Did I stay with her ,, not after five years,, But I'll tell you right now I passed up so many opportunities when I was younger .... that I wish I never did pass up... The best advice id have for someone who’s a virgin and feels nervous about how they’ll perform for the first time is just don’t even think about the fact that you’re a virgin just live in the moment, when I lost mine I didn’t feel nervous or have any performance issues or awkward moments and that’s probably because I didn’t psych myself out of it and make everything more big of a deal then it really was. (This is coming from a guy) the only reason I’m pointing that out is because I feel like guys think they have to be up to expectation and are supposed to be the ones that are good at sex rather then the female. You don’t have to be “good” at sex and especially for your first time. You live you learn and keep moving forwards 🙂
What I honestly really liked about this movie and how it was written was that Andy being a virgin wasn't the main source of the comedy. It would have been really easy to just make a bunch of jokes at his expense, but instead he was a character we genuinely rooted for and while his friends did rip on him a little at first, they did genuinely try to help him. It was a movie with heart and I think that was a really nice surprise.
Also another fun fact about the waxing scene, the woman doing the waxing lied about being able to do it properly. So the way she was doing it was actually hurting Steve Carrell a lot more than normal. It was all shot in one take until she was about to do his nipple and someone in the crew called for cut and pointed out that you had to put vaseline on the nipple because if you don't, the wax could legit rip out your nipple. So that crewman saved Steve Carrell's nipple.
What people don't get about his friends ripping on him is that that's what men do! LOL. Could be virginity, could be being bad at poker, could be not getting over a broken relationship years ago, etc. People who don't do that, especially women and younger men raised now overly feminized, don't get it and see it in its worst possible light. Try thinking outside the box and respecting how others go about friendship and male bonding. Ripping on him didn't mean that they were against him. The poker scene displayed how they were rooting for him! Ripping on him was a way of INCLUDING him in their circle backed up by trying to get him dates and hook-ups. They were loving him in the ways they knew how to love a friend.

If you are only writing to gain recognition, everyone will see it for the shallowness that motivates it. If you are writing because you have a deep desire to express yourself regardless if anybody recognizes it or not, people are more likely to like it. You're gonna have to live some life and experience some actual victories and losses to do that though. Just some dude, throwin in his two cents. Take it for what it's worth.

I respect the hustle to achieve your goals, and there is nothing wrong with being a 25 y/o virgin. But to give you a different perspective, it's very difficult to achieve your goal and capture the beauty of storytelling without living life and having experiences of your own. I'm not just talking about sex, but human interaction, night life, human vices, struggle, friendships, love, family, business etc. You aren't experiencing it, so it will be difficult to portray a sense of reality that relates to the viewer into your scripts/films.

You'll notice with these Judd Apatow films that a lot of the dialog is improvised. They do multiple takes with different lines and then he will pick the best one. There are 2 versions of his film Anchorman with completely different dialogue, but the same plot. All using different takes.
Interesting, I wish I could get my hands on screenplay to see how that works in the script, if there is basic stand-in dialogue or if there's literal spots for improvisation. Thanks for telling me this, I will go down a rabbit hole know cause I'm curious lol

(13:05)-- to answer your question, since fire and the wheel were first discovered; every new invention humankind has created at some level was only created because the creator would get laid. Think of the invention of indoor plumbing in the dark ages when people first realized that poop not only stunk, but carried disease too. You KNOW that guy got laid. The bathtub vs bathing in the cold river? Their D didn't shrink in the chill while it was going in. The shower to waste less water than a bath? They were the original "think green" progressive and I'm sure got tons of ass.
So yeah, it kind of is worth it.

And BTW the bachelorette party girl is the example of worst night ever; it's usually not that bad at all (plus now Uber exists, and most drivers are willing to look the other way if you want to start with warmups and don't get mad if you tip well as long as clothes stay on.)
And you only need one Oscar nomination as long as you win; I wouldn't want to lose so many times anyway. I'm not a DiCaprio.
I really enjoyed this movie and have seen it 3 times. The crude humor aside it's a sweet comedy where nothing bad happens. Good review, hope you liked it. BTW there is mercury vapor in those long florescent tubes.
Having sex doesn’t actually change who you are. Going out improving your social skills, exercising and developing yourself improves your life. I don’t look down on people who sleep around. But when I was in high school, I just knew some people who started so much drama sleeping with too many people also they got crazy STDs that I’m surprised they don’t got AIDS yet. Being awkward doesn’t help me getting laid. I would rather have myself improved before I do it because when I do I don’t want my partner to leave with a negative opinion of my shit personality.

This isn’t a sitcom. Sitcom is a term for television, although it began with radio. Technically can be used for movies if they are a series, but never a stand alone. It’s a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode.

VCRs and DVD players were expensive cause there was no Netflix or streaming services so blockbuster was huge or any big movie sellers rent movies and new releases for the low by getting memberships having to get there early so they don't run out of copies and you're stuck waiting lol good times made everything worth while and have more meaning having get togethers

I'm a month late to this reaction, but I am also a virgin. I am 31 years old. It is a choice basically because of how I saw classmates becoming parents before graduating high school, and I simply do not want to have sex just for the thrill.
I mostly focus on my job, and I am not social. I work alone in my own department, and while people at my job encourage me to interact with women, they respect my decisions.
For the past year, I thought that I may have some condition or disorder, but I've never seen someone to be diagnosed. If anyone here has seen "Agents of SHIELD", I often act like Fitz at the beginning of season two, with the exception of one thing that I don't want to spoil. @@JakeLovesStories Well if you saw it on Comedy Central you saw a hacked to pieces censored version. How well do you know Kevin Smith films ? Or even, how well do you know Kevin Smith's career story ? As a writer, you should be interested in how a guy can finance a movie on credit cards and turn it into a successful career. Dogma is one of his best comedic writing accomplishments as it has more direction than his other comedies, but all his films are known for his dialogue (not always 'story' but dialogue) Jersey Girl is one of his most mainstream, and more recently he has switched to serious as hell movies. A Dogma reaction would be amazing.
Gerry Bednob is his name and he's in a tonne of stuff but the only things I know him in are small parts, especially Judd Apatow films. I don't know if he's ever really shined in more extended roles in the smaller films he's done. I have seen him play straight/traditional without the attitude.

When will you be uploading your Empire Strikes Back reaction? Also, when you want to point something out, or just want to talk, I think you should maybe pause the movie. Just so you don’t miss anything.
How I edit, I basically start the movie and recording at the same time, since screen recording kinda sucks on my MacBook, it can't handle 2 hours of recording straight. So I can't pause or it will throw off the timing, if that makes sense. Maybe in the future I'll be able to upgrade the set up and do it like that. But trust me, I'm not missing anything, it takes like 5 hours to edit these videos so I see the whole movie again while editing, so I catch all the things I didn't catch while talking.

Definitely don't drink. It's never worth it. People who drink will have all kinds of things to say but I can only argue the logic that they are weak for needing alcohol to enjoy themselves. I used to drink and then when my cousin died I drank forty beers and half a bottle of whiskey in one night at his celebration of life and I woke up alone by the bonfire at 4 pm the next day. I vaguely remember dragging the still burning tree stumps across the bridge above where we were sometime around four AM. I drank here and there after but I've been sober for two years now and my gallbladder almost had to be removed so if I drink again I'll have to have surgery and that's just not worth it.

You're too uptight. You'd think this was a drama with how serious you're taking it.
This movie with the script and the story of a 40 year old virgin have so much potential to be funny,but it never reaches very far. Its chuckly worthy a couple of times, a nice happy vibe slightly funny story,with a good vibe ending..but it really lack that final touch of brilliance from the director. It lack the strength both in acting and in performance by the directors of movies like Borat, The Hangover series, Mr Bean,movies that are very funny. This is slightly funny,chuckle time,not really big laughing time. The lack is not only the director,its also the actors. The main character,the 40 year old virgin,have a very stiff facial expression all the time. He doesnt use his facial expressions. I dont say one should do at like Jim Carey,thats taking it too far,but he could use his face in a better way here..he doesnt really help this movie take off,it has the potentials to be a really funny movie,but it never goes there.
