I love how Steve can't get through the meatballs quote without laughing.
I love how Karl denies Ricky and Steve's suspicions that his story is going to be about something crazy from his childhood and then he proceeds to launch into the horse in the house anecdote.

No but I recommend leaving them all for like 2 weeks and then come back from s1e1 fresh and they are hilarious. I wish I could hear these all the first time again
I usually take little vacations listening to other podcasts or comedians for awhile at the end of each loop to keep it fresh

And here we have it. The greatest show of all. Every line is a gem. Ricky wasn't yet mean to Karl and having a go at him every other minute, Steve funnier than ever and Karl starts to come out of his shell more....
Agreed. I think that's why I prefer this season to the other ones. It's more jovial and friendly, yet still hilarious

Square tins at sainsburys is one of the best moments of the whole series.....absolutley had me in stitches everytime.....and of course the pivotal classic moment of the horse in the house story :)

Steven was on the “Inside of you with Michael Rosenbaum” podcast and said that the moment he and Ricky realized Karl was a comedy genius and they were going to work with him long term was the moment Karl talks about the horse in the living room without realizing this was the interesting part of the story!

Xfm seasons 2-4 are better
But xfm season 1 is just gold dust. Everything was natural and as much as we all love Karl's features from season 2 onwards there is something so magic about them just talking about stuff like urban legends and tales of unexpected
Absolutely. And Karl was still respected "were only joking karl" "we love you karl" and he genuinely enjoyed it and laughed most season 1 episodes.
The ending is superb 😂. Ricky having a go at Neil Armstrong for mucking up his line (because he’s not “BAFTA NOMINATEEEED), but then seconds later messing up the perfume quote himself..😂

The thing around 3.50 Ricky said about being in a foreign country. You just point, talk perfect english a bit louder and if they still don't understand, smash the place up, go mental. He used that exact joke 6 years later on a stand up show called "Animals"Nothing important just something I picked up.
+johgus96 Not trying to be funny or anything, but Ricky performed his stand up show 'Animals' in 2003.
Like Stephen said in a later season 'well you probably heard most of the stand up observations on this show already.'
there's been a few gags in this that ended up in his stand up shows. There was the one about holding a midget at arms length and kicking him in the balls. there was a few others but I can't remember them.
These shows pretty much wrote extras as well 😂
