He has a tool belt of tricks that he’s carved out and mastered, but by no means is he the best overall drummer. So many genres have elite legends that can do things I guarantee you he can’t or hasn’t studied to do

Maybe some haven't noticed, that's an upsidedown snare with those springs. Then his left foot has three different pedals for three different things, one of which is another snare with the kick pedal. Lastly, watch at the very end. He wasn't struggling, breathing hard or exhausted. He could keep playing at these speeds and difficulty probably for hours with ease. He had to have the level of awareness and know how to be able to go from strikes to swiping that spring at a specific rate and go back to strikes. Know which pedal with his foot and at which level. He may not be the best in the world, but he deserves the title as one of the absolute best to be able to do such a variety with a level of creativity that is consistent and can be duplicated. Remember, in music it's not about being able to do it, but don't over and over. He has the ability to think independently with each limb with accuracy and has trained himself to be able to continuously play over and over without exhaustion.
The best is a matter of perspective. Some feel he over fills his music. But this is RUclips, not a band, and after nearly half a decade, he's been producing video after video, week after week, day after day. Each having to be different than the first. So of course he NEEDS to over fill each song to stand out from the previous videos. Some don't like the abrasive music choices in some cases. Or promotion of specific things illegal in some countries, or the neon signs to ef off. But for many of us, we see the training, dedication, equipment, and talent it takes to do what he has done, and in most cases with half or less the equipment that others use. More creativity and accuracy. I'm willing to bet, you can ask him to replay a song from a year ago and he could knock it out exactly as the original and it would be exactly the same. All this makes him deservingly one of the best in the world. To me, I feel he's the best I watch and follow

Jorge, I’m glad you exist and here’s my small bump to your algorithms! I’ll copy to a bunch of your videos! My reasons?
    1. I’m not a drummer and haven’t listened to much music for years (I’m into books right now). I’ve never enjoyed watching drummers do their thing outside of a song. Despite that, you have grabbed my attention and I’ve dipped into music styles I don’t even enjoy and discovered artists that are great! Your mesmerizing drumming and the pure entertainment raised them to something worth watching again and again! Wow! I’ve listened to more music in the past couple months than in the last decade! Thank you!
    2. You are funny, authentic, intelligent, incredibly disciplined and skilled. (You are also some real eye candy, but that wouldn’t matter if it wasn’t for your inner qualities!) What impresses me is that you want to pass on your life lessons, knowledge and skills to others and inspire them on their own journey. That’s big! Huge!!! We need more people in the world like that!
    3. As a side note, in your Million Views video you mentioned that something in your character drives you to do correctly whatever you’re doing. That can be a blessing or a curse, but when I listened to your Mike Portnoy video and your story about your girl related reasons for learning his song, I just started laughing. Your drive to do things ‘correctly’ could be a blessing for your partners!
    4. Thank you for enriching my life and I wish you fulfillment, success and happiness as you ‘lay pipe’ in your own life’s journey! Life is short, go for it! Nancy from the States!

Bro. The way he grabbed that second stick with his right hand to ride through that section and then tossed it effortlessly while moving on to the next section. Mind blown

Ok. This is the craziest one yet. I’m a 40 year old amateur drummer…. After seeing this. I don’t know what to say. Honestly. This is such mastery in modern drumming.

a problem i have with many musicians nowadays is that their technical ability faaaaar exceeds the creative abilities, but not with you. and i am really glad about that. in almost every video i find interesting techniques, articulations, ideas or even custom drums (like the snare cabassa-thing here). you also have really interesting fills and sometimes i can't even deceipher the rhythm exactly, which is super rare. and great. like learning a language and getting to the part that is still difficult to understand. due to the rarity of this feeling, i really dig that. i appreciate you and your drums tremendously!

Still watching this video like twice a week after 2 months. I feel like he should do an end of the year medley of HIS favorite songs to play. Do like maybe a 10 minute video or so of him just jamming out to parts of songs that HE has the most fun playing. You can tell he gets into the groove pretty heavy on some of them. It would be so cool to see that, just watching him having a blast behind the set to his favorite jammies.

Random viewer i urge you ro watch a second time because i guarantee you missed something incredible in this video because its impossible to track everything first pass...
Ok, yeah i totally missed the third snare on the pedals, its just amazing how creative he is in his setup and creating sounds. Just the thought going into this and experimentation... And the skill and dedication. Absolutely my favourite drummer.
Also he keeps swapping to the inter-finger grip on the floor tom (i watched it a third time 0.25 speed to understand), i thought that was for the double sticks method, wondering why he does it just on the floor tom. But it's so slick every time

If this doesn't solidify he's one of the top 5% in the world, I don't know how else he can prove it. 3 different pedals with his left foot, 3 drum sticks, and the speed and accuracy halfway through is just insane. He can play this 100 times and every time would sound exactly the same every single time. He's a beast. I would say he's a machine, but no machine could sound this good, this accurately, and at these speeds with this talent. And the best part, he's modest and humble, not knowing his own talent. But of course he only owes himself for his success. This is what 100% commitment and dedication looks like mixed with natural talent

21 days of rehearsing, probably 3-6 hours a day, still means he's not from any planet close to here. There aren't that many of us drummers that could play this, like this, flawlessly, in a year, let alone 21 days

I love this guy as a drummer. He totally inspired me to pick up the stix again. I always wanted him to cover Strapping young lad "love" just cause his rolls from the toms I can almost hear it in some spots. I don't think he has ever covered anything like that. Or cover Fear Factory "securitron" .. or like nine inch nails..anything from pretty hate machine, broken or downward spiral those three albums ..I think he would do some wild stuff..and I think these are all bands who have done some known songs but just not ummm radio friendly ones. Besides NIN. Who hasn't heard "closer" right? Lol.
