Honestly having a discord with a pretty decent sample size for opinions and data is really nice for all of this stuff
The hobby is leaving thock behind and gravitating towards clack
not good... cause Clack just doesnt sound good
@@Mikoto_Suoh it's a good thing you don't have to listen to others' sound tests then, huh?
@@jalexanderc if you hope for good switches, sure... then its a bummer when its shtty unworthy clack
@@Mikoto_Suoh wow you must be a joy to share opinions with, you can just not buy from HMX, bro
@@jalexanderc same argue like above... if you are searching for more thock you ll take a look
I've been using HMX's Hyacinth V2's for a couple of months now. The hype is real, HMX is just on an entirely different level. Can't wait to see what they bring to the table in terms of tactile switches.
+1
Mine are the HMX Garnets. The long pole bottom out but full travel still hits so nice
big fan of these switches! super fun to type on.
may i have ur recomendation if i looking for creamiest switches, which one i should look further ?
Wanna ask about u view on the cheese vs xinhai
was looking an eye on them for my next board?
are they mostly just different in force?
Nice vid mate
Oh, I had no idea they came in a heavier variant too. I had a sample of the original, lighter one, they were definitely too light for me. And not gonna lie, I like a good clack, but these might be even too loud for me (subject to build, of course!) :D.
Is there a difference between the heavier version? Sound wise?
I love most of the Xinhais I bought from you, but some of them have a terrible thud. What is wrong with them and how can I fix them? Is something wrong with their stems, or do I just need to re-lube them?
I got HMX Lotus (from Milktooth) for my Kohaku, and they sound AMAZIN'
it would be nice if you included a close up of the factory lube with a little more light, also the lube on the springs is pretty important to reduce ping. just a little more insight into the factory lubing would be nice, for those of us who dont feel like relubing or even opening them
Any chance you'll be getting some Gateron Summertime V2?
milktooth released a video today - today is a great day
The Hyacinth sounds quite nice!
You think you'll ever be able to stock BSUN Raw Linears. Divinikey keeps selling out of the linear version and they're my favorite linears.
They sound so alike the heck haha
Ayyy my quote. Where’s my cut 😢❤ another great vid! Dig me some xinhais
Thank you KPong 🥹
I hope you would do a review vid of the HMX Eva switch
The smoothest switches I've tried so far are gateron black ink v2 and C3 Tangerines. Would you say the xinhai's are smoother?
For my testing, yes. But different batches may yield different smoothness too.
@@Nakata_Keebs Appreciate the feedback. Time to cop these switches then.
Been wanting to try the heavier version of these and some Nixies, you had both! Order placed!
please bring back switch testers 😭
Agreed. I am really disappointed about this. I was so excited to try different switches to figure out what I want, but when you ask them send you a link to clackify in which you have to spend a bit of $$ just to test different ones.
Hyacinth v2 spacebar sounds nice
If you aren't buying your switches from Milktooth, I don't know what you are doing with your life.
Hard agree
not everyone is from the US
For real lol I’m about to order my second and definitely not last batch 😮
Great video. Do you think the typing feel of Xinhai have a big difference compared to Hyacinth V2?
Ill let you know soon, if i dont respond within the next couple days send me a reminder lol
But before i can even try them out, i would say the Hyacinths are lower pitch.
Hey so I ordered the Emo's, the Hyacinth V2s, and the Xinhais. The Emo is the highest sound profile, next is the Xinhai and then Hyacinths with the deepest sound (most full/bold sound) and the heaviest bottom out.
As for the feel, the Hyacinths feel better to me, but that might be just because I'm used to a heavier switches as of late.
Honestly, all three of these are amazing and I'm having a hard time deciding which I like the most. Sound wise it's the Emos.
Next I want to try the Cheeses.
@@PAPA_CEO_PUMA Thank you so much for actually testing out! Based on your review I think I will order Xinhai since I want to go full clack no foam build. Also I agree that Hyacinth is heavy and sometimes my hand feels weary after a full day of typing at work
@@adaniwafi2448 No worries, happy to help! But dont let that “heavy” comment steer you away, it’s lighter than most switches with only a 52g bottom out
I got some a few weeks ago and they are my absolute favorite switch ive ever tried (and they’re my favorite out of the 8 hmx switches I have)
you can really tell the differences?
@@robmarth2226 100%, it was VERY hard to distinguish between xinhai, sunset gleam, and blue topaz though. Between the 3 sunset's were the clackiest. Blue Topaz was SLIGHLTY lower pitch (barely noticable), and xinhai's were bright, good high-medium pitch, stupidly smooth, but still soft enough to be clacky but not overbearing like a gateron cj would be. Overall it's my current favorite switch but if I didn't have them all side by side you wouldn't really notice a difference at all
@@robmarth2226 The only thing I would have done differently with the xinhai is get the lower gram spring because even though the spring isn't crazy heavy, it feels heavier than other switches with similiar weighted springs 🤷♂️
I've only had the luxury of trying out the Wuque Studio WS Morandi. How do the xinhai compare to them or any of the other top switches that are talked about in this channel?
@@Xe054i have the morandi’s and don’t like them so to me the xinhai is better in every way, that said, they’re not super comparable. Xinhai sound WAY more full, they’re smoother, they’re louder, they are clacky (while Morandi are about as far from clacky as you can get), all around I think they are miles above the morandi’s but I’m also the only person I’ve seen that doesn’t like them so take that for what it is
so these are long pole switches right?
They have 3.4mm travel distance, so yeah
hmx are banger but cheese and lotus are my favorite
LMAO I just bought this from you last night crazyyyyyyy
witnessed that happen in real time LOL
bro ship out the orders dawg
Anyone compare these to Oil Kings?
The Oil Kings is only for those who prefer the deep, creamy sound, while the hmx are for the clacky, high-pitch sound
I just bought some yesterday so thank you for validating my purchase even more
A Blue and White switch being named Xinhai? Yeah... there are no coincidences lol.
xinhai or cheese?
Wayyy too clacky for me. Nice video though!
I don't get this weird trend of people trying so hard to get their linears to be as loud as cherry blues
People like the acoustics of mechanical switches. Comparing to cherry blues is just dumb.
Have you actually bought and tried these HMX switches?
You should. Because there is no comparison between this and a cherry blue. These are on another level.
If you're very concerned about sound there's plenty of membrane keyboards you can get 🙏
Well others do.
bro can’t tell the difference between clacky and clicky 😢
xinhais indeed goated, altho i dont see any savings, 35 cents on unikeys, 28 cents on swagkeys. great to have another source of xinhais if out of stock
Hey man, I’m going to order quite a few switches (over 100 dollars) and was wondering if you had any promo codes I could apply at checkout? Thanks! @milktooth
