Very useful video, Prakash. I've got Sharp 1.5 MT, I think MT is better than CVT because you will have the full control of your car while driving. Mileage is around 8 to 10 in city and around 14 to 15 in Highways. Yes, there's a little bit of lag you will feel while taking the push but it's just 2 seconds. Once it takes the push, you will realise you're at 100.
I was a little worried about why this car is looking small even though it's dimensions are more than the Creta. But when I took it to the road, trust me, it looks way bigger than Creta, it's too beautiful and the road presence is really awesome.
I am so glad that you gave your inputs about the manual transmission.
No doubt for a better control manual transmission is better because you have full control over the engine of the vehicle.
100 points to you for mentioning this fact that in photo the car looks very small but in reality it is way bigger and feels way more premium!
If possible do 1.5 sharp manual also
I am definitely going to ask MG for a test drive of manual transmission.
Frankly speaking I feel a bit odd while asking cars for test drive when I am not even going to buy them also my channel is quite small so they won't be much interested in giving me the vehicle for test drive and making a RUclips video .

This is Aniket . I am from Navi mumbai. I am planning to buy Astor Savvy 1.5 CVT.
mostly for city driving and sometimes on highways and hilly terrain.
My queries:
1. How will Astor CVT perform on hills/ ghats. It does not have paddle shifters , so will it create any problem while climbing ghats/hills.
2. Is CRETA IVT better than Astor CVT.
3. Astor CVT is better value for money package.
4. Shall I wait for CRETA Facelift 2022 or Go for Astor Savvy CVT. I think for my kind of driving turbo is not required.
5. ADAS featues - Do they actually help in regular driving or are they just gimmick?
6. How is maintenance cost for MG Astor savvy. Because so many features will probably amount higher maintenance cost.
So glad to know that you are following my videos and you found them useful I will surely reply to all your questions.
1) paddle shifters are just like a market gimmick we do have a manual shifting option in all the automatic cars in CVT as well as turbo engine. (I am planning to show it in the video ) when you are driving your vehicle On The hills it's better to have a full control over the engine and in manual bot you get the same control and then you are driving this much better as compared to a car which is in full automatic mode.
2) creta is a very good car and it has very good market presence as well. We are all much aware that it has great resale value.
Creta ivt and Astor CVT will have similar mileage!
3. For everyday usage CVT is a great choice it will definitely give a good mileage in the City.
4. Creta facelift and Tuscon face left are going to have a similar design. The problem with Hyundai right now is that nobody has any clue that in how many days will you actually get the vehicle.
As per my calculations if you book a creta today you will get it after 14 to 16 months.
If you need a battle faster than that then Aster is the one.
5-nope address is not a market gimmick it actually works the emergency braking system is very efficient and I have personally experienced that.
Last question + we are all much aware how how much is the maintenance of creta now I am sure that mg being new in the market would not do anything that would ruin their name as there are very strong competitors in the market.
They are much aware that if the service cost is high then nobody is going to choose their vehicle.
If we compare the service cost of ha also then that is also very less as compared to other vehicles of that category in the market.
Expect a service cost around 5 to 6 thousand rupees after every 10000 km.
But if you include any kind of cosmetic addons then I am not to be blamed for that.

I am owning 1.5 CVT sharp variant... I am getting 12 kms mileage in traffic and 17 in highways if speed is around 80 - 85... As far I have experienced cvt is best for mileage... Turbo is best for it's performance... Dono different purposes ke liye bana hua h...

What’s your opinion about CVT for longer run, as I know CVT is belt drive and it’s costly and complex from maintenance standpoint. I personally need automatic but I am concerned about CVT and if I choose to go for turbo then it won’t cost effective in terms of initial investment as well as running cost. So bit confused between MT, CVT.
I strongly feel your advice will help me to make my decision.
In today's world i don't even look at MT as a choice because of the traffic conditions.
Also it's a mess to drive an MT unless you are a true car enthusiast.
Just so you know-I still drive a mt i20 but whenever i am on an AT, the feel is completely different
You will have no problem in owning a CVT in long run. I know users using CVT from so many years and no one faced any issue!
There are few things you need to take care ,other than that it's all good.

I wanted to give a general user experience... And i didn't wanted to go technical ( that was my plan)
Aapne bilkul sahi aur sateek review diya hai about Turbo and 1.5 VTI Tech CVT ke baare mein👏. Agar aapka budget allow kare to Turbo hi le. You won't regret it at all.
Agar aap mostly city driving and occasional highway drive karte hon to aap CVT lele. If aapka highway is high just like me to aap Turbo hi le. If budget is upto turbo engine to aap turbo engine hi le over CVT.
Hamne iska Turbo Variant isliye liya tha taaki at higher speed and at the time of pick up, engine jyada stressed sound na ho. Kyuki Turbo ki high speed sounds stressful feel nahi hoti in comparison to 1.5 L CVT. Plus pickup is really good to overtaking ke waqt bhi no lag and no stress sound. CVT usme stress kar jaata hai jo thoda.
Hamne jab CVT ka test drive liya tha jab hame kharidni thi to I found that car ka transmission wasn't quick like lag ho jaata tha full on pedal me for overtaking, rubber band effect jaisa. Aur kabhi kbhar thodi ajeeb si sound bhi aati thi. CVT can also get stressed out mountain roads pe easily with 2-3 people in car. And mileage me utna difference bhi nahi hai Turbo ke comparison me. Barely 0.5 or 1kmpl more.
Whereas Turbo one was smooth, stress less, quick in shifts and overtaking. Also Turbo mountain roads pe bhi kaam aayega. And won't stress at all even with 4 people on it. Mileage is similarish to CVT.
Han bhai ekadam sach baat hai Turbo lekar koi bhi Insan nahin Karega.
Abhi kuchh din pahle mujhe ek Insan ka call aaya vah vah mujhse kahta hai ki Turbo Highway per 7 ka mileage deti hai .I said to him Bhai mera video dekh lo Aisa kuchh nahin hai but vah kahta hai company bhi itna claim karti hai maine bola ab mujhe ine sab baton ki koi jankari nahin hai mere pass Jo hai vah achcha chal raha hai na I am happy aage mujhe kuchh nahin pata.
Aap to vaise bhi kafi lambe lambe distances per driving kar rahe hain SO aapke liye to Turbo hi acchi hai kyunki ki jab ham long distance driving karte Hain tab hamen responsive in chahie Varna raste mein frustration feel hone lagti hai.
Kabhi kabhi man karta hai ya FIR jarurat bhi pad jaati hai ki Tej chalao aise situation main CBT utna badhiya perform nahin kar sakti.
Per bhai sach mein mileage difference jyada rahega itna Kam nahin jitna aap kah rahe hain. Main use 10 kilometre mein hi 15 ka mileage nikal diya tha use gadi se.
Vaise vah bahut hi Chhota distance tha to determine actually Kitna yah mileage degi but mujhe yah samajh mein a Gaya ki CVT chote mote distance per kafi accha mileage de sakti hai as compared to Turbo.
Turbo is actually very smooth or uska acceleration ekadam dil khush kar deta hai aur jo 3000 pm ke bad Jo awaaz aati hai vah bhi badi acchi hai
@@prakashparadisee CVT variant ka jo milega hai wo 17-18 tak hi jaa paega if try kia to. Like CVT ka in general tank bhi 3 Litres bada hai plus it's 4 cylinder and 1.5L to fuel consumption me jyada farak to notice nahi hoga. If turbo me 16 tak aa jaata hai to us respect me it's not that much of a difference. Maine international reviews dekhe the car ke when this car was not launched in India to unhe bhi aise hi 15-18 ke beech CVT me mil raha tha mileage.
Also MG sells turbo ka 160hp in Australia and udhar claimed mileage is of 15kmpl for turbo AT. And here it's 138hp and 15-16 mileage.
Haan ye sahi hai! 18 maan lete hain for CVT 16 for turbo 😃😃

I wanted to know about 1.5 manual Astro About climbing a steep road or a hilly road as I took a test drive of Sharp Varaint 1.5 Manual as I love to drive a car all by myself and by my judgement and not by a machines judgement or control so I m not a fan of automatic cars. But my concern is that it was a effort to drive up a steep road for the car as compared to the car I am using at present Volkswagen polo 1.2 petrol may b because the polo is lighter car as compared to Astro am I right, Can you please help me understand if the 1.5 manual varaint will be difficult to climb up a steep road with more people inside.so is the 1.5 manual is it Underpowered version. Thank you

Well Saurabh ..I had just cancelled my khushaq booking however mine was 1.0 turbo Automatic (touque converter) it's actually a tough choice b/w khushaq 1.5 and Astor 1.3 .
However pls check if orvm feature is there in 2022 model of Khushaq .
PS : Both are beautiful vehicles and it really took me 3 weeks to decide b/w those .
At last I picked Astor 1.5 CVT .
Comparing Kushaq with Astor is tough!
Astor is giving more features.
Kushaq had slightly better handling
Both are good in terms of safety.
Astor has performed better than Kushaq in intial stage of car production.
Kushaq has 4 cylinder engine and Astor has 3 cylinder
The Turbo single clutch is more cost friendly in terms of service as compared to dual clutch in long run.
Kushaq has slightly better suspension than Astor
Astor has better road grip than Kushaq
I guess i have told all the points i could think of!

I see the comparison between the two as :
Exterior styling - Personal Choice ( i prefer kushaq styling as it looks baby Karoq/kodiaq)
Interior styling - Astor hands down and Kushaq is no match at all. The materials used in astor, soft touch, premium feel all over, gives an impression of car from a league above)
Features - both are adequately loaded and comes with all needed and typically used safety features.
Safety rating - both are not tested however astor is on zs platform which is 5 star rated so astor most likely should b 5. Kushaq awaited and looks like 5 star too
Driving - here’s where things change Kushaq 1.5 handsdown and i see astors 1.3 way sluggish against 1.5 and dynamics to control cars and high speed driving have to give it to kushaq
So if one gives preference to driving over interior - kushaq but one who needs overall good package Astor

Hi bro. Did you counter with any unpleasant sound(Inside the flight sound) in 1.5 cvt? Though 1.3 turbo is very much smoother… When I took the test drive I felt like. Please clarify…
There was engine noise!
Only if you are driving rashly
Else everything will be fine!
Turbo sound is pleasing to ears no doubt!
But the thing is CVT is meant to be driven in a relaxed manner!

Only while overtaking the difference can be seen! Else both are good!
If 4 people are sitting it would be more comfortable for the driver to ride a turbo!

I have booked Astor too (sharp,Automatic ) however the waiting time in B'lore in 5-6 months .
I drove and loved it during my test ride .
On fri I drove khushaq and liked it too and showroom promised to deliver khushaq In less than 45 days .
I am not in a super hurry however 6 months is a dam long time for a car .
Do you think it will be worth ?

Now coming to your issue- both the cars are highly capable cars but I would recommend you not to go for 1 litre engine in Skoda .
Tell me which car looks more beautiful to your eyes.
If it's Astor then what I can recommend you to do this - talk to the sales guy and ask him to to give you the vehicle which has come on the name of someone but at the last moment he refused to purchase it
In such a case there are X you won't get your favourite colour but you can get your favourite car.
Till now MG Astor has been quite successful car because no engine issue has come in in any car. Engine being the soul of the car needs to be free of all kinds of issues in more than 96% of the car sold.
I hope I was able to to give you certain kind of direction which would help you in deciding which car is more suitable for you.

Other than that - driving normally driving easy you can take this car at any elevation and at any motarable road in India !!

If you want full control over the power of your car then automatic transmission is not for you.
Automatic transmission is generally for people who doesn't want to press clutch and wants a relaxed driving experience because when there is no clutch the joy of driving a vehicle increases.
You actually start enjoying the journey than driving.
If you want to enjoy driving then definitely manual is for you.
If you ask me e personally I would never recommend a manual car unless you are a driving enthusiast. For general public and automatic transmission is a great choice. With the introduction of CVT the mileage is also quite good so much so that it can be compared to the mileage of manual transmission.
On the practical basis the difference of mileage between the CVT and the manual transmission would be maximum 1 km per litre

Hi Prakash, I booked Savvy 1.5 CVT, I saw this video and understood the lag while accelerating. Can you please clarify below doubts. I got allotment and confused for taking delivery.
1. What is the maximum speed can be achieved with 1.5 CVT
2. There is manual transmission option given in this variant, will it be helpful while overtaking.
3. How it will perform while climbing hills ?

I will reply to all your questions
1) on an expressway where traffic is less this car can reach 160-170.
But i recommend that such vehicle shall not be driven more than 135kmph
2) Manual will definitely have more control over engine as compared to Automatic so yes it would be able to perform better.
3. With manual mode the hill climbing will also be good! There will be some noise from engine but it won't feel like it's powerless.

Surely all your questions will be answered to the best of my knowledge.
1) well the resale value of any company depends on the success of any model that is in the market. If you want two access the resale value, you can check how the MG Hector is performing in the market. It has been quite a successful model for mg and has proved its worth in the long run.
2) CVT is mainly for better mileage full stop it does not give you good performance as compared to a turbo engine. The turbo activate after 3000 RPM which means that the car would be driving as a very normal three cylinder engine till the time it has not crossed 3000 RPM so in such a situation Turbo will also give you a decent mileage if given nicely.
3) the sharp optional model is not a market giving and the features are very useful while driving on highways.
There are some features which are good for cities as well and after using the same for such a long period I can surely let you know that these features are not just a market gimmick. Since you are not well versed with the Hindi language that's why you could not understand my videos els everything was discussed in very detailed manner.
4. The long term reliability of any engine depends on your maintenance of the vehicle. both the vehicles are very capable and they can easily stay with you for next 10 years.

You are wrong about one thing.
You said something like CVT is meant to be driven slow. Its wrong. CVT just has slow acceleration and rubbering banding effect.
Also its not 8 gears, its 8 step. You can use sport mode to go down to 5 or something at 80 on cvt.
Bhai the thing is while accelerating hard you will feel that engine is taking too much load!
But when you drive a Turbo you won't feel this!
(The rubber band effect is the right term)

I have booked cvt and during test drive, I felt this lag and I am still thinking whether to go with manual or turbo( but spending another 2.8 is way out of my budget) Do you think cvt would struggle in hills due to this lag? Let's say stuck on a steep one
Let me explain you on this comment section only-
If if an automatic car is driven on auto mode On The hills then it becomes very difficult to have a good control over the car.
In such a case it is always advisable to use the manual mode in which you can change the gas as per your convenience.
CVT won't be struggling on hills that's something I am confident!
If you are looking for a convenient car you don't want the hassle of a clutch being pressed on hills or even when you are stuck in traffic then you can go for automatic
If you want the car in which you have the maximum control over the engine then I would suggest you to go for the manual transmission.
If Turbo is going out of your budget I would say and do not buy it because there will be a mileage difference ,also in the turbo and it would hurt your wallet as well.
