      How long was the waiting list? I’ve had a deviated septum for a while now but my gp didn’t want to do a face-to-face appointment and misdiagnosed me with allergies. He prescribed me steroids which made my face swell up and caused abrasions in my nostril, and now he’s still trying other steroids and nasal sprays, it’s tough trying to get someone to take me seriously

    • @chaa_rrer
      @chaa_rrer 3 года назад

      @@zybi397 I had a similar issue... when I tried to arrange a meeting with the gp, they arranged a phone consultation and didn't actually see my face. It was only when I came to university in London and registered with my uni's affiliate gp, and exaggerated the issues on the form (because there weren't really accurate options covering my problem), that I was given an appointment to see a gp in person, who referred me to an ENT hospital. This gp appointment was in December and I was given a consultation in the ENT in July.
      Hope this helps

    Hey there, I watched your whole video!
    I will be having the same thing, I have had sinus issues for 8 + half very long years-and whenever I did bring up about sinus issues not one of them mentioned about a CT/X-ray scan but when I had an MRI scan it did show my right side of my nose was perforated but nothing was said about that but about no tumours etc! 😡
    BTW-I'm from the UK so will be having th is all done via the NHS, Anyway had all these appointments cancelled due to Covid which was super annoying and would get burning sensation through my nose constantly for years-had my CT scan had my results from telephone today and said I have a cyst/Polyp in my right nostril under my eye and a misaligned septum!
    So he was booking that and should be ready to sort out in a couple of months. 😁
    I knew burning sensation was due to sinus infection but as it was constant for years and didn't go then knew that the crooked septum interferes with drainage of mucus from the sinuses into the nasal cavity, this can be a prime environment for bacteria to grow, leading to repeated episodes of infection and inflammation in these spaces!
    Where in England you from-I know you mentioned Birmingham but you said when you did live there, I'm in Kent between Dartford/Bexleyheath way!
    Prob have it done at Queen Mary's Hospital-Sidcup!

    I’m on day 5 of recovery just got out of hospital today, my face under the hard cast is soooo itchy!
    For me personally having the packing out wasn’t too bad but I am slightly worried about them taking the cast off and taking the stints out. That sounds like it’s going to hurt quite a lot.
    The thing that has surprised me the most is that the thing that’s bothered me the least is my nose, my eyes swelling and burning and my dry mouth have bothered me way more than the little bit of pain from my nose.

    • @piccoloolivo5970

      I’m on day 2 and honestly I want the cast off so bad. I’m so itchy and it’s really irritating me. I have dissolvable packing as well as stints and it hasn’t fully dissolved yet. Were you able to breathe through your nose after the packing came out?

    • @averagestan9671
      @averagestan9671 2 года назад

      @@piccoloolivo5970 I'm on day... 11 now, the stitches came out on day 7 and they replaced the cast so I have a new one now and the stints are still in, hopefully removed in 3 days. I'm only able to get a tiny bit of air through one nostril and it really changes from day to day and it just seems due to swelling and also some of the stuff in the nose, dry blood and mucus etc.
      Just keep doing the nose sprays every day because the more stuff you get out of your nose you will feel better. Sadly the cast just gets more and more itchy BUT if you have an ice pack and put it on your forehead or check near the itch it seems to stop the itching. Currently living with ice packs on my face all day.
      Apparently when you have the stints removed or in your case when they have dissolved you should be able to breathe much better and they should clean some stuff out of your nose for you.
      Little warning, when they take the cast off it doesn't hurt but feels SUPER weird, like your nose isn't attached.
      Also remember your nose will be super swollen after the cast comes off.

      hey, how were you able to get it on the NHS if you don’t mind me asking? I currently have an upcoming appointment and moderate breathing issues and was wondering if that’s the same case with you?
      How long have you been waiting since your first appointment?

      It hurt when I was so swollen that it didn’t really fit but when the swelling went down it was fine other than being insanely itchy but I don’t think that’s normal☺️
