Excellent. I subscribed, and will be looking for more. And I couldn't agree more of how powerful this album is. It's constructed beautifully, and the final 3 and a half minutes of Low Lands is the greatest material I've ever heard.
Just found Gojira recently and im listening to nothing else right now ^^ As you said there s so much emotion in this album and you can really feel it while playing the song. Great cover btw! ;)
Kevin you are so fun to watch and how you have so much attention to detail amazing im really interested in seeing you do a cover for esoteric surgery ive only seen one thats even close add it to your arsenal sure it would be amazing as well
Kevin I love watching your vids your an awesome drummer you pay close attention to detail do you think you could play esoteric surgery with that kind of detail would love to see a vid on that one even to hire doesn't have any vids on it, it won't be easy
Love that groove ! We can hear it way more easily than in a mix. Great job !! You should try "Embrace the world" if you want to work on that double kick :) All joke aside The Link is a very primitive album, I love it.
How often do you use paradiddles in your playing? I'm just curious if you ever use it those drum fills. I'm not sure what the proper application of it is. I've seen somewhere it's supposed to help with fluidity on the kit, but it seems like a specific pattern you can only use for certain beats. Are you mostly playing straight in your drum fills? I don't know what I'm talking about. I've played guitar for 9 years, have always wanted to play drums, and I'm getting close to buying my first kit. I'm doing as much homework as I can so I have a bit of a leg up in the early learning process. Also, I might have to get an electronic kit which kills me to say, but it's because of the living situation. I've been doing my homework on those too though. I'm well aware of all the pros and cons.
Very precise drummer, Look right at home behind that set, would love to see someone do Esoteric surgery right, and i think you could do it easily, kevin paradis is the only one even close, but hes only close
Excellent cover. This is one of my favourites from the new album. I've been trying to cover stranded since it came out but my double bass isnt so good, also i think my pedals are a bit weird, the left one squeaks a bit and if i hit them both at the same time the left one will stop moving before the right one. i dont know why im saying all this but you replied to my last comment and youre one of my favourite drummers on youtube so i was wondering if you have any suggestions? and how do you maintain your pedals?
Hey thanks. I use Iron Cobra foot pedals which can be a bit pricy so I'd recommend looking for something a bit cheaper. The key in maintaining your foot pedals is to have the tension set at the appropriate amount for your preference. My pedals are pretty tight so there's a lot of kickback but that's just me. I would just recommend practicing your double bass as much possible. Gojira probably isn't the best band to start with. I'd recommend maybe System of a Down or Avenged Sevenfold or really any metal band that has some easier, slower DB parts. In my experience, the more you play along with songs, the more your brain gets better at playing the drums. Good luck with your drumming!
+Kevin Wade ok cool. I have done a cover of System of a Down and I'm working on some Avenged Sevenfold. I'll work more on those and some other bands with easier double bass. I'll try adjusting the tension so the two pedals are more even as well. Thank you so much for replying and for the advice, I really appreciate it.
Hello Kevin ! Truly awesome content on your channel ! Thanks for teaching me the main groove of L'enfant sauvage haha I just uploaded a drum cover of only pain today. I hope you'll check it out :) Keep kicking ass on those drums
