    1:00 Jenova flying away with Jenova's body... Sephiroth needs a wing to fly.
    2:50 Cloud uses Roche's motorcycle move that Cloud just stole from earlier in the game.
    3:38 aside from the peculiar nature of dates, OG starting December 9th for every timeline spreadsheet ever officially released and Remake per world preview starting December 12th.
    4:00 Dirge gives us an exact count its over a thousand. Reeve also describes this ending in Dirge... as Vincent witnesses the past getting altered but never call it out...
    4:23 the Whisper mission is to keep things from entering (material ultimania)
    9:51 The actual Sephiroth.
    10:50 Its December 15+ for Cloud, its September 17th for Zack. Not really different universes. Whispers exist in all points of time at once. If its here, its here throughout all time. As mentioned, Reeve describes it as a thousand screams that surrounds the Shinra building every single night ever since the day Jenova escaped.
    The post whisper defeat particle fall is seen in BC, after its singularity is dealt with, in DC, after Omega is defeated..
    11:40 Whisper saves Zack in the state of play trailer, shown in the live performance only, hidden in other versions of the trailer. There are always 4 whidpers shown in sephiroth's key art. Sephiroth is the voice for the whisoer keeping Cloud sleeping...
    17:54 Destiny Crossroads, most likely in some sort of lifestream or lifestream memory, ultimania poonts out that it is created by sucking in memories of materials or some nonsense; the tornados suck in parts of sector 5 and those are duplicated with fluttering lifestream energy.
    The space we find Sephiroth in, however, is quite blatantly Midgar's plate from advent children. The lifted Shinra building is in the exact state it was in when Sephiroth sliced it down in advent children, down even to the angle its on. I dont think he actually took us to the future, but to his memory of it.
    ___
    Many events last to 7 seconds. Ultimania says that edge of creation is held with stop magic seven seconds before the planet dies and nothing else can be done.

    Rufus can see the whispers because he touched Cloud. Ability to see them is transferred by touching someone who already can.

    Seven seconds to the end: Aeriths death is instrumental in defeating Sephiroth, i believe that the Sephiroth of the future, sees this as his greatest mistake, If Aerith lives, then she cant be around to guide Holy and ultimately defeat Sephiroth at the end of FF7og, so Sephiroth wins.
    He is trying to manipulate Cloud into saving Aerith, so he can win.
    Cloud will need to choose between saving Aerith and letting Sephiroth win, Or letting her die, but being able to help save the planet.
    this will be the dichotomy at the heart of rebirth.

      Feels like Matrix Reloaded, when Neo has to choose between Zion, the last bastion of humanity, and Trinity, his love interest. Despite going for Trinity, he is eventually able to achieve both objectives, so I predict something similar here. If Cloud does have his memories of Aerith's fate projected to him from the other timeline, he will feel compelled to save her, things will go much worse for the world than in the original in the final game, but eventually Cloud and team will be able to save the planet.

      1, holy doesn't require it's user to guide it from the grave.
      2. Sephiroth has not been defeated. He persists. Aerith's death has done nothing to deal with him. Not this time, and not then. I mean, *points at OWA absorbing whispers* does he look defeated? And you could say cloud will be there to stop him whenever he pops up, but not forever. All sephiroth has to do is wait a few decades, then he is free to act with impunity.
      The only thing killing her again is going to do is to alienate a sizable portion of the fan base who have been looking for a path to her salvation since she popped up in the church after her death.

      @@kingloucifur8086I would have seen it as the way to go that cloud saves her, but that's what sephiroth wanted, her out of the lifestream. So then in reunion she had to learn how to more effectively speak with the planet as her ancestors did. That way when the time comes, she can do what she did before without being inside. But more importantly, her knowledge as og aerith can be used to erase sephiroth completely, stop him from continuing to be a threat.

    So the second part of the description for chapter 18, Destiny's Crossroads is as follows:
    "In the world beyond, Sephiroth shows Cloud a vision of the planet seven seconds before its demise. Having strayed from the course destiny set for them, they strike out on a path toward an unknown future."
    So there it is. 7 seconds before the world ends.

    I think you are on to something. Just before they enter the portal, they get a glimpse of what will change (Zach) and right after they enter Barret says he does not see a difference which clearly means they are in a different timeline and do not actual return to theirs after the battle with Sephiroth. Also, while fignting the whispers, they get glimpse of events I think will chanege in thsi new timeline. In one of the previews for rebirth, they (original team of the new timeline) all die in what I suppose is the new timeline which they are now in. So maybe, we have a choice (7 seconds) to save Aerith or not and the game will take a separate path depending on your decision.

      @@DarthPingu07 Sort of.
      He died, physically, when Nibelheim happened. Cloud did, in fact, kill him by giving him a mortal wound and then casting him into the Lifestream. What happened, though, is he basically was "too angry to die", so to speak, and kept his soul form leaving his body. He then tapped the powers of the Lifestream to revive. But this is why he's only waist up when you eventually find him in the Northern Crater AND in his ascended winged form as the final boss of the original game. Cloud basically Darth Maul'd him in the end. His will was strong enough to refuse to STAY dead, or for his spirit to dissolve into the Lifestream (probably Jenova cells helped, since she's utterly alien to the planet and the flow of souls), and then took the power there to revive himself.
      So at this point in the original game, he was dead, but had revived himself, but his body was physically in that crystal.
      The thing that was never definitively answered in the original game was whether all the clones you see that appear to be Sephiroth but actually aren't were being controlled by Sephiroth himself from the Northern Crater or if they were being controlled by Jenova herself. They've always left it kind of vague as to which one is in charge, Sephiroth or Jenova, as Jenova could be pulling the strings and manipulating/controlling Sephiroth (just as the clones and even pre-mental repair Cloud are, as Jenova was extremely good at that to the point she killed many Centra before they even knew who she was because of her powers of control and mimicry), or if Sephiroth subsumed her and became the dominant mind of the pair. We really don't know even to this day, honestly.

    I think Aeriths will die as a martyr to the necessary convergence of storylines, to close destinies crossroads and checkmating Sephiroth. It will have an even greater meaning then before. I have seen the developers telling that they wanted the sudden and definite character of death ingrained in the plot of the original to drive home that nail in our emotions. Also Aerith kind of warned us that we shouldn't fall in love with her. Her death is ingrained in the story and how it develops. That doesn't mean though that they should let her die in the same passive fashion or moment. It wouldn't suit the plot. Aerith seems to know the future and is fighting strategically throughout remake. Also the way her character is written like she is quick witted, wise, brave, able to handle herself and naturally assertive. At the end of Remake she even kind of takes the lead by steering the decision-making, like a FF-Gandalf. She also showed that she will protect others over herself when placed in dangerous situations, given how she saved Marlene by offering herself to Shinra. I think her death will be an act of self-sacrifice in the face of limited options, as with Marlene. It will be crossing Sephiroths plans by fixing the timeline in a favourable checkmate condition. Sephiroth will be played by his overconfident recklessness, written in his character. Aerith battle against Sephiroth is on another level as Cloud his battle with Sephiroth and even Barrett and the gangs battle. Aeriths battle is mystic/supernatural, Clouds battle is mental/psychological, Barret and co's battle is worldly.
    Also killing Aerith off at an other moment, hinting that she might be surviving would create a fresh trauma to be experienced in this one as well. Why hit your audience once with the same death twice, if you can make it fresh by dealing them with newfound hope first, followed by a second, different, crushing death? It would be nice if the story shows that Zack isn't able to save her either, when he is around. It wouldn't wonder me when they keep Zack around for just that reason and kill him off in the process as well, making their mutual death having double impact, but less lonely in the process. Thing is I don't think they will let the experienced players of scoff free. The stakes being high and killing off characters was a key piece in the writing of the original and I don’t doubt they will do it here. So, those are my predictions.

    Great video, friend. I subscribe to the theory that this is a sequel. The Sephiroth from AC is still in the lifestream, so he sends his consciousness back to the OG timeline to try and change fate. By him going back in time, this causes the planet to release the whispers. Much like how Weapons showed up when the planet was threatened. Hence, the whispers only existed in this timeline to preserve the events as it was meant to be. I think there's only one Sephiroth. Think of it as an updated firmware from the future. The present Sephiroth in the ice will eventually wake up, and he too will now share memories with the future Sephiroth. He's been updated. Much like how Aerith memories are updated from her future self in the lifestream. Also, the last frame of Aerith's face in the OG game is the same scene that opens this part. It's directly linked.
    As for the Sephiroth that came to mess with Cloud at the start of Remake, I think that is the AC Sephiroth. He was trying to lure Cloud away, so he wouldn't meet Aerith, he wanted to test and see what he could change. Because Cloud was delayed, this is why the Whispers stopped Aerith, to buy time so she could meet Cloud. As it was originally meant to be. I think Sephiroth goal is to get us to kill fate, so he could take control of fate, literally. Now he can summon them to change fate, instead of to prevent fate. Aerith also has knowledge of the future, hence she wanted to kill fate as well, so now they can stop Sephiroth for good and change the ending of the original OG game. Because that was considered the bad ending. As we see in AC, Sephiroth was still around to manipulate things. Both Sephiroth and Aerith wanted to stop fate. For better or worse. We'll see how it plays out in Rebirth.

      @@kjh4496 It is definitely canon. What we have here is what is called a ‘Peggy Sue’ plot.
      It’s where knowledge of the future is given to a character in the past in order to fix some future catastrophe.
      In this case, post Advent Children Sephiroth’s consciousness travelled to the past in order to bring about some his goals (whatever they may be).
      Aerith is given information about the future as well, likely from her future lifestream self, (either to stop Seph or to fix what went wrong in the original game).

    Wrong! 7 seconds means 7 seconds until the end of the world, developers already confirmed that back in 2020, why would Sephiroth say to Cloud "Seven seconds until the end, more than enough for you, perhaps! but what will you do with it, lets see" He says that at the Edge of Creation of all places.
    That has nothing to do with Aerith's death scene, that is confirming what some people already theorise, including myself that Cloud is either killed, or he needs to choose between, Sephiroth or saving the planet. Destruction or Creation, Aerith has already given Cloud the holy materia.
    Why do people constantly over complicate stuff, with silly theories, just play the game they showcased a lot of pointers on how the game will end.
    Cloud is going to choose at the end of part 3 between Aerith or Sephiroth, Destruction or Creation.

    are u saying because sephi has all his memories in this timeline/remake thing that means cloud does to? i understand that the flashback scenes and the pre knowledge of aeriths death but all that could be sephi fkn with him before he had his awakening, my thinking is regardless of timeline/remake at this point in the story cloud is all kinds of fkd up regardless, mind still broken and melded into zacks, that hasnt changed i think - im aware theres another cloud and zack out there but they live in the time line before the main party went into the portal. boom. (i havnt even finished rebirth - im at the date part on second trip to golden saucer, but want to do more side quests)

      You're farther into rebirth than I am but yes thats kind of what I'm saying. If OG aerith was able to project the memories of the original game's events into this timeliness, then both sephiroth ans cloud having made significant contact with the life stream could be doing the same imo

    I generally held the same theories you espoused in this series. If you check out The New Reunion video by sleepezi, it also draws similar conclusions to yours. However, after everything that happened in Rebirth, I don't know what to think. The writers made everything so ambiguous that anything is possible. Whether it'll be believable is another story altogether

      @@CallMeFranko What really gets me is the tepidness of everything. It feels like the writers are waiting to see what is the most popular story the fans would accept and then go for that. I know in interviews they say the story is finalized, but my intuition keeps saying otherwise...
      I really wanted the seven seconds thing to be Aerith's death scene. I really wanted her to live this time. After all, isn't that the point of second chances?

  • @TheSehroyal
    @TheSehroyal 11 месяцев назад +1

    I think Seph went back and Aerith could follow him, both from the lifesrteam.
    Aerith was chill because Seph himself can't go and change things as they were, even if they're watching it. But with Seph manipulating Cloud and the gang in the direction he wants, killing the "arbiters of fate" as they tried to stop everyone, now everything can happen.
    Aerith was chill until that happened, and now she herself has to also play this game instead of just remembering it, henceforth the freedom she mentions.
    And bc of that, other timelines are possible. I hate to bring Marvel into things but it's exactly like Loki. There used to be a sacred timeline, now there isn't.

    Nice video, only thing I have an issue with, and I may be entirely wrong because it's been years since u played the original game. However, when first discussing Zack in your video, you say in his timeline it's day, while in the game's timeline it's night. If I remember correctly, Midgar is so polluted that it's essentially always night due to the smog. Granted, I may be wrong, and clearly Remake didn't seem to adhere too hard to that, in part most likely to showcase the graphics, and maybe because that level of smog-induced Darkness would just be too oppressive if it was throughout the whole game.

    • @CallMeFranko
      @CallMeFranko  11 месяцев назад

      I see what you're saying however in the last few seconds of the game we see zack and cloud walking towards cloud and party. No one noticed, except aerith, cloud doesn't freak out at seeing someone carrying him etc. Hence why there are two timelines.

      Does seem like it would be terrible storytelling to have such a huge effort dedicated to ‘fate can be changed’ only for nothing to change. We’ll see if the writers of this game are as bad at storytelling as you believe them to be.

    • @TeAXIIIT13
      @TeAXIIIT13 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@Noplayster13 the writer of the Remake trilogy is the same man that wrote the original (personally my favourite game/story of all time, and seemingly going to be surpassed by the RE trilogy)
      The whole premise of the original was fighting against fate (the fate of the planet) and despite the party “dealing with shinra” and “dealing with sephiroth” humanity was still fated to die off and the planet thrive.
      We’ve been told that the whispers and harbinger are “fate incarnate” but that doesn’t mean that they are (we keep getting told cloud is ex-SOLDIER, but we know that is a lie, and one of the main talking points they keep using is “what is fact and what is fiction”)
      Bad storytelling is having chekov’s gun and it never going off. The RE trilogy has setup chekov’s gun (the whispers) in a way that it it can go either way (the whispers were an early concept for the OG for the cloaked figure’s “parts of jenova flying around in cloak’s” as mentioned in one of the ultimainia’s (cant remember which one, its been some years since i read it and there are a lot of them).
      The devs have also told us multiple times that the trilogy will follow the original and follow into advent children.
      Also the Nibelhiem incident has been told at least 6 times, all different and yet all the same and thats never been accused of being bad story telling

    • @Noplayster13
      @Noplayster13 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@TeAXIIIT13 I accuse them of bad storytelling with Crisis Core; that game added nothing and contradicted a whole lot in Nibelheim.
      Also, any focus on Zack is bad storytelling as well. He is a generic, cool supersoldier guy, which was perfect for his role in the original since it’s who Cloud had always fantasized of being. That’s why Cloud adopted the shallow persona of Zack’s shallow cool guy personality.
      You’re right to bring up Checkov’s gun, but in this case, it points to them saying that things will be different from now on. It can’t ‘go either way’ unless they are bad writers. You can’t set up a ‘The whispers tried to force things along the same path as the original, but we have defeated them and now anything can happen!’ only for things to end up exactly the same as the original.
      It’s bad storytelling to set up chekov’s gun and then not have it go off. So we will see if they are really as terrible at it as you seem to hope.

    • @TeAXIIIT13
      @TeAXIIIT13 11 месяцев назад

      @@Noplayster13 again we have been told that the whisper’s were there to “keep things the same”, we have been told that they are the physical manifestation of “fate”, we have also been told that Cloud was in soldier, that Jenova was an ancient, that Red was the last of his kind etc, all of which were lies.
      Have the whispers been setup so that things can change? Yes, but only if what we have been told about them is true.
      If the whispers are what i believe they are then that is not “bad storytelling” that is brilliant storytelling and is called a twist, like the truth about cloud and the nibelhiem incident, or Kefka succeeding at becoming a god (FF6)
      Chekovs gun has to go off, but it could have been taken off the wall and fired or it could have fallen down, of it could never have been loaded and a second gun goes off instead.
      Crisis core didn’t contradict any of nibelhiem (truly curious why you think this) the closest thing to contradicting it would be last order
