Great video! No matter if your 10 throws or 10,000 throws into your progression, practice every day while visualizing how can land in a strong power position. It's amazing how extremely seasoned throwers can get caught into that mode of overthinking the movement. Very simple yet very profound coaching advice, great work!
I just finished watching a video with Brian Oldfield and noticed some differences in technique compared to today's throwers. First, he puts the shot behind his head. He says it helps him get elevation in his throw. Second, Brian would get to the toe-board in a half-squat position. From there, he would use his legs to jump his whole body a foot into the air. That also helped him get elevation on the shot. In today's top throwers, they are barely in a quarter-squat at the toe-board. I think they are relying on speed in the spin to impart energy to the shot rather than leg strength. Imagine how far they could throw if they used both speed and leg strength. Some coaches want the right leg always bent but Oldfield would have both legs straight as he jumped as high as possible at the release. Seems like two legs can impart more energy to the shot compared to just one leg. It worked for Brian Oldfield.
Hey Dane, im watching a lot of your videos on this channel and your Channel Garage Strength. Pls do a video about core training for shot put and discus and a video about the left side block (in german we say Stemmen) for a right handed thrower. Thanks for all of your information. Greetings from Germany
Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

@@ThrowsUniversity thanks for your answer
Thank you so much for giving this video very helpful
hey coach i'm having trouble keeping balance on my spin, do you have any tips?
I drill my throwers all the time! We do stand throws so you know what the right feeling and position is like..now get there!!
If you have 2 warm up throws do you recommend doing 1 stand 1 full or 2 fulls or something else
I would say do light stands in the air off to the side and then get straight into fulls when in the circle.
Thanks
Good jobe
