      It's pithy in so many ways, like thinking of the ship the way he thinks of Manchester, the idea that rough areas are a direct result of sheer size within the period of a voyage, and most of all, I can't QUITE find words to tell him how he's wrong, so I'm just left sort of reeling at the remark.

      @@samaspic7846 while I agree with you that he does repeat and explain jokes, but in that instance I think it was a separate pun, as in; he can reach a higher shelf, and also meaning he can reach a higher level (management)

    The very first time I heard "cat food" I absolutely broke. I wept. Even now, the pause before he says it and the anticipation of knowing it's coming still gets me.

    23 mins 16 secs in you can hear that the studio is not very sound proof with the sirens of police cars flying by! .... Listened to all of these episodes so many times I've lost count, keep me sane while working alone! Thanks Man Moth :-)

      I've been to the studios where they record Radio X , Virgin, Talksport etc and it's even worse than you'd imagine. Hospital radio stuff 😅

    53.30 to 53.45 is easily my favourite moment in the whole of these xfm shows , it's the perfect combination of Karl's ridiculous anecdotes Steves sharp wit and Ricky's infectious laugh.

    Has anyone noticed how many of Karls stories were featured in the TV show QI? The Neil Armstrong story, the tomato on lead plates story, the distance to space and several others. They all seem to be true in the fact that they are known stories, whether or not actually true or not?

    As a lot of other people are commenting, this episode is definitely one of the best 😂 but my favourite part of it is definitely how at 44:55, Karl plants the seed for one of the best ever jokes from The Office. I hope he got a writing credit for it 😅😂

      He is. But it's the wording. Like an infant he always expects people to assimilate what is going on in his head, while we have little to no clues. Best example of that is Rockbusters, or as Ricky calles it sometimes:''What am i thinking.''

    For anyone wondering, we have the same dubious urban legend about Neil Armstrong, but over here in American, but here, it's Mr. Gorsky. It's prominent enough in our culture that it's actually said in the film, "Watchmen," during the opening credits.
