First heard this song around 2010. It resonated. I'm uber liberal. My liberal friends wonder where Trump came from. They were not and are not listening to this message.

Saw them at a beautifully intimate setting at EAR-X-TACY in Louisville years back…just walked by and man at door says…”got room for two more free show”! My cousin and I were blessed that day…divine alignment❤

I became a fan of DBT the first time I heard "Nine Bullets" back in '99. Now eight albums and two concerts (both small clubs, the best way to see them) I am an even bigger fan. I suspect the only reason DBT is not incredibly huge is that their music falls between the cracks of country, rock and alternative programming for most radio stations...that and there doesn't seem to be a place for liberal white Southern musicians these days.

Loved em back then too!! Saw them many times at clubs in Baltimore...Oh and how’s about Steve Earle [as at least one example of a ‘liberal southern boy’] that’s done pretty good for himself. Love me some Steve Earle too!

All I know is I sit and listen to women without whiskey live at the 40 watt with the Isbell Fellow on the red Gretch or whatever it is and Zip City. Live. That shit speaks to me Carl Perkins Cadillac I used to sit in front of Fame Studios off of the side of US Highway 72 at Mussel Shoals During the late 1970s and early 80s wondering who may be there

As an ex-Southerner who left the area some 35 years ago, I have to say that this remind me of members of my family like nothing else.

Their lyrics always seem to hit me in the right spots man. “I don’t know God, but I fear his wrath. I’m trying to stay focused on the righteous path.” I’ve heard this song probably over 100 times. And for some reason, this morning while cooking breakfast those words about knocked me down. Definitely one of the best bands around!

I think Patterson Hood's use of a Les Paul Deluxe (with it's mini humbuckers) provides guitar tones reminiscent of Neil Young's. The country influence links them in style as well. I figure most who like Neil Young, will probably like DBT.

I just can't send enough props your way! So I'll do the next best thing; spread the gospel of your music to those souls like myself who have never before heard your incredible, awesome sounds! Vocals ala Neil Young, melodies ala Marshall Tucker and flat-out guitar assaults ala Lynyrd Skynyrd and Outlaws! I even detected a taste of the brother Duane Allman! It's deliciously obvious you have been paying attention to the things that matter: music that goes in the ear and straight to the soul! Although I am a gringo, I have lived in Mexico for the past 10 years. And if not for Sirius XM Radio's Outlaw Country format, I would never have known DBT even existed! But within the first few chords of "George Jones", I knew I was hooked! And I won't rest until you get your proper due on the radio; from here to Tierra del Fuego! !Muchisimo Gracias, wey!
