with sour cream &sweet chilli sauce. Cheers guys :)

Amazing again Gennaro !!! I did this Gnocchi so many times for my friends here in Brazil, and Salvia with Manteiga are a perfect sauce. Some times I add some garlic and half fresh tomato !! Amazing !!!

Had a gnocchi dish when I visited Italy, it was weird. It was like coagulated glue, I mean it tasted nice but the texture was kind of slimy and unpleasant. Yet I'm drooling at this video. Magic of Gennaro :)
Those are some of the most tender-looking gnocchi I have ever seen! I wish I could have tasted them. Gennaro, Some of my family originated from the town of Amalfi on the Amalfi coast. I have always been drawn to that place, even before I knew about my relatives. It just looks like home to me though I have never been.

Hello Gennaro, Happy New Year from sunny Greece. You and Tobie are superb and your gnocchi looked scrumptious and I looooove gnocchi!!!! During my summer vacation in a small town of Corinth there`s a beautiful restaurant by the sea. There they serve the best gnocchi with a rich creamy sauce made of 4 cheeses. Hi Gennaro, thanks for sharing, this is great! I have a question for you. What other sauces might you recommend using this gnocchi with? Not that I don't love a great butter sauce once in a while, but for regular meals I like to look for ways to cut the calories down. Would you recommend any sauce alternatives that would work well with the gnocchi?

Dear Gennaro and Tobie!Thank you for the video!I often make this dish some time in water, some time in oil. Boiled variant is excellent with...how to say...cream?In Russia we call it smetana - sause made of milk ans special bacteria. Did you taste it?It perfectly suits such dish.

In my country we make similar dish but we call it "little hooves". One of my favs!

Lamfhad Well gnocchi are a kind of dumpling. The recipe is also very similar to our german 'Knödel'. Anyway i really like this recipe having made something like this often in the past :)
How do you eat Knödel? Some interesting sauce, or maybe sweet with sugar and fruits?
Lamfhad Mostly spicy. For example with a meat sauce or with tasty 'Rotkohl' (red cabbage?). Also nice to Frikadellen (meat balls).
Interesting since you use it as addition to meal. I am more familiar with eating it alone. But I am true Kartoffeln maniac :P
